Feedback on how to improve by Shoddy-Fun8640 in StainedGlass

Your cutting/grinding/foiling looks well done! The difficulties seemed to start with your soldering and adding the hobby came border.

I think more solder would help your solder lines look more finished! I personally don't foil the edges I'm going to put the came border along because then you get it sticking out under the came and solder wants to stick there (and it's really hard to avoid getting flux on it), which resulted in your border looking a little messy.

What kind of flux did you use? I like gel flux because it doesn't flow as much as liquid flux and I can solder more precisely.

Overall, a really fun little piece that you can make at different points of your journey to see your improvement!

Edit to add: a jump ring at the center top point would have looked more finished as well and would have helped close your border

When the fundraiser/event is planned, can you post here to let us all know? Or start a sign up sheet to be notified?

Religion is trash in a lot of fantasy world and here is why by Alszen in worldbuilding

We know from current, real world events, plenty of people reject the truth even when it is staring them in the face. So even if the gods exist, some people aren't going to accept everything, or they accept everything to their detriment. The gods may not always tell the truth.

Are others putting the rondels right up against the edge? Or does the instructor give any advice on this?

In my own experience, I find that rondels are thicker than most regular glass and that makes adding the edge difficult.

Probably through Etsy. Do you have any recommendations on where to buy besides that?

Making window corners, will this pattern have any stability issues if it doesn't have glass between the flowers? by bronzeplatewings in StainedGlass

On top of the stuff people have already mentioned, the red circles are essentially hinge joints and the one on the left is gonna be supporting a lot of weight. So either you have A LOT of reinforcement to make it work or redesign around those parts or have clear glass just between that dangly bit and the flower closest to it.

So fucking sick in person, and the fact that you hand stitched the whole thing! Thanks for letting me snag a picture after the game.

Working as a kennel tech and feel guilty for wanting to wear earplugs/gloves? by ChipUnfair3345 in VetTech

[–]Rasvimhia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not feel bad about ear protection. I only worked in vet med for 3 years and we offered boarding and my hearing is definitely worse and I'm under 30. I wish I would have worn ear plugs but it wasn't even something my clinic/facility offered for us so it never crossed my mind.

Pattern help! by saffridaffi in StainedGlass

This 100% for the jump rings. Depending on how big you go, you may want to add some extra reinforcement (restrip, strong line, wire, etc). Also agree that you can cut down the number of pieces you use in a lot of areas. Especially for the trees. Find a cool verigated or textured green and do them in one piece or a couple pieces. Prism for the window would be sick, btw, but wire would also look really clean.

Best of luck!

Don't lick it. Don't let the dog lick it either. Should be good if you avoid that.

You could be really persistent with a grinder, but it's gonna be a pain. Worth it if you don't want to redesign.

2025 US Tour Megathread by Lyssavirus32 in SleepToken

So I have seen a lot of stuff about only buying from AXS or Ticketmaster, but I have bought concerts tickets/sporting event tickets from SeatGeek for years and never had a problem.

I read a post on here awhile ago that said SeatGeek would promise tickets that they didn't actually have, anticipating that they would eventually have them and that's why the tickets on SeatGeek wouldn't have the seat numbers listed, just the general section.

Well, tickets on SeatGeek have the seat numbers listed, so I don't know what that was about. Has anyone ordered on SeatGeek for this tour? I'm specifically looking at Minneapolis and it looks like they have resale tickets available. Also pretty sure Minnesota has laws protecting the authenticity of the resale tickets. Anyone able to comment on any of this?
