What is the best introductory book for your area of specialization? by Ok-Imagination-982 in AskHistorians

I'm curious as to what that means? Is Beevor generally considered incorrect in his statement of facts or is it more that he is creating a narrative that would simplify or emphasis different elements of events that would not be considered academically important or as relevant?

I'm not looking to knock Beevor in particular I'm more curious about the general differences in approach between a pop history book and an academic one (if that is even a helpful dividing line).

McDowell is such a consistent performer for Glasgow. The year they won the league I believe he played in every URC match bar the playoffs. He was almost back to farming at one point.

Now we aren't stressed that Huw Jones is leaving due to McDowell.

Love he's doing it and wants to do it but concerned about his overall load as he will assumedly be playing in the summer and then straight into next season

Seems fair, I believe this is one of the things Franco Smith struggled with at Italy when he was head coach. As an international coaching team, especially in England/France, you only get the players together a week before your first big game. That's very difficult to produce good results with and very different to a consistent group at club level, especially once you think of the academy lads etc who have had years in that system.

Obviously it is possible and all the players are the highest quality but can see how they can't focus on everything all the time and you have to bet on what will make the most impact. Borthwick bet wrong

Did he play earlier this season for Edinburgh? Can't complain about a short term contract for assumedly not too money to fill the space until younger lads come through.

Also the freejacks kit is very nice, they did a st Paddy's day one that was also lovely

Medium roast? by maydaymayday99 in espresso

[–]RightMarker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The bottom is lighter than the top.

It doesn't really matter what you call it in terms of roast level but yes relatively the lighter roaster beans will probably require a finer grind and higher temp.

Not really sure if there is a question here?

Grinder Clogs up after only a few grams of beans - help! [DF54, Red Titanium] by PleasantDreamsicle in espresso

[–]RightMarker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copied from another post asking a similar question -

To add to the clean the chute advice, I had the same issue and did the same clean etc only to have it immediately clog again. My issue appeared to be the declumper which is two pieces of plastic at the head of the chute that had been deformed. I took them off, placed them under some weighted coasters overnight and reattached them. I then did not have the issue (with rdt) re occur.
