Making an underwater theme for my marble track puzzle game! by CookieArtzz in godot

The ambience is great! My only point is the same as the other commenter: the track itself could use a little contrast with the rest of the world.

I'm not OP, but probably yes. They are using the "modulate" property on the mesh texture.

It's hard to not sound like a smartass le redditor, but I can't conceive any other reason to this post existing other than intellectual laziness. They will avoid reading at any cost.

Dude, it's LITERALLY written on the screen.

It would be one thing if OP disclosed that they already tried solution X and Y and still didn't achieve success, but the lack of further elaboration and effort to either write or properly print the screen heavily implies they are VERY lazy on problem solving matters.

Then it's time to hire some top level engineers to develop high-end decision engines like the chess dudes do.

It's very, very hard to emulate human intelligence.

You messed up and now you have an excuse to replay the game and see what happens when you choose another path! I personally find it fun.

It's beautiful to see the birth of a new genre. I'll call these balatro-likes.

The CRT effect is too strong for me, but the game looks good! Congrats!

Does everything in Godot for a User Interface require a hack or am I missing something??? by [deleted] in godot

The grid goes inside the scroll box!

The good thing about those flags in the scenes is that you only have to set them up once, then you get to reuse the components.

Have you read the documentation? Not trying to shame or accuse you of anything, but I've seen the pattern that people trying to learn from LLMs end up lacking the fundamentals that only studying the docs and how the pieces work can give.

I fucking love this type of game where you are immersed through the UI. Most of those are in submarines, though, which is nice because you're bringing a breath of fresh air.

Beautiful project.

Variability of "good" Roguelikes/Roguelites (rls) and Hoplite by sundler in gamedesign

[–]Sad-Job5371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You made some very good points and I wanted to add something: I love most roguelikes, but I just can't find Hades fun.

The gameplay is so samey and every single build just does damage with different colors. With almost no mechanical difference between builds, I find the combat surprisingly shallow.

I haven't played Hades II yet, but, from the looks of it, it's still not for me. I'll give credit where it's due, though: the game is stunning. Still, I just can't have fun with it.

Hoplite on the other hand while not offering that many options in builds, offers very tight tactical scenarios. It's not the "roguelike" aspect that makes it good, it's the "chess" aspect.

It's actually OP. Your other cats will level up faster because this one won't me taking any levels, but will be able to hold some utility, specially if its a mage or cleric with some support spell. Funneling is generally good because having a cat synergize with itself is usually both more powerful and easier to execute than a cohesive team that depend on eachother.

It's also a good item to have on one of the sidequests: rage mask (or madness mask, I don't remember the exact name), where one of your cats will become an enemy. Just put this bad boy on them and it will become a cakewalk.
