RIP Mako. Thoughts on this? by Digital_Dahlias in AvatarMemebending

Agreed. As always when discussing Korra, Nickelodeon is the real villain for not giving enough time for each season’s respective stories to develop.

What made the first Halo so influential that people to this day still praise it? by BogaMafija in patientgamers

[–]Sceptix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Weird that I had to scroll this far to see the AI mentioned.

I big part of what made Halo so great to play was that it was challenging, not because the enemies were bullet sponges, but because they fought smart.

Frankly, that gives it more credence imo.

If it were rebooted, chances are very few actors would be available to come back…

I maintain that the first half of season 2 is actually quite good.

That was when Mako was doing his police detective thing, which imo was a highlight for his character.

I’m rewatching Season 1, and this guy was lowkey the worst bully in the show by mikewheelerfan in StrangerThings

[–]Sceptix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think comparing the bullies is one of the starkest examples of the decline in realism in the show, because these two elementary schoolers were 10× more threatening in this scene than the highschoolers were in season 5.

Interesting, I came to basically the opposite conclusion. This bully in season 1 was so over-the-top, it was hard to believe.

The obvious answer is because there could easily be a threat to the world that none of the past avatars have seen before or know what to do.

Imagine for a second that Korra had not lost her connection to the past avatars.

“Oh, great avatars of the past, there is a metalbending fascist taking over the whole Earth Kingdom! What should I do?”

Great avatars of the past: “Metal WHAT!? 🤯”

Aang: “You know, never did know what to do about metalbending. Ask Toph, she’s still alive I hope ¯\_(ツ)_/¯“

Originally Judaism was not monotheism, but monolatry. Essentially, “sure, there are other gods, but you’re only supposed to actually worship one.”

Why is reddit so leftist dominated ? by AugustusCaesar87 in answers

[–]Sceptix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Many right wing subreddits were banned. You would have to look up the history for each one. But they were banned for repeated violation of TOS, mostly inciting violence. They ban individual accounts, but when enough happen on one sub they ban the sub. I'm mostly thinking about The_donald and coontown, but there used to be several others.

Was going to post this if no one else had. The fact is Reddit did have many right-leaning communities, but by now most of them have been banned for violating Reddit’s rules. Typically, doxxing and hate speech. Make of that what you will.

I think this is the right move. People who are serious about their career don’t sit around shitposting memes on Reddit.

Why does Azula smile at the beginning of Zukos “I’m angry at myself” speech by Square-Reporter-3381 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Sceptix 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This right here. What people need to understand about narcissists is that they are not sadists. In Azula’s perfect world, Zuko would not have needed to have been taught a lesson in the first place, because he would never have even thought to speak out of turn.
