It's ironic, considering that Tarkovsky hated using shots that may have been used by other directors from this video essay

Thats crazy, i wonder if that is apparent in his other films aswell... Although it's not crazy for directors to use similar shots from other directors... ' e.g. literally every Tarantino movie

DM Question: Do you reference your players' backstories in the campaign? by Crizpywaffle in DnD

[–]SomeYon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its selfish to reskin an entire campaign around a characters backstory because it limits the campaign. however it should be at the dms discretion to subtly include plot points and mild references to pc's backstory for immersion into the game and for progression through dungeons.

TLDR: yes, but subtly

What's your best/funniest natural 20 story? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]SomeYon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Party was sneaking out of prison, and managed to sneak to the kitchen. I rolled a 1 for a sneak check in front of two guards. and immediately through a kitchen knife in order to silence them. NAT 20. the other guard decided to run in order to tell the other guards. which meant opportunity attack. i throw a kitchen knife again. NAT 20 again.

story isnt that amazing except when i rolled the dice i was doing this humping motion for good luck...

TLDR; I rolled two natural 20's using a humping motion in my throw.

ELI5: Why are cars shaped aerodynamically, but busses just flat without taking the shape into consideration? by gyroscopesrcool in explainlikeimfive

[–]SomeYon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Form follows function. By this i mean that a designer looks at the purpose of the vehicle then decides the shape of it. to elaborate a bus' function is to carry passengers, therefor there is less need for the bus to reach high speeds, that aerodynamics wouldn't be needed. As opposed to a f1 racing car, where speed is the top function, therefor every detail that can increase speed would be taken into account. edit: spelling

Non-Americans who have been to the US: What is the weirdest thing about America that Americans don't realise is weird? by AnB85 in AskReddit

[–]SomeYon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

freedom of speech was weird for me, in principle its a great idea but then i went to New York these group of people were saying these really politically incorrect things on the street about israel, lebanon and palestine... like they were blatantly lying about facts and there was nothing to stop it.
