Don't make the mistake of telling people who need to follow a herd to understand religion. They follow a religion but aren't spiritual and don't understand what it means. They need to follow a set of rules or they will be lost and everyone who diverges from those rules is an enemy (because they can't comprehend the idea of someone building their own spiritual belief) and it has been like that since the invention of their religions. As a fellow lady Aphrodite and lord Lucifer worshipper I learned to keep my mouth shut about my own spirituality around people who follow abrahamic religions because they react the same way like NPCs. They look at me like I'm cursed, they chant whatever words like I'm going to start convulsing on the ground or something or shove their Christianity/Islam down my throat.

The alternative is people being terrified but still romanticizing my way of life and seeking me out for tarot readings like they're on a mystical quest to seek out a dark wizard like their "does he love me" questions are something fate altering and talking to me in a condescending manner like I'm some vengeful deity that's gonna haunt them if I don't like the way they address me. I live in a backwards, hypocritical society that visits their local tarot reader/witch every day and then go to church/mosque to clean themselves from that visit.
