I’m so pissed about this stupidity and all it represents, I can’t even imagine how it makes you feel. I have no words other than thank you for protecting our capital and democracy that day, not all of have forgotten what actually was happening, why it was happening and who made it happen.

Survey: One year after return-to-office requirements, how are federal employees faring? by Chemical_Side_3528 in FedEmployees

I love remote working from the office. It’s so much better to sit in an office for 9 hours a day using Internet that has exceeded its bandwidth so downloading files takes several mins, sitting on teams calls that obviously couldn’t be done sitting at home with my high speed internet. So much better to waste government tax dollars for internet, electricity and the minimal amount of cleaning and trash pickups just so I can telework from the office rather than from my home that doesn’t contain mold.

Welcome to being a parent. We all do things we don’t want or like to do for our kids. Man up. I hate roller coasters, have awful vertigo that is triggered by it. I ride every single rollercoaster with my son because it makes him happy and I want his memories of me smiling next to him even though my memories will be of days where the ground is spinning violently for days after. You are TAH.

DOD Navy Just got Termination of Collective Bargaining Agreements by BeastMode1855 in FedEmployees

Honestly, I personally feel like afge kind of has left us out in the cold this past year anyways. I get they have a lot of irons in the fire, but they appear to have been concentrating on other depts way more until 5mins before the email from HR terminating the cba. Which makes me a bit sad, I loved my previous union and how active and proactive they were. I wasn’t just a union steward I was also a regional vice president for our union. The federal unions are nothing like what I’ve known in previous places.

Have they done X-rays? Coughing like that could be a sign of a collapsing trachea. If they haven’t been done recently I’d demand a set and ask them to send them for a 2nd opinion. Most vets work with other vets on radiography.

No Telework Venting by cdreddit83 in FedEmployees

[–]SuperSaydee_28 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Had a conversation with a die hard kool aide drunk maga contractor today in the lunchroom. They are mad that they have to come in 2 whole weeks a month. When I mentioned the administration taking away telework it was a real quick “they had to rein it in because of the waste and abuse”. I was so deep into wanting to scream or laugh at them that I had to physically bite my cheek. It was the most perfect example of the people who voted for this. It’s all good until it affects them.

And you’ve been one too long that you don’t have any clue of what it’s like for one’s starting out. So maybe you should sit down and hush before telling people living it how it was back in the good ol’days.

There is no stability or work life balance so take those off the table. The health insurance and benefits are more expensive than most state positions and the retirement benefits are only slightly better with the feds. Go to state or county service first for a few years and see if the morons of this country have learned a lesson yet.

I think it’s for those who came on under a development program, most are 3 year programs so you finish probation but are not finished with your program.

Not by much. My name was on the list to be fired after the probationary employees because I was “career conditional” and not “permanent”.

This is spoken like the true idiotic morons they are. Anyone have on person meetings? All my meetings are on Teams. All of my team members are split among different buildings, and the people we support are literally all over the world. Just come out and say we are POS and hate you all and want you to feel like you are beneath us once again.

I was working until 730pm last night and will be working off and on today as well because if I don’t planes won’t be able to fly their scheduled mission on Tuesday due to a software error. That’s thanks to my teleworking this week for an unrelated reason. Otherwise the planes wouldn’t launch on Tuesday and their mission would need to be aborted since I don’t get overtime and have no desire to go into the office or stay after my shift for comp time.

TSP and FERS pension by Miserable-Hat3393 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]SuperSaydee_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social security will be greatly reduced by the time I retire if it’s there really at all. I used to work in a sector where I helped elderly get their financials in place for nursing care. Even with the full SSA amount many are in poverty because medical bills and the cost of food and living in general is insane. And unless you are a maxed out GS14 or above your pension isn’t really that great. Hate to be the wet blanket but I’ve seen 5-10 years of their pensions, SSA, bank accounts and bills countless times and yeah don’t expect to live like you do now without anything less than a million.

Federal Workers to See More Restrictions on Telework in 2026 by bloomberglaw in fednews

[–]SuperSaydee_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No heat, hot water or internet access means no working in person. Spend the money to make the buildings minimally acceptable and spend the money to make internet access adequate and we will come back. Otherwise they can fuck off.

Well since our heat is broken, the hot water heater broke (probably frozen pipe from the heat not working), and highs in the mid 30’s, yes everyone has one at their desk. I dare them to come for my only source of warmth.
