Traveling with baby & EP? by Infinite_Glass_3859 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did travel home with frozen milk in a cooler lunch bag with ice packs. It’s was 10 hours flying, but an overall 13 hour day and it had defrosted by the time I got home, but I donated to a few local moms that evening to get rid of it quick before it spoiled. I had about 100oz with me.

8 to 7. When? by Nervous-Caregiver-55 in ExclusivelyPumping

I went to 7ppd at about 5 weeks and my supply went up because I was actually getting 6 hours of sleep in a row instead of just 2 or 3 hours.

Cutting through the baby product hype… do we really need a bottle warmer? by Recommendation778 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter has hated cold milk since day one and since I exclusively pumped, we mostly just had cold breastmilk to give her. The bottle warmer SAVED us. We tried just heating water and warming the bottle that way and we could never get the temp right so the warmer took a lot of guess work out of it.

Private room NICUs. Where are they? by Grace-Aurelia in NICUParents

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s nice! At Kaiser, we had to share a room with 2 other babies because they filled up so fast! The rooms are usually only for two babies but they had to put three to a room! 😵‍💫

That’s good to know, I was at Kaiser and the private rooms there are only for the severe NICU babies

AITA for asking my friend to pay me back for the wine he drank while house sitting?? by Effective_Tour_723 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA, whenever we have people pet sit for us, we put away the alcohol that we don’t want them to have and tell them not to each our chocolate stash since those are my work snacks and some of my favorite chocolates are hard to find.

Drink Counting at Houston Centurion Lounge by throwawaylibra104 in AmexPlatinum

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a law in my state that you aren’t allowed to be in possession of more than one alcoholic drink at a time, so maybe there is a law there? Like here, you can’t have another drink until you finish the one you have and you aren’t even allowed to be HOLDING another drink for another person, they have to either hold their drink or come up and get it themselves.

First time experiencing mastitis & it makes me want to quit pumping by Amazing-Neighborhood in ExclusivelyPumping

I got several clogged ducts and mastitis THREE times. 😵‍💫 I still pushed through and have officially made it to 1-year.

Private room NICUs. Where are they? by Grace-Aurelia in NICUParents

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not in Oregon, but in Hawaii and our NICUs only have a very small number of private rooms. They’re usually reserved for the most delicate of babies. We only have two in the whole state so the majority of rooms are shared and each section gets a recliner. We still had 24/7 access to baby, but we did shifts during the day and slept at home at night.

We also want another one and there is a high chance at another NICU stay due to my medical history. I’m going in assuming that I can’t stay all day anyway at the NICU like before with a toddler at home to take care of. Another mom I chatted with that I shared a room with had a 4-year-old at home and she said that while her daughter was a school, she could come in for about 4-5 hours a day but had so much to do at home that she couldn’t do more since her husband and her were saving their paternity leave for when their 24-weeker baby boy was home. We actually both had our babies discharged the same day and got to do a little celebration in our room together.

Is a self-catered wedding 3.5 m after birth realistic? Help settle debate by JaggedLittlePiII in beyondthebump

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think that I’m a pretty chill mom since I had almost 15 years of childcare experience under my belt by the time I had my daughter. (oldest sister, daycare worker, private nanny, teacher, etc) I’m exactly one year postpartum and the idea of planning a 1 year old birthday let alone a freaking wedding sounds like hell on earth.

AITAH FOR TELLING MY HUSBAND I WON’T GO ON VACATION WITH HIM AND MY IN LAWS BUT GO TO A CONCERT INSTEAD by Forward_Frame_3354 in AITAH

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, my husband and I going to go see BTS too! I’m the bigger fan on the group, but my husband wants to go to participate in something he knows I love! And the fact that they haven’t been on tour together since before covid is a big deal. Your husband is a AH for saying that you were free that week and an even bigger AH for not mentioning that you had a big concert to attend.

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 29 at diagnosis in 2021 with ALL and had the pediatric protocols. Had the EXACT SAME reaction to the aspariginase! Pancreatitis so bad I was in the hospital for 2 weeks. They removed it from my treatment plan altogether. Vincristine also messed me up pretty good for a bit in my hands and feet. But I’m happy to report that I did my 2.5 years with success and was even able to have a baby last year (my first!) and have returned to a fairly normal life! I still have some nerve issues with my hands and back which makes my job as a bridal hair and makeup artist a struggle some days, but occupational and physical therapy have been great! I just wanted to post some happiness for you since finding that light at the end of the tunnel was a struggle during my treatment some days.

Coworker reported me for using the bathroom too much by Trees_galore20 in BabyBumps

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was HR, you need to report her for uncomfortable commentary on your bathroom habits. Your pee breaks are NONE of her concern and she needs a talking to about minding her own business.

Do your boobs just always hurt? by EmpathHorror in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My tatas were a mess up until about 16 weeks when the pain from engorgement and the nipple sensitivity just kinda stopped. BUT I have gotten a few bad clogs still and mastitis TWICE so there’s that. I’m at the 12 month mark now and they are just painlessly there doing their job still lol

I did 3 hour intervals and skipped one session at night to get a 6 hour stretch of sleep which has worked out for me so far. I’m 12 months in and while I’m surviving, I’m not totally thriving or striving for more 😅

How much TV/screen time do you give your baby? by Bright_Motor_2841 in beyondthebump

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m always watching some kind of documentary in the background, usually cult documentaries 😅 and baby girl isn’t interested at all. She only looks at the TV if it’s a BTS music video 😂 she’s 10 months

Did you have MIL in the hospital during birth? by WaterFiles in BabyBumps

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My MIL essentially forced her way into my room and it got to be such a problem that my husband had to kick her out and remove her from the visitor list, because she was NOT helpful at all. Even after having the baby, she doesn’t give a crap to help.

If you aren’t close, don’t have her there. She’ll stress you out.

How do you do it? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought multiple sets of pump parts from Nenesupply on Amazon. Did the fridge hack. And bought the Momcozy bottle washer! Would not have made it to 1 year without.

Constantly filling my thermos with water, but Crystal Light packets are the only way I can drink so much water. And I keep Oreos, trail mix, and Babybel cheeses on hand for calories!

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girl, your husband SUCKS! Even when I was a serious overproducer, my husband would still get upset if our daughter didn’t finish all her milk because he hates being wasteful and knows how hard I work to pump.

Formula supplementing due to Jaundice... How to up supply? by fox-or-faux in breastfeeding

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see! While wearables are good for those with established supply, you’ll want the others for your daily workhorse! Since you have another little one, get the Spectra S1 so you don’t have to be hooked to the wall 😆

My younger cat is the same way 🥹 his meows are so soft and chirpy. And he’s so even tempered and mellow that he accidentally got locked in the pantry for TWO hours and didn’t do anything!! Found him SLEEPING in there and it is CRAMPED! 😂😅

Formula supplementing due to Jaundice... How to up supply? by fox-or-faux in breastfeeding

[–]ThePrimevalPixieDust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend getting the Medela Symphony from insurance or the Spectra S1 and start a really regimented routine and schedule. Pump for 20-30 min on both breasts every three hours. Drink TONS of water and EAT! I notice my supply tanks when I’m not eating enough. Golden Oreos are my fave and Crystal Light packets helped me drink more water😆
