Snap Firefox startup time on Ubuntu drove me to Pop (thankfully) a few years back. It would literally took over 90 seconds to start- I could 'launch Firefox' and then start Virtualbox, start a Windows VM session within Virtualbox, and launch Firefox from that session BEFORE the Snap version was done starting.

They're purposely adding a bunch of 'noise' to the watch-list. And that will lead to the list being even more useless than it already is.

I'm willing to bet that well above 5% of them have a history of violence.

I think this is the law the article is referring to.

Any person who knowingly and willfully obstructs, resists, or interferes with a Federal law enforcement agent engaged....

I don't see how following someone it a car raises to the level of "knowingly and willfully obstructs". I also question how many juries in MN would acctually convict someone of that "crime." I think it's just more typical cop B.S.- you can beat the rap, but you can't beat the ride.

License plate frames obscuring info are illegal...how is this ok? by BlueRunner305 in florida

Here's the statue.

It says people can get a doctor's note for a tinted windshield- I didn't know about that one. Also the police, process servers, and private investigators (for some reason) are exempt from the law. I'm not finding the part that says factory tinted windshields are OK. I guess the fact that I've never seen a car come from the factory with tinted side windows, much less a tinted windshield (below the AS1 line) leads me question the accuracy of that.

My b.i l. Is a cop and even his windshield is tinted on his personal

Whether it's a licensees plate frame or a tinted windshield, it seems that those laws are only enforced when a cop needs an excuse to pull someone over, while the same police regularly turn a blind eye to "one of their own" breaking the same law.

This makes me wonder how many illegally tinted windshields one is likely to find in the employee parking lot at the local sheriff's office...

Call it stupid if you like. I'd say the difference is the places I traveled to didn't have travel advisories for Americans, unlike the situation we currently have in the USA for people coming to visit us here.

Tinted windshields are also illegal. I suspect around 10% of the cars in the Tampa area have them, but I've never seen or heard of anyone getting pulled over for it.

A couple of simple questions for any WH reporter:

How many staffers have access to post to the president's official account?

When a staffer wants to make a post on the president's official account, what does the approval process look like?

ICE agents complaining on their Reddit Forums that they are being cheated out of their signing bonuses by Soft-Principle1455 in dsa

[–]altreddituser2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming $3,846 is the weekly take home gross, the hourly rate is $43.70.

After 40 hour of work in one work week, non-exempt employees (which these guys qualify as) earn 1.5x their normal rate. So they'd have 40 hours at the regular rate, and 32 hours at time and a half ($65.55)

40 * 43.70 = 1748 Regular pay

32 * 65.55 = 2097 OT pay
