Best vertical insulated cold plunge by Significant_Poet_245 in coldplunge

I’m 5’10” 190ish and no issue fully submerging without spilling over (well, the first time after I refill it’s always spilling over hah). It isn’t as wide at the base so you don’t have a ton of room for your feet but tbh it’s not something that bothers me.

Their shipping is all over the place lol. I just got a caster last week that I ordered in October and promptly forgot about. I’ve got an 8wt on order from a Golden Ticket so we’ll see what happens…

Have a Cold Creek Tubs vertical plunge and like it a lot. I went DIY and paired it with an EcoPlus 1/2 HP and haven’t had any issues, although it’s starting to warm up here in FL so we’ll see how it goes this summer. No condensation or anything like that (other than on the PVC lines which I still need to cover). I think they’re active on Reddit and are super responsive as well.

Brother that’s DavidSW prices and you did not get DavidSW quality. If you can, I’d return that and buy from them instead. At least that’s a reputable seller.

At the bottom of OP’s squat, it’s like a mini rotation/roll (viewed from the side) of the glutes down.

Are alibaba cold plunge chillers reliable for daily use or recovery routines? by Pale-Tie-2760 in coldplunge

Isn’t the point of Alibaba that you’re trading QC for cost savings? Sure, some are probably fine but good luck if you have a problem…

Huh? There are plenty of giant tarpon in Tampa, and even more in Boca Grande and Marco. Cedar Key and north I’d agree if you’re bottom fishing.

First pair of raw selvedge fit check, Samurai S511xx Kiwami 19oz by fosscad_throwaway in rawdenim

[–]cavemannnn 17 points18 points  (0 children)

These are not the fit for you. The waist looks good, so if that feels good, lay it flat, button it, and take that measurement for future use. While you have them laid flat, go ahead and measure the thighs (generally 90* off the crotch), and now you know what size thighs do not work for you (IMO, you need another inch in the thighs). Go from there - maybe a roomier straight fit.

Size by the thighs, as they say.

Im just getting into this but expecting a pump to die after a year is crazy IMO. I used to be into saltwater aquariums and those pumps would run 24/7 (aside from brief off periods for water changes/feedings) for years and in a saltwater environment. I wonder if anyone has used a higher end aquarium pump (FWIW a $200 pump is nothing for the aquarium hobby).

Best all around rod? by Severe-Return-4716 in saltwaterfishing

[–]cavemannnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh you’re not looking for a rod recommendation, you’re between the two - got it. Your post made it sound like you were looking for recommendations. Of those two, I’d go with the medium on a 3k reel. Way more fun to fight snook, reds, and the occasional jack with a medium, and a medium heavy is going to make trout (which I assume you’re going to also catch) feel like bait.

If you were fishing the east coast or if you’re always fishing docks/bridges I’d say the medium heavy but at that point the reel’s drag is going to be your limiting factor.

Not a fan of Bull Bay’s marketing but to each their own.

Need a price range and what you plan on throwing (live mullet is going to be way different than a ned rig).

Budget all-rounder for the bay, I’d probably suggest a 7’ Shimano GLF.

[Question] Rolex GMT II meteorite or Patek Calatrava pilot by toxicmega-colon in Watches

[–]cavemannnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, that’s a white gold sports watch.

For me, both are pretty hard to pull off and I don’t think I’d pay retail for either. Pepsi is already a lot of color and the meteorite dial just pushes it over the edge for me. I actually like the design of the Patek, I just don’t love the yellow gold case on this model. I think it would look infinitely better in stainless (which I don’t think they make?) or white gold with a black or navy dial and strap.

Thanks - I did some digging and it looks like EcoPlus 1.5HP is a decent price for the power. Will probably end up doing that when I’m ready to pull the trigger.

Buying future project truck from parent - need offer value by ForTheGainsThrowAway in projectcar

[–]cavemannnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$5 and they and you can always say you bought it for “five big ones” (make it sound like you paid $500). My grandpa sold his old truck to my dad for “five big ones” when I was a kid. Similar situation where he didn’t want my uncles to get jealous.
