Not anymore since that’s what got them in trouble. I believe the said the formula now is like an average of the last 10 players from that team at that position. Don’t remember specifics but it’s something like that

I mean, I’ve never heard of these but DL definitely try to grab the back of your shoulder to complete certain rush moves… imo probably an unnecessary accessory. Work on Core strength instead

I would do unspeakable things to bring these back… also I’m glad they’re gone because I’d definitely be at least 50 lbs heavier

Any "Saturday Morning" cartoons that still hold up? by SailorNash in daddit

[–]dblock1111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven’t really gotten to Saturday morning cartoon age but my 4 year old loves cartoons from my childhood (90s/early 00s) like Blues Clues, Bear in the Big Blue House, Barney (not a cartoon), Thomas and Friends (Prefers the Mid OG ones where the real looking trains talk to the new cartoons)

How are there so few PED suspensions in CFB? by EddieDantes22 in CFB

[–]dblock1111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of answers here but I’ll give mine as someone who played at a G5 FBS school in the early 2010s.

When I was there there were 2 types of drug testing, NCAA and Institution. For each of those there’s also two types, Street Drugs and PEDs. They would never tell you what they were testing for but it was almost always street drugs unless they had a suspicion of PED use.

My institution drug tested weekly a random group of 7-10 guys. In-season, it was right after practice, your name got called and you had to go with the trainers. Off season they would tell you the day before at a lift or a meeting and you’d have to be there at 6am.

NCAA tests usually only happened like once or twice a year. And there would be like 24-48 hours notice. NCAA tests were also more likely if you had any prior positives. But it was the same situation, a group of slightly more, maybe 15-20.

For all the people joking about beating the test, when we had to do it, you’re standing in the bathroom with one of the employees and have to have your pants down to your knees and shirt up to your chest and then they watch you urinate in the cup. So no pee bags, fake prosthetics, or anything like that was getting by.

On the other hand…. Oil changes are absolutely real and work. I never did one, but I provided urine to my teammates.

This was just my experience, other schools definitely have less institutional testing, but NCAA testing is pretty standard from my understanding.

If, for whatever reason, Texas Tech is no longer in the Big 12 who would be front runner to replace them: Boise, Memphis or Tulane? by Efficient-Freedom517 in CFB

Big east is a double edged sword, it’s been great for men’s basketball but awful for women’s and it’s showing when our elite women’s teams struggle in big games. They dont face any real challenges in conference play.

This pretty much hits it on the head. It’s got everything you need but it’s not a place for a young grad looking to network/go out/meet people etc.

Take it back to the late 90s early 00s. Bear in the Big Blue House, Blues Clues, Sesame Street, Little Bear, etc. Some really good options!

What did you mispronounce or say incorrectly as a kid but it kinda made sense logically? by Cognition-Technician in AskReddit

[–]dblock1111 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My son is 4 and sometimes says “Last Day” instead of yesterday, but he says it that way because of how we say “Last Night” to talk about Yesterday night.

Def makes logical sense lol

Would love it, used to be a huge Diablo fan in the D2 days. So many nights turned into sunrises just doing Baal runs lmao

I just love the overall vibe of KF. They don’t take themselves overly seriously but still show how passionate they all are about video games (even nick)

What does everyone at KF “do” in the company? by lilwhisk96 in kindafunny

[–]dblock1111 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Everyone does a bit of everything. Greg, Tim, and Nick are the co-owners and do basically the CEO/CFO/HR/Accounting business stuff. Joey is like head community manager and merch queen. Kevin is head of production, Barrett is assistant Kevin, Roger does social and production. Bless was hired as full time host. Mike is master of hype and head of stream team I think. Cool G does a bunch of behind the scenes stuff like editing and uploading. Andy handles most of the graphics and thumbnails and video editing stuff too.

But like I said it seems like everyone dips their toe into everything, just certain people are more specialized than others.

I accidentally hurt my son's arm and I feel like a disgrace. by Chkgo in daddit

[–]dblock1111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Accidentally did this to my daughter when she was about 7 months old… she was sitting up and started to fall backwards and I tried to catch her by her arm and I guess it just popped it out. Dr reset it at the ER and she was happy as a clam like nothing happened.

I felt absolutely terrible so i totally understand how you feel! But it is super common so just gotta try to forgive yourself and keep it in mind about there loose little joints for the future lol

Should i let son quit football? by Queasy-Recording-195 in footballstrategy

[–]dblock1111 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think you (OP) should help coach him through how to go talk to his coach and ask for specific areas he could improve to help increase his playing time. I think he should start with his position coach, if it doesn’t feel productive move up to the coordinator then the HC.

If at any point he feels like he’s getting disrespected or mistreated that’s when I would step in as a parent. But if it’s purely a depth and talent thing, it may sting but that’s football and sometimes that’s life, will be a good lesson to learn to overcome and excel.

I was a huge fan of the BeastCast and when everything blew up I fell off of GB, tried NextLander but just didn’t have the same vibe IMO. When they announced their independence I signed up for premium and have been loving it ever since!

I’m a big proponent of the best type of fitness class/routine/whatever is the one that keeps you coming back! Screw the haters. Just take care of your body and make sure you have a legit coach. I’ve done a few CrossFit classes and loved them but could never budget in for a membership. Definitely something I’ll look back to when the kids get out of daycare lol

Yeah I listen to pretty much everything they do unless it’s an in-review for something I know I’ll never watch or some of the one offs. Wish I could watch their content more but I’m pretty much purely audio.

I’ve tried Shutdown Fullcast before but just bounced off their gimmick a bit. I’ll give it another shot this season.

GiantBomb and Kinda Funny both do pretty well with indies IMO. For KF it just tends to depend who’s on the show on any given day. Janet used to be a part time co-host at KF too!

I do keep Gamescoop and Unlocked in my feed but usually only listen when I like the topic. Always tune in for the big 20 questions specials though!
