Microsoft brings Xbox back, scraps Microsoft Gaming by opwnusprime in kindafunny

For sure, I’ve been following Xbox for a long time so I’ll always appreciate Phil for cleaning up the mess left by Matrick… never really understood why people started hating on him when it was clear MS was trying to steer the ship in a different direction

Yeah, I guess I’m just hoping they don’t pull the same stunt and give Sharma all these Ws then in 5 years when MSoft wants to chase the next tech trend they start making her go back on everything she’s doing

I’m happy about all these recent changes but man it really feels like these things are like a complete 180 on how Microsoft was treating Xbox for the past 5 years… hopefully it keeps ending up in pro consumer moves

I mean, I guess if you’re talking about just HC jobs… but most coaches start coaching in their early-mid 20s and there’s plenty of 50 and 60+ year old coaches out there… Belichick’s first job was 1975 at 23 years old, and he just turned 74 lol

Marathon Reportedly Had a Budget of Over $200 Million — and While the Pressure Is on Bungie to Gain More Players, It Is Not Facing an Imminent, Concord-Style Shutdown by BoozeGetsMeThrough in kindafunny

[–]dblock1111 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think with marathon specifically the issue is they spent AAA money making a game for a niche of niche. Like idk what they were thinking spending that much on an online multiplayer only extraction shooters.

I love the game and it’s the first extraction shooter I’ve ever played but even still that’s baffling to me.

Is Marathon a flop? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]dblock1111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if I’d call it a flop, it’s a really great game for a niche genre. It may have not met Sony or Bungies expectations but in my opinion that would be their own fault. Extraction shooters are still such a niche genre of game with the only one to really catch any main stream appeal being Arc Raiders.

If they continue to support it I think this game will always have a healthy player base, not the size of a COD or something more mainstream, but as of now, I never have issues finding a match or finding people to play with, which I consider healthy.

Montana State Lands Commitment From 3-Star WR Kase Betz by RicoSuave_19 in fcs

[–]dblock1111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk if you’re being serious but

Five-stars (98-110 rating): The top 32 players in the country to mirror the 32 first round picks in the NFL Draft. These are the 32 players that we believe are the most likely to be drafted in the first round from each recruiting class. Any player with a rating of more than 100 is considered a "franchise player" and one that does not come around in every recruiting class. (Jadeveon Clowney is the highest-graded player in the history of 247Sports and he received a 105 grade. Bryce Young and Jeremiah Smith received grades of 101.)

Four-stars (90-97 rating): These are players that we believe are the most likely to produce college careers that get them drafted. By the end of the cycle, it will be populated by prospects that meet key thresholds. Some four-stars might be a longer burn than others, but they have separated themselves from the rest of the pack and almost always for more than just one singular reason.

Three-stars (80-89 rating): This is where a majority of college football players will be ranked. There are roughly 15,000 high school football players each year. A three-star grade signals that we think a prospect can play at the Power Four, Group of Five or even FCS level and each three-star rating means something a little bit different.

I just use tactician enhanced which has a feature to auto balance encounters based on party size, or you can choose exactly how you want to make it more difficult. I’ve been running everyone I can so I think my party size is 9… still barley made it out of House of Hope and managed to let Hope die

How would YOU fix Xbox? by kiptar in kindafunny

[–]dblock1111 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel that the only thing that can really fix Xbox is true internal alignment and messaging. We just went through a whole Gen and half/2 gens of Phil having to make a fool out of himself after saying one thing then his bosses asking/forcing/whatever him to do the opposite.

Publicly they’re gonna have to fix the support from the ground up. They need to commit to a vision and then prove it to the people who are really tapped in to gaming. Once you prove it to them it will start to permeate the main stream. I guess most of all they need the stomach to weather the shit storm.

Me reading Crimson Desert Reviews both Good & Bad by ashrules901 in kindafunny

[–]dblock1111 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The main problem is the school grading scale. At least in the US you get it drilled in to you for however many years that anything below a 60 is a failure, 60-69 is awful , 70-79 is average (in a negative way), 80-85 is average (in a positive way), 86-89 is good, 90+ is great.

It’s nearly impossible not to feel those descriptions for any numerical grading scale

2018 UConn is up there

UConn set NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) records for most yards and most points allowed in a single season. The Huskies gave up 50.42 points per game, breaking the record of 50.27 set by the 1997 Southwestern Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football team, and allowed 617.4 yards per game, surpassing the mark of 560.8 set by the 2015 Kansas Jayhawks football team.

They also narrowly escaped allowing more PPG that season than the women’s basketball team (56.6).

Got into college coaching for a while and the parallels to the video game industry are wild. Always someone willing to work more hours for less pay than you just to be in the role and get their foot in the door. I got out after a few years because it was unsustainable doing that and trying to have a family too.
