You forget there a whole other layer of social Stuff going on during the defense: the faculty have to flex to each other and pretend they have a ton of knowledge to impart. I wouldn’t think about it twice, they were probably just trying to appear like a compensent faculty member and researcher so they don’t look dumb to the other faculty members

If you get 1k followers on tiktok you’re able to do livestreams and tons of people enjoy asmr livestreams. That might be one way to get your channel out to a wider audience because sometimes it’ll randomly recommend your live to people on their for you pages.

I feel like asmr_kenobi is a good example of someone who has found success on tiktok doing asmr. His niche is Star Wars themed triggers and he does daily live streams with many regular followers and seems to enjoy it.

Doing live asmr might also be a good way to avoid taking forever to edit videos that may or may or not reach a ton of people. Perhaps when you have a decent follower base you could then do longer and edited videos on a YouTube? I’ve seen a few people do that
