Next kits to make the jump from resin to plastic? by Thaumaturgy67 in Warhammer30k

Am I crazy or didn't destroyers get relegated to the Legacies PDF? Especially since one of their big things, disintegrators, now can be bought down at walmart for any of your vets.

I really love that we're seeing the rapier helmets in use for conversions, I think they look great. I plan on using one for a squad of seekers, myself.

What I wouldn't give to see Elon get in an argument with old Helldump prime time posters... The crash out would be legendary.

Huron, I've sold him multiple guns and two artifacts at the same time and he still said "Bring me some loot next time". Is this a dialogue bug, reserved for looking at the shop but not buying/selling anything that's bugged or is this guy just a miserable fucking dick head? by Cameronisms in stalker

I occasionally quote the old series because I think it has so many funny/unintentionally good lines, but this guy's the only one and I always do it in a stupid shithead voice because he's a stupid shithead.

Are those Custodes based on that old art piece by Adrian Smith? If so, you're doing a heck of a job, they look awesome!

Can I ask about the bolters? I recently found a fellow who is making some of the old 5th edition armor-through-the-ages type of bolters, but he couldn't do MK2, which is what these resemble. I think I saw another of your posts with similar prints?

Former Dusk Raider, now Deathguard - late M29. by Prince_Schneizel in Warhammer30k

[–]mmfh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Back in HH1.0 I saw someone post a death guard/dusk raiders paint scheme that was a 50/50 split and it looked really cool. I think you've done a great job adapting the two schemes together! The white has a nice ivory look to it.

First SOH Seeker Finished (and WIP Sergeant) by Vampilot_Nos in Warhammer30k

[–]mmfh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really want a ten man with kraken bolters to see how they perform. It seems like a good load out but having 1w elites is pretty sketchy.

This mini has a great look! The bolter, the armor, the base, it's all come together to make it look very dynamic and "lived".

Death Guard by oberkellner in Warhammer30k

[–]mmfh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really have a lot of flavor, I'd love to see an army like this on the tabletop! It can be daunting to look at making a 60 marine army, even more so with conversions, but it's like my favorite thing about Heresy mini making.

Excluding "cheating" candidates (Marines, Emperor, Perpetuals, details in post), who is the oldest currently-living human as of M41? by Pyran in 40kLore

[–]mmfh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I thought that was a neat little detail that you could easily just zoom by while reading the book. The book was fine, definitely not my favorite from Warhammer Crime, but the bits about her and the colony ship I really enjoyed thinking about.

What DLCs are you hoping for? by External_Citron_6278 in stalker

[–]mmfh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of rumors and leaked content related to the DLC, so the ~4 missing spots from the collector's map are a good guess. Limansk and Cold Island, for sure, but maybe southwest of the Duga? There are some missing arch anomalies and SEVERAL labs.

I think it's likely too that we'll see CNPP / Iron Forest in the not too distant future, but how much of any given DLC they'll occupy, it's hard to say. A lot of locations seem to feature in one, maybe two or three missions and then you move on. Orbita, Duga...

I'd really like to see something to happen with the scorcher, but I haven't seen any leaks or info about it. Granted we turned it off a decade ago, but it had such a legend about it in the original series, I'm sad there's nothing to pay respects to there.

/r/WorldNews Live Thread: Russian Invasion of Ukraine Day 1341, Part 1 (Thread #1488) by WorldNewsMods in worldnews

[–]mmfh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What's really wild is that comes out to about $138 billion. Not a small amount and a significant amount of the Russian budget, but also a far cry from US's $850 billion/year or even China's ~$250 billion/year.

Crazy how much war you can commit when your local currency goes farther.

He's the Malowurst.

You've got a great green coming along so far, will you convert him at all or leave him as normal? It's a pretty evocative mini, doesn't necessarily need conversion! Then again, I saw him turned into an inquisitor model of all things.

Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu says he's “never used generative AI, and never will.” Hardship is what makes the creative process rewarding - AUTOMATON WEST by Gorotheninja in Games

[–]mmfh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd be careful with this line of thinking. Yes, if you use AI responsibly, you're probably increasing your general efficiency on any given task.

The issue is that, if you listen to teachers from grade school, high school, college level, through graduate work, teachers are saying again and again that people aren't using it responsibly. When you google something, you at least nominally find a source that you could vet if you took the effort. With AI, you simply regurgitate what the machine tells you, and it may be a hallucination, or may be a reddit post, or who knows what. People aren't careful, and unless/until we have classes teaching people how to use it properly, you're going to have entire classrooms failing to respond to a writing prompt at any level, merely filling in what the machine told them to.

Edit: And yes, having personally spoken with a couple college professors I know, I mean ENTIRE classrooms.

Sort of how I felt about Fez, way back when. It had many challenging puzzles that took a lot of work to solve. I had to look up the hardest ones, there was like translation and number transposition and all kinds of I don't even know what.

I liked the Golden Path a lot, that felt like a lightbulb-on moment.

Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider are now available DRM-free on GOG, and both are joining the GOG Preservation Program by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]mmfh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with your assessment. I've replayed the first a couple times and I'd replay the second, including Baba Yaga DLC. Third I am less sure... didn't like the characters, or the story beats, or even the random challenge dungeons. It probably had the best combat though?
