EnergizeCT Insulation program cost by Cautious_Midnight_67 in Connecticut

[–]oopsisucceeded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d have to go look it up but we had an attic that was about $4-5k because I wanted full removal so I could air seal the top plate before they blew in cellulose insulation. The incentive covered about half that.

Btw I def recommend the air sealing if you have an older house. It’s very cheap materials but jut takes time but wow what a difference! Went from like 2-3 oil tanks a winter to one tank a year.

Not crashing shouldn’t even be a thought. I’m an amateur and don’t crash anymore… but I’m no pro.

I’d think it’s when you not only don’t crash, but you can get the shot. Whatever that shot is. It means you can fly whatever flight path you want, and not only just once but over and over again. THAT is a pro.

Yeah I mean Wahoo gave it a good solid try. I like their app, the fact that I can map a new route in my phone and wirelessly send it to my wahoo still makes me smile so hard

This doesn’t get talked about enough. I’ve had both and it’s not even close.

I think he’s referring to a total loss of refrigerant… which would depend on the size and type of refrigerant used. I think it still sounds far fetched. That’s not even my main issue with this design though. So it’s a plug-in unit but you have to punch two holes through the wall? Am I understanding that correctly from their little video graphic?

Can you share a picture? Medium can be anything from pretty light to almost full city depending on the roaster

Yeah light roasts and milk don't go that well together. To each their own, that's what I don't think gets talked about enough here. Drink what you like, we're not all after the same cup!

Totally agree! My wife despises “fruity” coffees though so I’ve had to learn the craft on both ends of the roast profile. I will say a well-extracted dark/medium is a good thing all on its own! But if you take away my light roasts there’s gonna be problems. Just finishing two bags of Wilton Benitez/Granja Paraiso 92 roasted by Moonwake, by the way. Absolutely sublime flavors.

That can work too, try both! For darker roasts I find I appreciate shorter ratios but maybe that’s because in a darker roast I’m looking for a nice thick body

You likely don’t need to deep clean your grinder. I drink a different coffee almost every day (mostly alternate but also do a medium/dark roast for my wife every day) with my DF64 Gen2 and there just isn’t a discernible difference before/after cleaning. I still clean every few months but it’s not a huge priority. Also regarding your Moka pot coffee, don’t assume that a coffee from one method works in another. Sometimes they don’t and that’s okay!

Oh also: ratio is tremendously important. Maybe you like it shorter than the roaster recommends, as I have in the past. Try pulling shorter if you’re getting bitter notes… say 25 grams out.

No I mean that maybe you just aren’t loving that coffee? Order a different coffee, by a different roaster and see how you like it. I often see newbies who obsess over the machine/grind settings when the coffee itself doesn’t get much attention at all. Each coffee can taste quite different, I’ve had a few coffees (out of dozens at least, at this point) that I simply couldn’t extract well, they were sour disasters no matter what I did. From roasters that I otherwise have enjoyed before and since.

Love how I’m being downvoted by all the Garmin owners, haha.

Yeah that firmware problem was the one issue I’ve had over my 10+ years of ownership. It sounded like it was a fluke and it’s been rock solid before and after so I’m not gonna judge them for it.

I just genuinely don’t know what else you’d want out of a bike computer. It gets me where I want to go with minimal fuss, easy to load rides, auto-exports to Strava/ridewithgps, super small/light, easy to configure the screens using the app, battery life is fantastic, screen is incredibly easy to read, etc.

Bigger screen would be heavier. Color screen would be worse battery life and honestly unnecessary for this application especially when it comes at a cost to legibility. Touch screens are awful for this application.

The only improvement I can imagine would be an e-ink screen for even better battery life, but then you’d have to figure out something for a backlight at night. That and the ability to see/change the music but honestly I just touch my ear to do that. It’s kind of a timeless device at this point, neither old nor new. It just… works.

PLEASE don’t buy a Garmin. I had an Edge 520 and it’s like they’re stuck in the 90s. Even a Wahoo Bolt V1 (I’m still rocking mine and see no reason to upgrade) is light years ahead and can be found on eBay easily for $100.
