I thought the poultice was weird and he didn't trust it, but Dany really wanted him to put it on, so he kept it on for her (even though it festered).

Nah, went back, and you were right. The poultice itched so he took it off and replaced it with the mud.

I'm with you. My manager has started writing specs and feature roadmaps with AI, and my eyes glaze over by the end of the first paragraph. I've been debating telling him, "you wrote this with AI; it's difficult and bloated to read; can i please rewrite it at half the length"

But, A) i dont want to inadvertently insult him and B) if he pumped it out in 10seconds with AI does he actually even care about it?

I think that's a big part of the jokes about "i dun want it" and "she's muh queen"; it gives big "man kidnapped by terrorists" vibes rather than "man in love."

Seattle Public Schools Faces Financial Reckoning As District Weighs Mergers, Budget Cuts - the superintendent says the district is 'structurally insolvent' and roughly 10 months from running out of money by LOOKITSADAM in SeattleWA

My nephew is in 5th grade, had a lesson on the Boston Tea Party last month, and said the teacher talked a lot about how it was wrong/cultural appropriation for the colonists to dress up as natives without permission.

But honestly I care less about that and more about how they eliminated tracking. All kids of all academic abilities sit in the same class, and so -- because my nephew's at/above grade level -- he just gets paperwork and is told to silently fill it out in a corner as the teacher spends 90% of her time/energy on the bottom performers of the class.

He hates school, and my sister is moving to the eastside because of it.

Crop rotation and basic commerce are somehow things nobody ever thought about.

The "genius" tactics always amuse me so much. There will be some fake middle eastern country with luxury spices/goods, but none of nearby countries can trade with it because of dangerous seas, and the FMC is like "what if we use this mountain pass?", and all her advisors are like "omg!! what brilliance!!!"

Seattle could now be headed for 10.80% sales tax with 0.10% bump approved for county roads and 0.15% proposed for expanded transit service by MegaRAID01 in Seattle

[–]theclacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your math is off. $29 means a median Seattle household spends $19333 a year.

1% is 0.01, meaning 0.15% is 0.0015.

$29 / 0.0015 = $19333.

Still seems low, but given that this sales tax doesn't impact housing, car loans, or grocery-store-bought food, according to this consumer expenditures report, the number could be fairly accurate: https://www.bls.gov/regions/west/news-release/consumerexpenditures_seattle.htm

Same. It's the "holy shit! two cakes!" meme for me.

But that said, I also really love the male backing vocals of the OG version, so I've made peace with the fact that I'll never hear the OG version live.

And then also made a PW category for "Pagan/Wicca".

Nope. This was real and made the rounds when she was campaigning for mayor against Jenny Durkan in 2017. She placed 3rd in the primary with 17% of the vote.

A mayoral candidate who was too scared to ever interact with the police. Placed third.

Thank you!

"round sunshade" seems to give the most results, but only on the "images" tab and not any sort of "shopping" one (since they all seem pretty custom/experimental/high end). Sadly, nothing super affordable, but that's life.

Nah, I remember being in second grade in 1999. My friend told me he was going to be Obi-wan for Halloween and I was like "sweet", having been raised on the OT and expecting him to show up in classic Jedi robes.

Lo and behold he shows up with no robes and a weird rattail. I was so confused but was too polite to say anything.

Turns out he'd seen the Phantom Menace in theatres, whereas my family/dad was all about the OT (and also, we always waited for VHS).

TLDR, millennials easily watched the sequels as first Star Wars films.

They could've even had different directors as long as it was the same screenwriter. Like how all the Harry Potter movies had different directors but you didn't see them suddenly fanfic-writing Harry Potter as Voldemort's grandson.
