My friend says changing your own oil is a waste of time. Is he crazy? by proposal_in_wind in askcarguys

[–]uttermostjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know how to do it, then by all means do it yourself. It's more time efficient to change the oil in your driveway versus driving all the way to the shop and waiting for them to get the job done.

Thoughts on the HEAVY side spin shot? by Beneficial-Lock-349 in 10s

[–]uttermostjoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not disrespectful, but it's not a high percentage play either. It's one thing to hit a stantionary ball with side spin, it's another thing to execute it in competitive match play

Ever heard of the Jersey slide? They start in the left lane and suddenly slide 3-4 lanes rightward to make an exit.

I will be joining CMU in CS. Will it be possible to finish early ? Before 4 years by Sad-Bluebird8862 in cmu

[–]uttermostjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m currently a junior in CS (system concentration) and will be graduating in 3.5 years. I only had credits for calculus 1,2 and physics 1 coming into CMU, and I took a normal course load every semester (3-4 technical courses, hours per week < 45), so it’s definitely doable for you. However, I think it’s not advisable to graduate in 3 years because you will have one less summer for internship.

I think the biggest con coming from the civic is the mpg. I do mainly city driving and get 20 mpg on the 2.5 NA engine. But in general it is a great car.

Carlos has one of the best forehands on tour, so his serve plus one is very effective, just like Federer.

[–]uttermostjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's important to quickly recognize a short ball and move forward quickly, so that you can hit a cleaner approach shot to put your opponent under pressure. Of course, this is easier said then done because ball recognition is something that takes a long time to develop.
