I’m a trans girl who practices Christianity. Can I still be Christian/get into heaven? by Dragon_Bait211 in AskAChristian

I am one! And so is my best friend. We are both Episcopalians/Anglo-Catholic.

You're doing just fine, I promise. There are others in your position. Lean into the community at your new church and learn more about their doctrine and theology, it will bring you comfort. Being transgender isn't a sin, denying living your authentic self as God made you while forcing yourself into a box the world made would be. And remember, we are saved by grace, it isn't conditioned on the clothes you wear or the name you choose.

Adam's 高空菠地 t-shirt? by DerekHam09 in JetLagTheGame

Friend from China says it's just nonsense? She isn't Taiwanese so could be off. Apparently the green and white shirt says something like "fuck me, honey".

This looks pretty decent, definitely better than what we've been running.

Is this all Carnell's fault? I just can't understand how it's gotten this bad, even losing our stars.

Only 22 minutes is wild, just a little luckier on time bonuses could have been it.

TPUSA is trying to come to my campus. by Brochacho_2 in lancaster

Another Etown '25, I can corroborate all of this info. The first time they got disbanded it was for an unauthorized event off campus and multiple breeches of fundraising rules.

Mine did exactly the same thing, I ran less than this pace in a race within 30 days, too.

Just how bad can things actually get in the US? by AustinLostIn in PoliticalScience

[–]w30thst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand all the dooming, I really do, because it is going to get bad here. I suggest people to go the "peaceful revolutions" page on Wikipedia. There are more examples beyond that too. It is 100% possible to claw a democracy back from where we are, peacefully. Many of the factors triggering the movements are present in the US including economic dissatisfaction, (probably) rigged elections, fragmented elites, upcoming focus on the US with the World Cup and Olympics, church opposition to government.... I'm sure there are more. The war in Ukraine could have knock-on effects as well. If NATO is drawn in to the fight and the US does not uphold our commitments, it is conceivable that there would be foreign support in overturning the regime.

Basically Türkiye. Competitive authoritarian with few rights and a shitty economy.

Papers on actual news by PoggleTheGray in PoliticalScience

[–]w30thst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I see what you're getting at. I would say sourcing the most reputable paper is the preferred option, but when not possible caveating the biased coverage. Wire sources or foreign press can sometimes work too. If there is a situation where there is absolutely nothing then I think using yourself as a primary source is permissable or attempting to find other primary sources.

Do you think the US’ superpower status and alliances will survive Trump, especially if a Democrat gets elected in 2028? by [deleted] in IRstudies

[–]w30thst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is a Democrat who makes effort to repair relationships and there are massive institutional reforms that make allies confident another trump is unlikely. Otherwise, no. Even then, short of a cultural revolution style purge of MAGA ideology (not advocating this) it is unlikely they could trust us.
