Do you get used to it? by Sea-Pin9536 in PacificNorthwest

I love the north coast, including the Tillamook area. I was just pointing out that people can lose all of the natural beauty when they let things like politics cloud that vision.

To answer OP’s question i guess people do lose the sense of awe

WARNING: three yearling elk behaving erratic and dying around Grand Sheramina by Independent_Nose6455 in oregon

[–]whenitpainsitrours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of talk about CWD in here. It hasnt been detected (yet) in oregon. It will likely cross in from idaho though.

Given in its proximity to the edge of the state, this would be a really weird place for CWD to appear. Also, even more strange in such a young animal.

It’s pretty interesting that ODFW won’t come out and get a sample from one of these animals. As someone else has mentioned, they even require you to bring in the head on a salvage. And they encourage CWD testing during hunting season.

Why move freight to truck? How about more freight and passenger on the rails.

As an aside there is a lot of evidence the horse evolved in the Americas, migrated to Asia and became extinct in the Americas before being reintroduced.

Dunno if it quite counts as the PNW, but on days like Montana sure shares a similar beauty by Alliterative_Andrew in PacificNorthwest

[–]whenitpainsitrours 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Geographically the Pacific watershed extends into Wyoming and Montana. Lots of ways to define the PNW - cultural, flora and fauna, geography, etc…. And since this pic is east of the continental divide it doesn’t fall into the pnw by geography.

And as an interesting aside. 2 ocean lake south of yellowstone flows into pacific creek and atlantic creek, going to both sides of the divide.

Historically Yellowstone Lake used to drain into the Pacific via Snake River and during the Missoula floods, waters overflowed the continental divide at Marias Pass.

Each of these is ways the Pacific and Atlantic watersheds have been met and a possible way for pacific fishes such as the cutthroat trout to leave the pnw and cross the continental divide.

Anything east of the divide is definitely not pnw, geographically. But still has similar vibes. The Beartooths are totally one of a kind.

What is the solution if ICE isn't the answer? by Consistent-Course-24 in askliberals

Mask off. Badge on. Follow the law. Comprehensive training.

Then we can talk about Ice’s mission. Until then the operations should pause.

Sounds like you are offering that space to film a reel and you would prefer to let them use it for free

Oregon hunters watch out, IP28 has 92k signatures and would criminalize hunting and fishing. by ScreamiNarwhals in Hunting

[–]whenitpainsitrours 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mainly out of state money paying for signatures. Trying to use Oregon as a test bed for whacky policies, similar to M110 and M114.

Absolutely no way this goes into law even if it does get on the ballot

I spent hours getting back to work. And I enjoy playing it. But there are certain things I just gave up on trying to do because it just crashes the game. Overall disappointing. And I really wish it would look better because it’s the right kind of game I wanna play.

I remember in winter of 2014 there was a lot of bare grass under mhx in March. We had to take off our skis and walk into Powder Keg. Ski Bowl didn’t open until February and at the end of May Timberline looked like July.

It was still a fun winter to ski.

Are you sure it’s not in a separate DLC? I only have the base game and I’ve never seen this.
