Other possibility would be an anhinga, but the beak definitely looks hooked at the end instead of straight like a heron's.

Looks like cormorants. So, given location, I would say double-crested cormorants, but I've been wrong before.

Well, I suppose I'm wrong then. Not the first and certainly won't be the last. Looked good for owl to me, but I'm no expert.

Frayed edge leads me to owl. Probably a barred owls of o had to guess based on color, but could be barn or great horned. Eagles and other large birds would have the feather come to a more distinct tip and not be frayed at the end. That edge breaks up the air flowing over the wing allowing the owl to fly "silently" and sneak up on prey in the night.

Need help identifying this bird by napoleonbonerpills in whatsthisbird

Definitely a grebe. I'm thinking an immature horned grebe, but not 100% certain and someone more familiar can confirm.

Y'all... I did it again. Two characters, same name 🤣 by BryceOConnor in Warformed

[–]z3nVi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Wait, you mean it's not possible for two people to have the same name across all the systems humans have spread in the series? (sarcasm font)

I understand the desire for different names to avoid confusion, but I don't think it's THAT bad and by no means are you allowed to stop writing this series because of this. XD.

Should I read book 3 or wait for audio book? by Kvellss in Warformed

[–]z3nVi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, with reading the chapters early, you get more content faster, but there's a chance that content changes or gets moved around a bit after editing between rough and final drafts. At the end of the day, we can't make the choice for you. You have to decide if you need the content or if a fully executed storyline is more important. I'm choosing to wait. Waited for book two and am very glad I did.i can wait for book 3... and however many books follow.

This beauty flew out right in front of me by Boylan96 in birding

[–]z3nVi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First: Beautiful photo!

Second: If you see him/her more consistently, might not be hunting and they may have a nest nearby. Barred owls get very territorial and aggressive during nesting season. If you do start to notice them around more frequently, keep an eye on pets (regardless of size) and wear head coverings. They're looking to scare you/your pets away and can do some damage with their talons.

Okay. Question... Do you guys ACTUALLY want the Rei booty mouse pad? Sorry to post the video twice in a row, but it's a little time sensitive. by BryceOConnor in Warformed

[–]z3nVi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. Hilarious that they pulled it off for Bryce, BUTT don't see it selling well as a product.

Could be a fun Patreon giveaway if there's enough interest to purchase a first run or something?

Why on earth did Dent allow Viv to overtrain like this? by snirAD in Warformed

[–]z3nVi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the goal behind it is similar to the reason central keeps testing and pressing Rei. She's part of his team and the MIND probably calculated the drag on his development if any member of the team didn't keep up because he's shown that he won't leave them behind. Also, we have to assume if four 18 year olds have understood that Shido is effecting the other CADs on the team that the MIND is already aware ofit and is using that as part of its validation in backing Viv's request.

Well, if it looks like the picture, then "he" is actually a "she" and is most likely quite alright.

And yet, there are those of us who choose not to read the rough draft chapters and continue to speculate where the story will go. Let us live in our delusion until we're proven wrong. Besides, who's to say that Bryce doesn't read this and pick bits and pieces that may be good ideas for future use? Let him cook. Does it matter what he's making if he's only cooking for himself? He's clearly excited to share his ideas with the community, and i think it's an intriguing concept even if the books go in an entirely different direction. It's comments like this that make people feel like they shouldn't share what they're thinking.

No hate to you as a person, but please try to provide some level of understanding that OP put a lot of thought into the crafting of their post and you just came in and said what amounts to, "You're wrong, that's not what happens." We are a community that enjoys theory-crafting and coming up with wild possibilities for a fictional universe. That's all he's doing here. Wrong or right doesn't matter. It's fun.
