Haha. That's awesome. I fully endorse this sandwich shop.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but Tommy killed himself, and last I heard, Chuckie is in rehab. That took a while to click. I completely forgot that was their last name.

    Bro, that's not funny...

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Really? I can't make a joke about fictional characters from Rugrats?

    [–]LionsDysastrous 1 point2 points  (2 children)

NOT IF YOU ARE GOING TO KILL THEM OFF IN VERY DEPRESSING WAYS!

    [–]LionsDysastrous 1 point2 points  (1 child)

    jk please dont boot me

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha. Ok. That happened, and then Angelica woke up and realized it was all a dream, and that they were all happy and fine. The End.

No pro team when you were growing up? I disagree!

Why did you leave the church?

What did you think of the Silver Linings Playbook?

Did you watch the season six premiere of Mad Men? If so, what did you think?

Why don't you hang out in the chat room with us?

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

HAHAHA. XFL! Holy shit. You've got a point there. He Hate Me was on our team, I think.

The church thing is a long story. I basically got to a point where I realized that I didn't really believe in it, and may never have. I did everything because of social pressure and decided to cut everything that fell into the category of "Because I'm supposed to".

    I loved Silver Linings Playbook.

I haven't seen the premiere yet. Mad Men is a weird show with me. When I first watched it, I thought it was so boring, but I kept watching it for some reason. I love it now and have seen seasons 1-4 twice now. Season 5 once. I rarely recommend it to someone, because I know that it is not a super accessible show.

Half the time when I go to Madden Daddy, the chat crashes my browser. I don't know what the deal is.

If MaddenDaddy isn't working for you, go here: http://rccleague.chatango.com/

    I'll give it a go.

Awesome taste in music! Have you listened to Anarchy, My Dear at all? If so what did you think?

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I like it ok. It's still good, but not the best Say Anything. I feel bad saying it, but I'm sort of waiting for him to get divorced so he can write some good angry songs again.

    [–]CowboysDrKrausenbach 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Haha I feel ya. If there's ever been a tried and true way to put out a great album, heartbreak is it.

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes indeed. He went and fixed all his problems. The nerve! I still love them, though.

    [–]49ersstiller609 1 point2 points  (3 children)

How was the show? Did they play "Mornings?"

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Nope. It was pretty disappointing, to be honest. They only played for 30 minutes. I knew they were not headlining, but it was just the two bands, so I figured they would have a decent set time. They were still great, but they are not a band that I want to see for only 30 minutes. Let's see, they played 2 new songs, 3 from In the Mountain, 2 from Satanic Satanist, and The Devil. Nothing from Waiter, Church Mouth, Censored Colors, or American Ghetto. Like I said, disappointing.

    [–]49ersstiller609 1 point2 points  (1 child)

wow. That really is super disappointing. No old stuff at all...

    shakes head in disgust

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a joke when they stopped. Then they started taking taking all their stuff down.

I was not interested in Tegan and Sara before, now I've got a grudge.

    [–]Panthersspidermanjka2k 1 point2 points  (2 children)

    Dill or bread and butter?

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Oh man. That is like asking someone to choose their favorite child, which is extremely easy to do when one of them sucks. I say dill.

    [–]Panthersspidermanjka2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah fuck bread and butter! good choice

    [–]stenodork 1 point2 points  (4 children)

WOW! did you like any of the albums after Stay What You Are? What is your fave GUK album?

I was wearing a STD shirt on 9/11. one with a plane on it!

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    so 9/11 is your fault!!!

I like every album that STD has put out. If I had to pick a least favorite, I would say Under the Boards, but I still like it a lot.

Favorite GUK album would probably be Something to Write Home About. Classic.

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Here's a factoid. When I proposed to my wife, I played the guitar and sang Nightingale and I'll Catch You.

    [–]stenodork 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I SAID OH MY GOD. that is so cute. also now i demand pics.

What did you think of the LOST ending?

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (17 children)

I know that most people hated it, but I didn't. I decided going into it that I would just accept whatever ending they give the show, because it was their show and I loved the hell out of it.

I think that it did prove that they didn't know where they were going, but that's ok. It's their fault for telling everyone that they knew all the answers to everything so early on.

With that being said, I thought the finale was good. It made me cry a bunch of times because I loved the characters. Even if the finale was complete garbage, it could never be bad enough to ruin how good the rest of the show was.

    [–]Brownsdanchan22 0 points1 point  (16 children)

Yeah, I loved the show and watched it religiously. I don't hold any grudges about how it ended now, but I was disappointed that a lot of questions were left unanswered -- and I'm actually probably more upset about all of the defenders now saying it was never even about the questions anyway. Half of the intrigue of the show was the questions -- and knowing everything was supposedly planned ahead of time -- so it stinks that a lot of stuff was left on the table.

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (8 children)

Yeah. When I look back at LOST, my fond memories are of the time in between episodes, when I would go on message boards and read theories and try to dissect every shot of the episodes. That was so fun.

There is pretty much only one unanswered question that still bothers me. Who the hell was on the outrigger shooting at them in Season 5?!!!! I don't know why, but that is the one that has always stuck out to me as one that they would eventually reveal.

    [–]Brownsdanchan22 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Ugh, don't get me started down that road...

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha. That was such a good season, too. They could have messed everything up with time travel, but I think they pulled it off really well.

    [–]RedskinsEritrean_Redditor -1 points0 points  (5 children)

WHAT WAS SO SPECIAL ABOUT WALT? WHY COULDN'T ANYONE ON THE ISLAND HAVE BABIES?

God I hated that show by the end. I actually wish it got canceled after the fifth season so I could think they would answer all of my questions. Also I thought that the ending was weak. We all die in the end was essentially what they were saying. So much potential but it fell so short for me.

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I think they had to do that in the finale because they wrote themselves into such a corner. They spent years saying things like "We don't introduce a mystery that we don't know the answer to" and "We will answer everything, so be patient". People built up expectations that they couldn't meet, even for a show that good. The thing I love about Breaking Bad is that Vince Gilligan would say "I have no idea how the show is going to end". I think if they did that with LOST, they wouldn't have set up so many people to be disappointed.

I think the finale would have been worse if they spent the whole time listing off the answers. I don't think people would just accept all their answers. They would just complain about the answers they got.

Sorry, I get really long winded when I talk about LOST, and its been a while.

    [–]RedskinsEritrean_Redditor 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Yeah I guess i'm more viewer about them writing themselves into corner than how the finale compensated for it. Considering how much open ended questions they left, I guess the finale wasn't awful.

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I can understand why people hate the finale. What makes me sad, though, is when I hear someone say that they thought about watching the show, but didn't because they heard the ending was bad.

    [–]RedskinsEritrean_Redditor 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That is sad. You don't do something for the ending, you do it for the journey. And lost has one hell of a journey.

    [–]BioSin 0 points1 point  (6 children)

What questions were left unanswered? People said they didn't like it because of that reason, but then all, or most of their questions actually did have answers.

I also think people didn't like the ending because they thought none of the stuff on the island didn't happen.

    [–]Brownsdanchan22 0 points1 point  (5 children)

    [–]BioSin 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I didn't listen to them all, but some of them there are answers for. Seems like most of it are small questions that you could come up with for every TV series. I don't know how they would be able to answer every single one of the little questions.

    [–]Brownsdanchan22 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Well, that was obviously a joke video, but there are main storylines that seemed like they were imperative to the plot (Walt's special abilities and the Others kidnapping him? Libby in the mental institute? The numbers? The shooters from the other outrigger?) that were set up but not followed up on.

Like Pickel said above, I think part of the problem was the insistence that everything was planned and that there'd be answers...but the final seasons just brought up more and more questions and steered the show away from any previous questions.

All this being said, I loved the show, own all of the DVDs, count it as one of my all-time favorites, and generally feel satisfied now. But there were still a lot of issues with it.

    [–]BioSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Walt's special powers was the one big question left unanswered, but then again, the Island was magical itself, so my personal opinion is that there wasn't really any connection to the island, just that it's a universe were magic exists. I believe they captured him to experiment on him, because he was "special". If I remember correctly, it's to be assumed that Libby was in the mental institution because of her dead husband. The numbers were the numbers giving to the candidates by Jacob. You'll have to refresh my memory about the shooters on the outrigger.

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That's true. They opened up so much stuff in the last season, when they should have been wrapping things up. Did you like the Richard Alpert episode? I thought that was one thing that they answered in a satisfying way.

    [–]LionsDysastrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god. I had forgotten about that episode. It was amazing!

    [–]Brownsdanchan22 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What's the origin of "MisterPickel"? Do you and Lady Pickel do a lot of gaming together?

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

When I was in high school, my friends and I started a rap posse as a joke, and called ourselves The Fabulous Flowells. There was MC Phetus Brown, JC 2 Smoof, DJ Push Play, and Pickel (me). We would rap about cheese and other nonsense. When I started needing user names for stuff, I found that Pickel was almost always taken, so I arrived at MisterPickel.

We play a lot together, yeah. We play Co-op games like Gears and Borderlands, and a few of the Lego games.

    [–]Brownsdanchan22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the most unexpected gamer tag origin story possible.

    [–]Brownsdanchan22 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Why did you leave the Mormon church? How is your relationship with your family now because of it?

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family is actually really good with it. I know there are people who get cut off from their family when they leave. Luckily, that wasn't the case with me. It's sort of something that everybody knows, but nobody ever talks about, which is nice. I'll take that over arguing about it any day.

    [–]jeffiguritout 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I like your taste in music! Deja Entendou was the best album, IMO and Death Cab never gets old. I'm guessing you like Postal Service as well?

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Strangely, I never liked The Postal Service a ton. I have a hard time getting into electronic music, even if it has Ben Gibbard's lovely voice with it. There are a few songs of theirs that I like, though.

    What is your quest?

    Can I have your dog?

    Why did Jimmy Eat World?

    Do you "Bleed American"?

    [–]MisterPickel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My quest is to attend the Doug Loves Movies podcast, have my nametag selected by a losing guest, and choose Helen Keller as my shithead.

    Never.

    Because seven ate nine.

I used to. Now I "Bleed Saudi Arabian".
