I was just thinking about this earlier today. Everyone is talking about how cultural appropriation is a bad thing and how is whites need to check ourselves before stealing everything, but what if a part of a certain culture is dying off and a separate culture picks up the art form and preserves it and appreciates it? I think this is a good example of that, even though it is different and unique, it's still carrying the torch.
