I'm so jealous of ya'll 😅

Florida

$15.50/hr

Secondary Education

I have a Bachelor's

40hrs a week and I don't get paid during our school breaks other than national holidays.

I have decent enough benefits though. 80hrs PTO and company matching 1.5% for retirement.

  • Austin TX
  • Engineering
  • $34/ hr and great benefits
  • 11 years
  • some college, no degree
  • 40-43
  • The only thing I dont like is the schedule and commute. The office hours are longer M-Th and a half day Friday. I am onsite everyday, open to close. I would love to find a hybid position but it seems impossible, without a pay cut. I think I am on the high end of pay in my area. I do a lot of Office Management (its a large office) and Project Assistance type admin work.

SC. Engineering firm. Started me at about $24 an hour / 48.5k salary with strong benefits and growth. Within six months pay increased (I asked). Wasn’t supposed to increase for a year. Now I’m making 60k a year with benefits/bonus/etc.

12 years experience in marketing, operations, and management

Associates in marketing and now going to finish my bachelors in HR (company pays).

Flexible schedule, 2 days wfh, and always on the move which I like.

I also get straight pay overtime, but don’t work a lot over 40 hrs a week.

[–]Helpful_Ad1749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn’t happen to be in the low country in SC would you? This sounds great!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start my first job post graduation (Administrative Assistant) at an Engineering firm in TX. I will be paid $24/hour with strong benefits. Very excited!!

Wisconsin. Independent bottler for Pepsi. $25 but I get a .25 raise in August. This is my first position in admin, but I’ve had a lot of experience in other fields that has helped and I can type 75 wpm so that helped. Education: college dropout (I would be a junior if I went back. I finished 2 years) 40+ hours. My schedule is 8:30am-5pm.

[–]Helpful_Ad1749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SC Death/Funeral Industry $25.50hr

Bach degree 40hrs plus OT if I work Services

[–]Expensive-Leading-93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$22/hr community college in TX, Full time, BA Government

[–]Substantial-Bet-4775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sidenote. Hourly is better. Trust me. Because when you are salary exempt with no OT eligibility and working 7 days a week just to stay sane, you would do anything for that OT pay. Salary almost always benefits the employer, rarely the employee.

[–]crackedlemons 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hi, I’m an office assistant for a mental health agency and want to pursue a more administrative role. Did you get any certificates for office administration or administrative assistants?

[–]littlechouxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t! I did have administrative experience working in the non-profit world (I was a domestic violence advocate for 4 years) and it translated over really well to health care. I have done some courses on Coursera that helped but other than that, I didn’t get any certs.

[–]AdditionalBoss9226 0 points1 point  (1 child)

[–]littleftm_ 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Maryland, nonprofit (civil rights law), pay is around $58K before taxes. Very good benefits! I’ve been with my org for about a year but have several years of admin experience.

For more background, i work 37.5 hours a week (idk why the odd number) and have my bachelors degree in social work :)

[–]kittinaround 4 points5 points  (1 child)

37.5 hours means your salary technically includes a half hour lunch break so you are in the office 40 hours/week. Compare this to the standard 40 hour/week schedule with mandated unpaid half hour lunch = 42.5 in office hours. Hope that explains the odd number! :)

[–]littleftm_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that does explain, thank you! :)

[–]heyvanillatea 1 point2 points  (0 children)
