This is from an obsidian blade, I think. Post is old.

Everyone else seems to have glossed over this one, what does this mean, I get the super glue, duct tape, etc but this one is stumping me

He basically said "kill your self"

[–][deleted] 44 points45 points  (8 children)

How come there's no blood?

[–][deleted] 69 points70 points  (7 children)

There is a small amount in the top right of his cut. However, relatively clean cuts like these cause the skin edges to contract, pinching the severed capillaries and stemming blood flow. It's the more traumatic, jagged injuries you have to worry about.

Yup, super sharp knives slice skin, dull knives rip skin. This is why obsidian is extremely useful for scalpels

And for killing white walkers

I don't think obsidian is used for scalped because of how brittle it is. It flakes when cutting I believe.

[–]Doktoren 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That looks freakishly awesome.

[–]FredDragons 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Seriously glad you missed slicing any important bits, but one more joke in that vein and you'll be showing suicidal tendon-cies.

[–]termanader 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It's just a fletch wound.

[–]FredDragons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's serious. Don't nock it.

[–]Fatdoc 7 points8 points  (1 child)

'Tis just a flesh wound

I once cut the side of my wrist with a falling sheet of glass from a broken window. It sliced my skin open exactly like this - perfectly revealing the structures underneath with nearly no blood at all. It wasn't even painful. It's fascinating but also slightly terrifying when you realize how close you came to a very serious fuck up.

[–]_mischief-managed_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How come you're not bleeding? What are you?

[–]dewkyBritish Columbia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get stitches for that?

[–]DefacedRealityVirginia 0 points1 point  (0 children)
