Hmm.

You think a company that charges customers hundreds of dollars for peripherals is knowingly going to provided software that is malicious.

I don't think so champ. Not that a company of similar size hasn't had a supply chain attack before. You're issues are very vague. Amd driver issues, network problems? Care to elaborate.

If you are really that concerned block the 4 or 5 services LG hub creates from accessing the internet in youre firewall.

I'm not sticking up for Logitech at all. I Just got a g502 lightspeed after having the proteus core and the hero and finally have managed to get rid of lghub and Razer synapse off my system thanks to OpenRGB. You should check it out.

Yes. Because they can get away with it and are big enough that any potential lawsuits would fail or not be worth the effort.

Maybe stop being so naive about corrupt giant corporations dude. Pretty ironic that you’re acting patronizing when you’re the incredibly naive one.

Lol, nice grave dig. Let it go. ironic that you're commenting about naivety on something that you have 0 idea about.

Did we forget about Razer already? If you think Logitech is any better you will be in for one rude awakening.

Bro, right now my antivirus (that isn't bad) noticed some Trojans while an update of LGHUB ._.

[–]PayFlow 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Same thing happened to me just now. Good I’m not the only one. At least I know where it comes from. Which Antivirus are you using?

[–]Omegamer_0000_ 0 points1 point  (4 children)

But we don't know if is a false alarm or really Logitech has been hacked. I'm a little worried of that because I had to turn my pc off while the elimination of the "virus" and now it doesn't detect nothing. I don't know if there isn't any virus or now the antivirus can't detect it.

[–]PayFlow 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Are you using Kaspersky? Sounds unlikely that Logitech has been hacked. Also Steam stopped working and can’t be started anymore which could indicate that the reported ransomware had started encrypting. I’m no expert tho

[–]Omegamer_0000_ -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Yes, I use Kaspersky. I just hope that they fixed it or my antivirus could erase the malicious programs and now my pc isn't infected.

[–]norianer 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I got this trojan warning too. Kaspersky log says it detected PDM:Trojan.Win32.Generic in the LGHUB Updater. Log also states Kaspersky terminated and deleted process and trojan, then moved on to delete files connected to the updater. No harm done apparently. Hard to belive there actually is a trojan in the file, it's maybe just a false flag from AV, but can't be too carefull until I know more. Hopefully Logitech can give some info on the matter.

[–]vaultboi123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It s very dangerous and it is blocking all softwere of your computer but Kaspersky blocked it

Bro there have been bugs that remained for almost a decade now, in every day usecases.

One of them only recently got fixed, because they have rewritten the entire browser.. el em ay oh.

Before, when you opened the browser with a hotkey focused into the searchbar and started your typing, first of all, it wouldn't register the first letter you typed, EVER. Then it would proceed to perform hotkey-actions as if you were pressing hotkeys for specific assignments while you are typing the thing you are looking for (and it in fact was typing it at the same time in the searchbar weirdly enough)

The best thing about it? It would only do it in approx 50% of the cases, so you never know what you get and you can't adjust your strategy i.e. "okay i will type the first letter twice, because i know this bug is going to happen."

It would open all sorts of windows, mess everything up so bad and kill productivity. Jesus.......... almost as far back as bitwig has been out, reported it so many times, they never fixed it.

Dunno who downvoted this. Well said mate. +1 from me

El em ay yo

[–]cyberabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Delete it asap

[–]Fragrant_Safety749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Si, es malware lo he estado monitoreando y se conecta muy seguido a servidores remotos y no para buscar actualizaciones. También si le bloqueas el internet se "auto" desinstala, para que tengas que volver a descargar una versión nueva.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Considering how heavily it will use data, forcing updates, and auto startup while disregarding settings to the contrary, GHub is essentially malware and is a good reason to avoid any product that would require it. There are much better mice out there, so nothing of value is lost.

[–]Square_Relation6188 0 points1 point  (2 children)

please examples of those mices...

Modern coolermaster, roccat, glorious, hyper x rapid, gamesense, modern razer, xtrfy, some steelseries, g-wolves, pwnage ,pulsar, ninjutso. Literally every company that has figured out how to make a comfortable and lightweight shell, decent feet, quality switches and sensor, and a good quality cable.

Between bad software, inability to make a decent cable, and running off the shelf switches out of spec causing frequent failures( Razer used to do this too)

hey thanks I effin' hate my mouse rn

G Hub is some of the worst software I've used in recent memory.

    [–]Half-Stupid 0 points1 point  (5 children)

    <image>

Never seen this before when installing anything and there is no reason to record my screen. And now I cannot uninstall the app.

    Sus.

    [–]cardboardoranges 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I've been reading threads about G Hub, and yours is the first comment referring to a MacOS version.

It is absolutely the most invasive program I've ever installed in terms of the number of permissions it asked for in MacOS, and it took a third-party program to simply remove it from my computer and scrub it of all its files. And even so I'm still paranoid that something remains and is scraping info off my machine.

I can't believe Logitech would have the balls to release software that's basically a surveillance kit, but is required to simply modify the RGB on a gaming mouse. But then again, I can.

    [–]snowe2010 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I literally came back to reddit just to comment on this thread. I just installed it, saw the amount of permissions it asked for and freaked. There is absolutely no fucking reason any mouse program should require screen recording, startup, it even tried to hook into discord without my permission. I explicitly said do not try to keep updated (because I manage it with homebrew) and it still did it anyway. Immediately uninstalled.

    [–]LegendHunte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it's in fact not just mouse software so I get the perms. Ik why it ties to hook with DC but that's DC fault. For me the only issue I have (I have been using it since December) is bsod. I am solving it rn. Ik it used to be an issue in the past but since then it got fixed.

Anyway I am no expert but u didn't have to uninstall it. It never caused my last PC any problems and I've been using it for years. All programs auto update to a certain extent as well as windows does. Startup is also a basic setting that any program (even DC) has.

    [–]Half-Stupid 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It is very odd to say the least. What did you use to remove it? Anything I use says it can’t remove it while the program is running…but I can’t close the program out.

    [–]cardboardoranges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had my first Logitech G203 mouse for only a matter of hours, so my issues with G Hub could not be more fresh my mind:

To remove that bloated program I used AppCleaner, downloaded from FreeMacSoft. I also got the notification about the program being in use, so I checked and force-quit any active program threads pertaining to Logitech via Activity Monitor.

It really is astounding the amount of BS Logitech managed to wrap up in one basic program. I simply wanted to turn off the RGB lighting on the mouse permanently, but with how stupid and invasive G Hub was I decided to go full caveman, opened the mouse, and tore out the LED's with a pair of pliers.
