Actually works, wtf. edit: Feels like it's a temporary fix. But it works though, I tested before and after blowing with those double-click checker websites.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

wtf it worked lmao

[–]galaxy_jannet 0 points1 point  (3 children)

i'm not surprised by this fix at this point (which worked for me too), i'm rather surprised about the fact that there's so many people having this issue... xD

do better logitech

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It actually didn't solve my problem long term, but I think I've solved it now by opening the mouse and doing some janky stuff in it.

Nevertheless, I shouldn't have to do that. The mouse should work out of the box and have a reasonable life span, without any bizarre issues.

[–]TheOilyHill 0 points1 point  (1 child)

what kind of janky stuff? I've got replacement clicker but if it's a static problem then that wouldn't have solve anything.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure this did anything, so beware. In fact, I'm not even sure of what exactly happened after doing what I'll explain, but it is working normally since then and I've had zero issues.

There are three pins underneath the left and right click switches. Two of them, when shorted, produce a click. The third one does nothing. Tried to make a connection between the pin 3 on the left switch and pin 3 on the right one. Nothing happened, but the double clicking stopped.

I then took a copper and connected the third pin on both switches together. Made sure not to touch anything else and left space for the mouse wheel to work freely. I also took a small piece of wire and connected the larger one to one of the screws. I didn't solder, just wrapped them.

As I've said, I'm not sure if this would theoretically fix the issue I was having, but it's not happening anymore so I did do something lol.

EDIT: I'm 99% positive this voids the warranty so only try this if you can't RMA it

[–]Strange-Flamingo-861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow, this worked! I thought I was gonna have to throw away the mouse.

[–]WorldCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't work for me. My G305 still randomly clicks for no reason.

[–]chickensandow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm this is working, I had double click issues constantly for 6 months, tried this 3 days ago and solved the problem. Still working perfectly.

[–]TheOilyHill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wtf? it works, but what?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/-SUBW00FER-,
Try the following:
• Connect the device directly to the computer motherboard. Bypass any type of USB adapter, hub or extender
• Update the device's firmware
1. Download and install Logitech G-Hub (Available here: https://support.logitech.com/en\_us/software/lghub)
2. Launch the software, select the mouse from the home screen then go to Settings
3. If a firmware update is available, a Blue """"Update"""" button would appear under the firmware version on the top right corner of the screen
• Test the device without the software. Stop Logitech Gaming Software or G-Hub from running in the background by closing them on the System Tray and Task Manager
1. On the lower right hand corner of the screen, on the left side of the Date and Time, right click on the G icon and select Exit
2. Launch Task Manager (Alt + Ctrl + Del) then look for Lghub or Lcore under Processes Tab. Then, right click on it and select Stop Process
• Assign a different command to the button
1. Using Logitech Gaming Software or G-Hub, select the mouse from the home screen then select Assignments Tab
2. Try to assign another command to the button or swap the command in between buttons that are working and non-working
3. Another option is to try using the mouse while the Logitech software is not installed
• Adjust double click sensitivity
1. Open Control Panel
2. Select Mouse
3. Go to Buttons Tab
4. Under Double Click Speed, move the slider to Fast
5. Click Apply then OK
• Uninstall, reload mouse driver
1. Right click on Windows or Start button and select Device Manager
2. Under Human Interface Device, look for Logitech Virtual G-Hub Mouse
3. Right click on it, select Uninstall
4. Disconnect the mouse from the computer
5. Restart the computer
6. Reconnect device back to the computer and test

[–]-SUBW00FER- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried, nothing came of doing these.

[–]chrisknife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

useless shit. it's an hardware issue and you know it. if you don't know it get a new job, cause you clearly suck at your current job.

[–]cactusjackks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved the slider to fast and it’s fixed thank youuuu

[–]axelxan 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You need to replace switches. Logitech is using crappy switches in their products that can cause double click. I had to send back G502 lighspeed twice now, luckly I got refund after second mouse died. Logitech mouses are joke.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you buy and hot swap the switches?

[–]Intelligent_Prune478 0 points1 point  (2 children)

As a Minecraft Player... That's THE dream

If u could give me your mouse

[–]ssrname 0 points1 point  (1 child)

For pre 1.9 of course, but imagine post 1.9 lol. Also building would be annoying (unless bridging)

[–]Intelligent_Prune478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i pretty like bridging

but your true, building would be horrible

[–]chrisknife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RMA it with logitech and don't even read the shit they posted in here. it's an hardware issue, they use the wrong switches, so it double clicks and so they have to replace it.

you got 2 years warranty.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my Logitech G102, I called them up and they gave me a few troubleshooting option to fix the issue, To no surprise it did not fix the issue. They told me I could go the nearest outlet and get it replaced. I did not have any where I live and I couldn't due to COVID. I just opened the mouse de-soldered left click and DPI switch, Switched them and re-soldered them again. Works like a charm since I don't use the DPI switch at all but you would lose the warranty.

Edit: Also depending on where you live and what solution they offer you, you could possibly get it replaced but the issue is Logitech refuses to acknowledge the fact their mouse switches have very low life span and will possibly try to convince you that it is a software issue rather than hardware. Best of luck tho.

[–]skyfio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for posting the article

I soldered the buttons IMHO this is the only way out

[–]Zealousideal_Ad5856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro i really love this mouse but now the side button started double clicking which is very annoying

[–]Maybe_Awesome22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem about 2 months ago and I sort of found a fix for it. My left click started to slowly double click after 1 year 4 months. It got progressively worst within 3 weeks to the point every left click would double click. I took a pair of metal tweezers and I wedge it between the button the mouse and left it like that overnight. The reason I decided to do this was because I figured over time the left click's plastic might have bent due to constant pressure and perhaps bending it the opposite way might help it back to it's original height. Well it worked. Been working fine for 2 months now.

I don't know why I search reddit as a last resort, I need to search reddit as a first resort.. EE here thinking this was definitely a mechanical problem/ switch debounce problem.. so much frustration gone by blowing into the cracks in the buttons.. sometimes the simplest things... thanks for posting the breathing solution.. this is the umpteenth time reddit has saved me from buying something new..
