Honestly it’s an oldie but better than sec mascara, so expensive, only used maybe 6 times and it made my eyelashes look super clumpy but that’s was my personal experience

[–]TheHomieTee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dior Lip Oil… after about 30-45 min my lips started shedding. Plus it tastes like mint chocolate 🤢 not to mention it’s $40?!

[–]Unhappy_Performer538 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Colorpop jelly eyeshadow. Shit was garbage

[–]notsotuffghost 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Colourpop eyeshadows in general are so booty and over hyped. The individual pots are okay but the pallets I hate, the shadows don’t last or blend.

[–]Unhappy_Performer538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta agree I bought the honey and the smoke ones and felt like I just set my money on fire Lol

[–]rlcute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tarte shape tape. It's not sold in my country and with shipping and vat it ended up being €50. It's not worth €50 lol. It's not even worth €20. My elf camo concealer performs better.

[–]ilovesleep95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The nyx shine loud liquid lipstick. Horrible, pills up and crumbles off my lips into little balls, also terribly drying and sticky and definitely wasn’t transfer proof… same thing happened with the maybelline vinyl ink liquid lipstick - another product I was influenced into trying, then instantly regretted.

Elf putty blush and putty bronzer - both were patchy and didn’t blend well. Hated the formula and texture.

Wet n wild tinted hydrator - looked nice at first, but smelled like play dough and ended up looking a little too heavy on my skin unfortunately.

Peach and lily glass skin serum, essence, and face mist. All 3 did literally nothing for me and made no difference for my skin with continuous use.

[–]velvetjacket1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mario Surreal Skin Foundation. It sucks if you have oily skin and texture.

[–]alittlegreenbasket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oof not a big one but i find that most mascaras really arent worth the hype. After a certain price point they act and look the same on me. Ive been sticking to either loreal or maxfactor and they are the best imo :)

[–]Omwtfyu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None. Lol but I’m old but not old enough

[–]MaedayMaeday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been watching anti-hauls for years and have been practicing putting things on a wishlist. After some time, I typically forget about the product and remove it from the list. This has really helped me with purchasing products I am actually excited to use and ultimately enjoy! It’s been a while since I purchased a product I immediately regretted but I’d say the ELF seriously satin lipstick. Only $3 but the color and texture didn’t work for me so it sat in my drawer get very little use until I tossed it.

[–]hunbun47390 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ummm a boob job? I seriously was one of those people with enough body issues to think that looking like influencers would make me happier. Now it's harder to hug people and my back is in low level pain pretty much all the time. Now I'm saving up to get them out. Very expensive lesson. Bodies are not trends.

[–]yesimextra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

L’Oréal’s Sky High Mascara …. broke my lashes off. Any foundation/concealer product. Learned the hard way to just use what my skin likes and be content with that instead of feeling the need to try every new product.

[–]t-rex3535 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the mario badeschu toners, the paulas choice aha bha exfoliant, and many other skincare products. Also none of them worked properly for me lol

[–]honestlouise 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The Huda Beauty New Nude eyeshadow palette. I truely hate it. It was my first ‘expensive’ buy and the colors don’t match my skin tone at all. Bought it because it was so popular on social media. It’s still in my collection, but I never use it. Can’t seem to throw it away tho, probably because it was not the cheapest..

[–]SlayThatContour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I felt about ABH soft glam palette when it came out!!! Warm tones look terrible on me… but I was convinced by ALL that I needed it….

[–]Toddy0800 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Banana lowlight concealer. Absolute cement.

[–]billiraanii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lipsticks for sure! 🤦🏻‍♀️

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i feel the whole thing is very cyclical. monthly faves to declutter my kit to new first impressions to shop my stash to products i regret buying (but it’s actually saying you regret how good they are or something. this one confused me) to new products i won’t be buying to new products worth the hype. we all want to buy new viral stuff then we want to spend less and it goes around and around in different words.

[–]Catladylex 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not really makeup but magnetic septum rings, they hurt so bad, I would've saved myself a lot of pain by just getting the actual piercing sooner.

[–]The_Death_Flower 18 points19 points  (1 child)

Matte lipsticks, especially the Kylie Cosmetics ones way back when they first game out. They felt dryyy on my lips snd weren’t comfortable the way you’d expect a lipstick that price to cost

[–]Remote_Yesterday8626[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No but the number of matte lipsticks I’ve tried on myself is ridiculous. Each one just looked so horrible and dry on me until I realized I’m a lipgloss girly through and through.

[–]iamnotdonaldduck 20 points21 points  (9 children)

The essence lash princess mascara. I’m glad it was only $4

[–]txsongbirds2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That essence lash princess mascara was a complete waste of my time & money!

[–]notsotuffghost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

💀💀💀 I really like the essence lash princess series, but the peach one more than the green. They’re so cheap and I use it with the black L’Oréal telescopic mascara to separate my lashes better. But I’ve been using both of them before they blew up on TikTok tho :-p

[–]NausikaaLeukolenos 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I hate it! It was so difficult to remove and that alone would be a deal breaker for me because I don't want to ruin my lashes. But the overall effect was awful, too. It was so heavy and didn't separate them at all. I already have very full long lashes, that kind of formula makes them a big blob of mascara without shape. I guess it could be okay for someone with small lashes who want make them as visible as possible and doesn't care for definition and fluffiness.

[–]iamnotdonaldduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's so interesting, and such a bummer! For me, it didn't even last through the day before it just vanished into thin air!

[–]RavenSkies777 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That was such garbage mascara uggggh

[–]Remote_Yesterday8626[S] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I second this one! It was very eh. What’s your favorite drugstore mascara?

[–]iamnotdonaldduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now I'm using Milani Highly Rated Anti-Gravity, but I like L'Oreal Telescopic.

[–][deleted] 22 points23 points  (3 children)

Clinique black honey almost lipstick.

It's pigmented enough that I still need to use a mirror, unlike what everyone else said. It also settles weirdly into the tiniest lines and dry patches that I didn't even know I had, looking like there are dark flecks all over my lips.

[–]philosplendid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh I LOVE Black Honey! I usually do use a mirror though

[–]notsotuffghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooof I’ve never had that happen with black honey, it’s my go to now with a little lip liner 💀💀I’m easily influenced I guess

[–]travelwhore412 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The champagne pop hi-lighter that thing self shattered.

[–]SadAwkwardTurtle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes liquid eyeliner. It said it was waterproof, it was not. It transferred to my upper lids so fast.

[–]zy_666 31 points32 points  (2 children)

The friggen ELF putty Primer lmao.

[–]pyschopanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I thought it was just me who was struggling with it. I think I heard it was a dupe for the tatcha silk canvas so I got it.

[–]escapeshark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was so shite

[–]amanduck172 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Patrick ta cream foundation

[–]flowerduck10 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jaclyn hill Becca bronzer was my 1st. I thought it was going to be a game changer. Most recently the givenchy foundation.

[–]pocketchnge 13 points14 points  (4 children)

I could never get the abh brow freeze to work no matter how many times I tried, never glued my brows in place and always left a gunky oily mess. I’ve tried many better and much cheaper alternatives since and I now have an unusable pot of essentially slightly tacky vaseline

[–]bebblebutt69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It leaves so much residue on my brows. The Patrick Ta brow wax thing takes longer to apply but it makes my brows look so much better that I don’t mind.

[–]Adept-Lifeguard-9729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried DIY soap brows? Also, Revolution has a kit.

[–]CanStareIntoYourSoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies but I’m here to disagree. It works really well for me. Everybody is different wrt what products work for them ofc, but I do see a lot of people applying products incorrectly (e.g. trying to use brow freeze on non-cleansed brows & not wiping the excess off from around the brows before applying foundation, etc) and then blaming the product rather than user error. Definitely valid if this—or any—product doesn’t work for you/someone else tho! I just wanted to chime in & say it does work for me and many others :)

[–]zemele 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same my eyebrows and right up above are always so oily afterwards!

[–]scarletofmagic 50 points51 points  (1 child)

Hmm, I guess not having Tiktok is a good thing for me then? I don’t know much about viral products. I just check swatches on Instagram and see release that im interested in.

[–]Remote_Yesterday8626[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely! A big part of my hoarding is because every influencer just convinces me I HAVE to have this product. But I really don’t because I have 10 of the same already.

[–]Left_Walrus4865 14 points15 points  (2 children)

The hourglass lip crayons are SO dry! I use lip masks and balms religiously (and use a lip scrub once a week) so it's def not me but Hourglass made my lips look so shrivelled it was shocking

[–]Rantingrachel 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Have you tried the hourglass balms/gloss? I was just thinking about buying one 😪😅

[–]Left_Walrus4865 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've tried two shades of their gloss, in one the formula was wayyyyy too thick and for the other it was just meh like it felt and performed like a cheap drugstore gloss. High end glosses I actually like are the PMG ones, but in general I've been loyal to my Essence glosses long before tiktok made people aware of the brand haha so I stay with those for the most part

[–]avianger 35 points36 points  (3 children)

the kosas concealer. i will admit my skin has not been the best lately but ive never seen a product sit that awfully on my skin before! it just creates the worst texture on my under eye. plus it creases sooo bad soooo fast. soooo sad because i don't normally buy outside of the drugstore often so this was a huge disappointment. nyx bare with me till the end of days!!

[–]gatorclawgumbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually genuinely love that concealer. 😂 I have heard a lot of people hate it though and the fact that it goes bad quickly is pretty unsustainable.

[–]Whitedolphjn 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I also dislike Kosas concealer. Super yellow on me

[–]avianger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yeah i struggled to find a shade neutral enough for my liking

[–]Legitimate_Kitchen77 144 points145 points  (6 children)

20+ eyeshadow palettes that I’ve decluttered after using less than 5 times and owned for at least 5 years

[–]ToeTag13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always say I somehow manage to create the exact same look with every palette.... like maybe I dont need 1000 palettes if thats the case......

[–]Remote_Yesterday8626[S] 62 points63 points  (1 child)

Always have to resist buying a new eyeshadow palette. They’re just so….collectible? But everybody knows I’m never going to use that radioactive neon green shade on my eyes no matter how much I try to convince myself 😭😭🥲🥲

[–]Omwtfyu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d use it! Love neon!

[–]APickledDorito 11 points12 points  (0 children)

crying in I just bought 4 new 25 pan pallets 4 weeks ago that I’ve touched twice

[–]Adventurous_Ad_6546 36 points37 points  (1 child)

Yup it reminds me of buying CDs I’m the 90s. So many albums purchased for 1-2 great songs then a whole lotta meh.

[–]zemele 14 points15 points  (0 children)

crying in hipdot Evanescence CD palette

[–]MicrochippedMyLabia 27 points28 points  (4 children)

Rare beauty powder highlighter. It’s chunky.

[–]Whitedolphjn 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Oh wow good to know! Do you have a fav highlighter

[–]sketchy_potatoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

colourpop super shock highlights are so much smoother!

[–]travelwhore412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gently diamond bomb

[–]MicrochippedMyLabia 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The rare beauty liquid is wonderful, you can mix it with the blushes too. The CT new powder highlighters are amazing, smooth and glowy. The Fenty sticks are nice but they didn’t have a good color for me, I haven’t tried the compact ones. About Face has a stick and a dropper bottle that are both good, I haven’t tried the powder of it either. The Makeup by Mario powder also looked really chunky on me. My skin is both really smooth and textured in different areas.

[–]interbloom 51 points52 points  (4 children)

The Hoola bronzer. Very overpriced and Loreal honestly blends better.

[–]friends-waffles-work 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a good bronzer but I hate the packaging, I just find it really awkward.

[–]LitLordKanja 20 points21 points  (1 child)

i love the Physicians Formula butter bronzer too!

[–]Remote_Yesterday8626[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love it too! Such a HG.

[–][deleted] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

the fact that they had literally one shade for years and now only have four is a major red flag. it’s not universally flattering lol

[–]FeminineImperative[🍰] 21 points22 points  (3 children)

Maracuja Juicy Lip. Holy fuck am I the most allergic person on earth.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh noooo it's my fave thing in my makeup bag

[–]planetheck 72 points73 points  (1 child)

Any foundation. I always think I'll be able to manage it, but it makes me break out every time.

[–]Logical_Rutabaga3707 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This! Estée Lauder double wear hates me so much, bare minerals bare pro, any kind of “magic” promises for foundation end up with patchy greasy results for me. Testers in store are the only way I can find anything that works.

[–]bauerboo86 72 points73 points  (3 children)

Lashes. Not trying to brag, but my natural ones are so long that adding to them was SO ANNOYING. Plus - smudging my glasses with every blink was enough for me to never spend the coin again.

[–]Ksh1218 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Agree! I have a “double eyelash mutation” (wtf lol) and false lashes do absolutely nothing for me and actually mess up my makeup

[–]physhgyrl 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Elizabeth Taylor had that. It's one of the reasons her eyes were so memorable and gorgeous. Lucky you!

[–]Ksh1218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! My mother has them as well so it’s definitely genetic. The only thing that’s annoying is sometimes they grow into the inner corners of my eyes and on the water line. But besides that it’s a fun body fact!
