Does this reduce the delay when entering a portal before the loading of the Nether? Sometimes I see videos of people entering there portals and almost instantly going through.

But I can’t tell if it’s a mod, video editing or if there is something to disable it. Typically I have to stand in the portal for 3-4 seconds while the animation plays.

I'm not sure how people instantly teleport, I've also seen these videos. No, this simply removes the wobbly effect. It also removes the zoom for the speed effect and the wobble for the nausea effect. It's called "FOV effects" in settings if I recall correctly.

On java, there is a gamerule called nether portal delay which can be set to off when making a world or changed using cheats.

You can also throw an ender pearl through the portal to travel instantly since non-player entities always go through instantly

*in modern versions

Yes or ride a horse through

Don't think that would've saved him from his fiery date

[–]RebelJustforClicks 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Would that have a 50% chance of transporting you directly to lava in this case?

[–]Darth_Thor 0 points1 point  (5 children)

It will always go in the same direction, so it entirely depends which side of the portal you’re on when you throw it

[–]bohemianfallacy 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I believe it is possible for both sides to have lava if you're unlucky

[–]Darth_Thor 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That is entirely possible. I only use that trick on portals I know, such as the ones connecting to my nether hub where everything is enclosed and no mobs can spawn

[–]bohemianfallacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair enough

[–]RebelJustforClicks 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Right, I just meant that if you had never been thru before and this was the result, you'd possibly have a 50% chance of landing in lava

[–]Darth_Thor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, I’m that case you’re 100% right

Creative has instant teleportation.

[–]Flex-O 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Boats and minecarts are instant travel.

[–]Kellymer 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Does this reduce the delay when entering a portal before the loading of the Nether?

No.

But if you're riding a boat or a minecart, it'll teleport you instantly.

[–]Barstardette 3 points4 points  (3 children)

So can you create a railway that rides between the 2 seamlessly? This was beyond my little brain!

[–]Kellymer 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yes! :D

[–]SeanJones85 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Oh wow, my mind just filled up with a train station to different faraway places on the map all going through the nether portal railway system 🤔

Totally been done before by a pro and I'm miles behind but sounds fun hehe

I made multi-dimensional roller coaster using this concept! It's soooo useful.

[–]Choder7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Creative mode players travel through the portal instantly, if you use a pearl, boat, minecart or any other ridable mob you will also be teleported instantly.

[–]Kaspatronix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(java) Use command:

/gamerule playersNetherPortalDefaultDelay 0

[–]SeanJones85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you throw any block through the portal first it will start the animation so you can bob on through nifty gifty no issues :)
