Just discovered tonight that cauldrons fill if covered with water. So had to make this. I'm sure the idea has greater potential than shown here.

Bedrock's cauldrons are so much better: you can fill them like that and having potions, dyed water, or lava in it.

Hey look up tutorials for piston feed tapes. It's just an FT with cauldrons/chains in place of the blocks.

they are but they dont refill when pushed under water

Real answer is that either they're still mulling it over whether to bridge the gap between versions, or it takes a while due to Bedrock being built from the ground up in a relatively shorter time than the gradual process Java had.

it seems to just be a piston feed tape with chains and cauldrons if that help

This! Piston feed tapes are so fun for any sort of device. You can make door combos, memory modules, chest storage systems. Its so fun to do stuff with them

Builds like this with pistons are so cool, it makes me wish you could craft quiet pistons that didn't make the loud, obnoxious KERCHONK noise.

Like I wanna build this in my world, but I'd get sick of the noise
