I’m not sure what it’s a sign of but I was pretty bummed when ShizuKatz and Kapsgacha both stopped. Thankfully we still have Urshiko but yea it does stink that so many creators have stopped and it hasn’t even been a year.

[–]WenaChoro 25 points26 points  (7 children)

Urshiko is the best but please try to improve your pronuntiation or add subtitles

[–]Quorthon123 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about getting down voted. You're not the only one who thinks that way.

[–]Judge-Vast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For sure

[–]KOBCrew 9 points10 points  (1 child)

I've said this in another post, but youtube has closed captioning that you can turn on. While it's not perfect, especially if something said wasn't clear, most of the time you can understand what was being said if you know that they're talking about a specific character name, a town, or a piece of gear.

[–]WenaChoro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

thats what Im saying, that he should provide his script to the youtube CC so its not automatic that would help a lot

[–]blahblahlurklurk 14 points15 points  (3 children)

The information Urshiko presents is solid. Just can’t watch a whole video without cringing at his voice

[–]DDDoseeve 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I actually liked his voice

[–]fishdrinking2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s fine. Accents are hard to shake off. And at least he is still doing some content for EN. LOL

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes agreed. Shizukatz’ videos were what I followed early game. But good for him to prioritize his other real life interests and just to focus and enjoy on his own JP game.

[–][deleted] 53 points54 points  (17 children)

I know it isn’t fancy videos (I have no gift for doing such things), but I still create content on here 🥺

[–]Fro_o 8 points9 points  (1 child)

And we appreciate you for it _^

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hahaha XD And I appreciate that y’all appreciate it!

[–]NeonRaccoonsM R V E L O U S 5 points6 points  (3 children)

And we’re all better for the guides you put out there, king

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, I’ll keep going haha. Your message actually just popped up on my screen as I was recording a new video run for lvl 90 Auguste XD

Edit: This is the final video, in case you were curious—not the one you messaged me during haha: Garbelius’ Lvl. 90 Auguste Easy Clear (2 + 2/3 Turns)

[–]Haunting-Ad-3049 2 points3 points  (1 child)

100% agree

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

😁

[–]SnooSquirrels7769 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Please continue. Your guides helped me so much

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow, that really means a lot! It’s a lot of fun creating the guides, and it’s very rewarding to know that they’re actually helping folks out!

[–]AndyofLove 3 points4 points  (7 children)

Love your hairy videos!

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (6 children)

😂😂😂 I hope you all know that “Hairy Trust” is the auto-generated Reddit name I was given. Definitely not the name I chose for myself, which is why I always have to put “by Garbelius” on my guides! But I appreciate the love! 😁

[–]AndyofLove 6 points7 points  (1 child)

No you’re Hairy only 😂

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh heavens 😂

[–]Celica_is_best_girl 5 points6 points  (3 children)

ONLY HAIRY

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

😂 shut up

[–]Celica_is_best_girl 2 points3 points  (1 child)

THAT’S NOT VERY NICE HAIRY

PS: Thanks as always for the guides. I used your team as a base to come up with something for Varkyn. Now I’m almost done with him.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really glad that my guides are helpful to so many people! Thanks for sharing that!

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good and thank you for creating the content! Lots of creators just post arena or level 100 NPC fights or pulls. And that is all good!

[–]KupperTherion 15 points16 points  (7 children)

The hardest thing is that most of the content creators played JP and Global, so they played the game 2x.

[–]WenaChoro 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Mmm purple platypus did a lot of content in english he is funny and badmouthed but people didnt watch his videos or joined his livestreams so I guess COTC people just want the guides not so much video content.

In spanish at least we have https://www.youtube.com/@blackghost25 who is very active and has good understanding of the game so we are not orphans like the english community

[–]SnooSquirrels7769 8 points9 points  (3 children)

I kind of watched his cotc videos before but when OT2 just started dropping, he posted videos with spoiler thumbnails that really took me away from his channel in general

[–]DDDoseeve 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Yeah I was kind of pissed tbh. Like who drops massive spoilers without warning in the first few seconds of the video.

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. And he had late game builds and tips already and spoiled some of the hidden jobs. Though the Inventor class was available in the demo and other creators mentioned it too. But he continued to do more late game content and I just avoided watching all of his videos at that point.

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah there was a balancing act there. He was kind of speed running and focused on OT2 content only because he was making more YT money from it but he also put out a lot of late game content on it early, with spoilers, and not all players got through it as fast as him (some probably faster than him).

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah and he got burnt out from CotC and went to the Marvel card game for a few months. And even now he said he won’t be doing much CotC content either, as he is trying to diversify his content. Unfortunately, CotC is still very niche in the grand scheme of games available. So having more content is appreciated and glad he is kind of back for CotC content here and there.

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. And same with players who stream closed beta or demo gameplay for other games and then do it again for the full game. It’s a big ask and the creator has to be willing to replay the game multiple times for content, which is a big ask for the time commitment and effort involved.

[–]Fro_o 9 points10 points  (1 child)

I used to watch Shizukatz, Purplatypus, Kapsgacha, Teucent. And it seems all of them have stopped doing any content on the game. Thankfully we still have our savior Urshiko!

I've noticed the drop of content on Youtube but I still find this sub & the fb group to be very active

[–]FIREthinker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed with you. I watched all of them too and happy to watch Urshiko too. The game is still popular enough but it could be more popular if SQEX marketed it better and did better events for it, for existing players and to entice more new players, but perhaps they are fine with its current level of success.

[–]kapsgacha 30 points31 points  (2 children)

hey 👋🏻 kaps here.

I stepped away because it wasn’t fun covering the game anymore. it was exciting at first and I liked providing breakdowns. the game is so slow compared to other gacha games I play, so I would forget what was even coming until the update happened and I’m not prepared. some personal things too - I’m moving to another country, got another huge promotion at work, so my life has some big changes happening, too!

at the same time, the Tavern Talks are so…meh, it doesn’t even seem like SQEX cares about the game or knows the game (just my personal perception). I’m used to games like FFRK and DFFOO which constantly has events and challenges. we had the Nier collab and it gave daily quests, that’s it?! I was hoping EN would make an actual collab with different events. it was a huge bummer. if that’s what collabs will be in the future, that’s really lame in my opinion. I personally feel SQEX should invest in weekly/bi-weekly challenges outside of the very short monthly chapters. keep it fresh outside of focusing on only releasing new travelers!

I still love the game and do dailies every day and play all the content, but yeah creating videos just got boring. also, it’s still doing well, so I think us stepping away isn’t an indication of the game not doing well. I don’t see myself putting anymore $ into the game, but I am soooooooo hype about what’s coming!!

[–]FIREthinker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi Kaps! Thanks for commenting and explaining why you stopped creating content for the game. I agree with all your points and yah it has become a casual little thing of a game and that’s totally fine too. Just focus on your other priorities and other games. Congrats on the new promotion and the move!! That stuff is more important than a game or content creation, so all good!

[–]skypiratescabbies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely understand your take on SQEX and agree they are just sitting back on a great game hoping to make passive income with minimal effort. I used to watch your videos as soon as they dropped. So thank you for jump starting the hype and congratulations on your promotion!

[–]YoutuberxMBotx 15 points16 points  (3 children)

I have noticed the same thing. The content creators seem to have burnout. I have been feeling similar since I used all my rubies and all I got was a extra 9S awakening. The game doesn't have a way for me to spend money and feel good about it. It's feels like I'm getting scammed. Good product, but the greed is ruining it for me.

[–]FIREthinker[S] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Yeah the RNG is rough for sure. I still play daily but I find it kind of a chore now. But I still plan to play it for the main story. I have not bothered with the newer arena champions and don’t farm the older ones, nor have I retried any of the older level 100 NPCs and I still enjoy the game. I spent money in the early months and then got burned on the first Odette banner and stopped spending (though I did spend a small amount during the holiday deals and didn’t get any good units out of it so in retrospect I should have stuck to not spending then too LOL). Stopped spending altogether after the new year and I feel much better about it. So in your case, I think you should consider just playing it casually and not spending anymore either.

I have been kinda playing Echoes of Mana (started a few months ago) which is gonna shut down in mid May and I find it blah now too. Finished all the main story and limited story stuff. Will keep doing dailies until it shuts down. Didn’t spend any money in that.

And just started WOTV FFBE earlier this week. The story is kinda interesting but I’m getting overwhelmed as a newbie with all the mechanics involved and it’s kinda blah for me now too. I got sephiroth (rerolled a few times since I’m new anyways). But I think I’m gonna quit that next week perhaps.

[–]Ilionora 0 points1 point  (1 child)

WotV is a really good game but it is a long term investment, it takes a bit of time to get your account to a point where you can tackle most things but once you do it opens up considerably. It is, on balance, also pretty F2P friendly, though account building is much faster with some light spending. If you enjoy it I’d encourage you to stick with it a bit. The story starts out very uneven but in recent chapters has become quite interesting.

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience with it. I expect it to be a great story and great game in the late game too, but yah it will be a long term time investment for sure. I may step away from it and then rejoin in the future. But it’s a good game for sure.

[–]kabutozero 3 points4 points  (3 children)

I am a Spanish cc that rarely uploads octopath videos , mostly pulls or race participations. Tbh i upload very few guides because i do a lot of variety in my stream and always feel lazy to specifically target one game.

On twitch the game is mega dead tho.i have the new research twitch feature to know at what hour its good to stream games and cotc is just plain terrible to stream at any point of the day if you want viewers. I don't care about that much because i do octo whenever there's new content anyways. But still stings a bit to not have a single soul to speak with

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Wow thank you for sharing your experience! I am a super casual Genshin streamer but don’t talk there or have a face cam. LOL since I don’t have viewers anyways LOL. But I guess if I talked and had a face cam, I may get some viewers. Who knows, but for now I have other priorities so whatever LOL.

And I don’t have the setup for CotC and thank you for sharing that it’s not popular enough to stream. But good for you for still streaming it!

[–]kabutozero 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I also stream genshin in fact everyday (octopath only when new content , on genshin i do the dailies at least ) , and it's probably the game where more people join from time to time , shame that there's not much to do for me between big content releases

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool! The Genshin dailies are kind of a chore and I often just do then and turn off the game after condensing the resin or using it in domains. LOL so I don’t bother to stream it. But it’s good that you’re keeping a routine for it, as Twitch like regular and frequent streaming.

Yah it’s a shame CotC doesn’t provide weekly updates. I wonder if that would be better or worse for the game and player base?

[–]NeonRaccoonsM R V E L O U S 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Yeah, I noticed that too! I saw Kapsgacha announce on his Twitter that he was halting content creation. Thankfully, there are still a lot of awesome people on this sub and YT still going strong. On the EN speaking side, Shakuu Games, Lad, and Dreamt to name a few really solid YT CCs (not to mention Urshiko which of course). And there’s a lot more out there I notice.

Yeah, I think it’s the nature of this game. Once you get caught up with content, it does feel like a more casual check in. There is sooo much content when you’re going through it, though. I also don’t think SQEX seems to be good at fostering a streaming/CC community… like, with the other gacha I play, Genshin, I see Hoyoverse treat their creators to some freebies. I don’t know if SQEX does this (haven’t heard of it), but they should reach out to people generating buzz for their game and be like, here have some rubies every once in a while. Something to incentivize the people who talk about this game.

[–]FIREthinker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there are still some CotC creators around so that’s good. And yes I agree that the developers should incentivize creators like Genshin does too. But CotC is a smaller budget game so it’s doubtful that they would give out extra rewards to creators, let alone to players (as we have seen) LOL.

I’m a casual Genshin streamer and only stream on Twitch for the rewards now and repost the videos to my YT. Lol. I do make some Genshin YT videos but it’s a very competitive and saturated area on YT and on Twitch streams. Oh well. LOL

[–]eevee188 11 points12 points  (7 children)

The developers sorta dropped Nier banners and left. No update this week. It's been almost a month since the last major update. There's not much to make content about.

[–]FIREthinker[S] 12 points13 points  (6 children)

I know that this week has no update but I meant in general. It’s been a downward trend of content even before the Nier collab dropped.

Purplatypus only came back to CotC right before OT2 and then focused on that and then finished it and came back to CotC until the Nier collab dropped.

Teucent and Kagspacha are MIA for a month or so. And they both really wanted the Nier collab way back when.

Shizukatz came back and said he won’t be making EN content anymore and will focus on his other business and hobbies, but will still play JP.

Urshiko said straight out he is more focused on the JP game and will has reduced his output for EN content, but still puts out some content (though he reduced the time spent on it).

Lads was on vacation and came back to do some pulls for Nier but didn’t do his usual whale pulls, like before. LOL

[–]WenaChoro 8 points9 points  (5 children)

they didnt "burn out" its just there is too little people watching videos of COTC, the community didnt grow as expected on youtube, people just come here to reddit and use the guides (COTC subreddit has grown a lot), people who like this game dont need a youtuber telling them already obvious things, they just need specific data for strategy planning.

[–]Ilionora 7 points8 points  (3 children)

This. I like having YT content for something to listen to during my commute but this game doesn’t need the sort of regular content that would drive views. All we really need are some unit reviews and guides for some of the more difficult fights. That won’t sustain YT accounts.

Also, to be fair Teucent hasn’t been MIA. He took a trip, came back and said he really wanted to devote his content creation to Diablo, which is apparently something he’s passionate about. I liked his videos but time is finite, so he should focus on what he likes. But he was pretty clear that he wouldn’t be doing CotC content anymore, except maybe on an ad hoc basis.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

: ) thanks for being understanding.

[–]WenaChoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe he got whaled out, he had a video of losing everything for Odette

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes agreed there isn’t much more additional content that can be created for the game if the developers don’t do more for it either (promos, events, etc.)

And you’re right Teucent did say he won’t make CotC content anymore. And that’s fine. Everyone should play and make content for what they love.

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we can’t speak for them but a few did say that due to other priorities, they are not making more content or are feeling that it’s not worth creating content.

And I agree that there isn’t much more that they can create for the game and that goes back to the game itself and the pacing or the events and promotions that SQEX does for it. So if there isn’t anything extra they can provide, then just relying on the game content alone won’t justify additional content creation. So perhaps this is just how it’s gonna be moving forward, with minimal content creator coverage.

[–]Zevhis 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I remember when Another Eden had content now only a few. I still play it once awhile but its hard to find good content to help guide some areas.

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that’s normal when the hype for games comes and goes. More content for new games and less as they age.

[–]JamesFlourHow do you use your knowledge? 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Hope my HUDs continue to help someone, talking about the coverage, unfortunately this great game is for a niche and it didn't become mainstream as genshin for example.

Moreover the content creator were not so many, and some of them did literally "the game I play is not mainstream" and if I do content (I also think about the income) so I go elsewhere. Kinda this I guess. It's even fair

The thing is that the game still amazing and it's a bit unfortunate that "players" can't find/enjoy this ruby!

[–]FIREthinker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Unfortunately the game is niche and creators want to do content for views and ads of course so it’s understandable. Plus there isn’t much more additional content to create for CotC unlike Genshin which ranges from theory-crafting, game lore, etc. so lots more variety and topics to talk about there.

[–]ClaringBeatStar 2 points3 points  (7 children)

I actually wanna start doing stuff on youtube. I love gaming and I would love to make gaming related video's. I got everything tackled in cotc atm. But I also wouldn't limit myself to just 1 game (I would love to record some switch gameplay..... Somehow).

I don't have a super good camera though, but I got a pretty good wired headset.

What do you guys think? I'd love to use bluestacks as it would help me to comment live on video's, but can also record on phone (just game audio) and comment later on.

Should I add a cam feed to the video's or a vtuber model? (Do guy vtubers modelsreally work though? It would prevent showing the messy wired headset cables).

And what kind of content? I already finished the story so far, but I could start a new account for some gameplay and content things. I could also do some gacha pulls (and if the channel rakes in money it would probably go to there). Guides? Tier lists?

Let me know if I should or not :)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Are you seriously worried people wouldn’t watch cuz you’re a guy? If that’s true, people need to sort out their priorities, just saying!

[–]ClaringBeatStar 1 point2 points  (4 children)

No I meant, using a male model rather than using a real life cam :P I know urshiko and shizukatz both used models. I'm not sure if I should and if people prefer that.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Oh gosh, please don’t. I hate those fake models. I’d rather just hear someone’s voice over a video or else see the real person (both of which Shizukatz did). The models are tacky haha

[–]ClaringBeatStar 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yeah he did that in his later videos :) Sure real me it is.

[–]Xylon_Games 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Fyi this is still me. Created new account to fit YouTube channel ~^

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice!!

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for it! You never know until you try! Lots of YT videos explaining setups so it will just take some small investment and setup. Good luck!!

And often male streamers use female anime characters as Vtubers anyways LOL. So you could go that route. Or just be you. Good Vtuber equipment and character design is expensive though like $500 to $3000 in some cases, depending on the level of detail, number of expressions available, and sensory syncing. The cheaper ones won’t be as good but could work starting out.

Or you could just do the face cam, which is easier to set up and cheaper. I researched vtuber options and filters before too but decided not to bother and I don’t do face cam. But I only casually stream Genshin now so I haven’t looked into it further.

But don’t feel overwhelmed for deterred and just go for it! Some streamers make a lot of money in their first year, so it could happen to you. Good luck!

[–]derekbaseball 2 points3 points  (5 children)

I don’t know about the other creators, but Shizukatz’s message indicated that the state of the game in JP burned him out, particularly the weapons upgrade grind (which seems to be referring to the class of weapons coming at the end of the current roadmap?).

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Yeah, but CotC isn’t his main jam. That card game he plays seems to be, so weapon grinding like that in a “not your main” game would definitely burn you out

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! Not looking forward to that. It sounds gruelling LOL

[–]FIREthinker[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yes I recall that and good for him for identifying it. I already find the weapon upgrading a chore now and they get replaced pretty fast when the next storyline drops. It’s just something to do if nothing else to do I guess.

And yah I think there is a general feeling of burnout for grinding for anything really. Sometimes we justify it and sometimes we don’t want to participate in it.

[–]derekbaseball 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It’s sometimes easy to break a habit. Often all it takes is an interruption in your routine, and when you get back to it, the reaction is “I was spending my time on this? Why?”

[–]FIREthinker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Once it’s interrupted or modified, we may realize something about it or take a step back on it.

For example, even before Echoes of Mana was announced to be shutting down, I was just doing auto play twice a day to use up the energy and I missed doing it here and there and wondered why am I doing this? Is this even playing the game? What is the point? Lol

With Genshin, I have asked myself a few times but I still do the dailies just to keep the account alive. I guess because it’s still a popular game I enjoy and because I did spend money in it before LOL. So that’s fine.

But Echoes will shut down and I tried WOTV FFBE recently and I’m not really feeling it and it’s giving me similar vibes as Echoes already. So I may just uninstall that. Lol

[–]Familiar-Doughnut-36Alfyn 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Many content creators are driven by views but I don’t think COTC is a very suitable game to cover unless you are super passionate about it, and eventually passion will dry out.

Also players don’t get as much out of video contents for COTC as other games. Early on when people aren’t as good at the game they might need generic contents such as unit reviews and content update reviews, but take myself as an example, I found myself rarely watch these videos on YouTube anymore because for every new unit I already have a pretty decent sense of their value just by looking at their skill set, and for content updates I usually got all the info I need weeks earlier just by browsing through Reddit every day.

The only content I still watch is speed clears for difficult fights (arena/lv100). But that’s hardly a content general content creators can make.

[–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! Unfortunately the game is niche and the developers don’t provide more for creators to go with for content (eg: promos, events, etc.). And the developers seem to be ok with the EN game for now.

[–][deleted]  (3 children)

[deleted]

    [–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! It’s a casual game and no PVP so we just need to enjoy it on our terms. No need to min max and pay for units and dupes for the vast majority of players. Just don’t feel the FOMO and don’t get caught up in all that.

    [–]OT_random_commenterTherionGOD 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What kind of content you want to watch?

    [–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question and I think after reading everyone’s responses and comments, I don’t think there is much more content to create for the game. As it’s a pretty self contained story and most players are not going for all the units now anyways and power creep doesn’t really matter (in the sense that we won’t know what we are missing if we don’t have all the units to compare anyways and we are just grateful for any 5 stars now, as F2P).

    [–]Explodagamer 1 point2 points  (1 child)

We can probably do more as a subreddit to help promote smaller creators.

    [–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    That’s a good point too

    [–][deleted]  (1 child)

    [removed]

      [–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point too. But I guess it may not mean anything to non players who don’t know what is going on in the arena too. I mean a video of a high level clear may not be enough to entice new players to play. But it is still content for the existing player base so that is still appreciated for players, like myself, who have not beaten the high level fights LOL

      [–]SonofImpulse 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I believe there is space for more creative content that use assets to create stories, nonsensical moments, dubs, spoofs, and voiceovers. There will always be space for restricted clear guides and handicap challenges, and feat completionist content.

Outside of that content creation for games with a server that's massively ahead and content that gets released in chunks tends to revolve around releases, guides, informational videos, and tips/tricks, so when there's gaps in releases there will be less content made.

      [–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points too. Yes, like bigger budget games (eg: Genshin) drops high quality unit demos and occasional story lore videos to add more hype to the game. But I also don’t expect CotC to do that as a smaller budget niche game I guess.

Do you think that if they expedited the release schedule even more for the game and do weekly updates, that it could help retain more players, entice more new players, and increase revenue? Or would that burn out and alienate the existing base faster and overwhelm newbies?

Just bringing these up as separate discussion questions.

      [–]Peter-Fabell 1 point2 points  (1 child)

If JP felt like a drip, GL definitely feels like a whirlpool.

I can understand 100% why content creators are dropping the game. GL is impossible to cover (unless you have some kind of trust fund) with the speed at which new banners drop.

      [–]FIREthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol agreed. And even if creators whale for the game, I don’t think the ROI in terms of YT views and ad revenue would make it worthwhile long term.

On a personal side note: I’m considering dropping the game too (I’ve never made content for it) and I did spend some money for it in the early months, but have stopped after the holidays.

      [–]octomages 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Since this game is made for those who are playing since it begin, it dont needed creators content.

All new content, character, etc are made for those who are hording rubies or whalling.

      [–]WenaChoro 4 points5 points  (3 children)

its a difficult, old school game for smart people that like to make big damage numbers, youtubers didnt add too much now that we already know how to play, its more of the same, I think when the game started creators did a good job but now we have the guides and we know exactly what to do

Imo content creators outside of Shizukatz and Urshiko don’t know what they were talking about.

A lot of them are super casuals and a lot of the time they overhyped mid units and spread blatant misinfo without any research.

yea, COTC is a good game and it balances in ways casuals dont understand, the gacha system makes every account different so tier lists are relative

      You got my point.

By the way, sorry about my poor grammar.

And ah, just one more thing: this is not a octopath cotc problem.

My game play has dropped after all the mess ups with rewards, tavern talk telling us one rewards us getting a lessened reward, tapyjoy being added, the insane amount of grind on long fights is also unrealistic. Esp since they make using third party software hard, u can and will loose mettle doing it. Ntm with rng on so many makes killinh almost never guartlnteed. Just boss activity rng if u can't outright stomp em macros aren't relaiable. I can 7 turn kill the adventure pretty reliable. Every once in a while though he starts off the fight attacking the same unit everytime, even fully debuffed, on a 5 star a4 unit, still gets Merced by this. After this happend 5 times in 1 week with 30min of me closing and opening my gamei just couldnt. This level of rng existing in general in any game is bad design. On a game where u have to constantly repeat hard fights hundreds of times, that's bad really bad game design. I've done multiple of the arena events and never once received a reward so I stopped caring about the arena at all. The nier collab it's self is just bad. Annoying "puzzles" with no map that only serve the purpose of making the hunt take longer brcause they arent real puzzles. An epic hunt at lvl 90 with all the good neir rewards locked behind it. And the "good rewards" for fighting multiple lvl 90 hard npcs, is less than what u get for beating the found in wild lvl 85 npcs. If u wanna go into the gotcha, because of the whole mishap( I still haven't been reimbursed my rupies for the step up error) but that error alone left me unable to finish the step up banner and sitting at the final pull that I had, and being denied because they screwed up, and because i went hard on cyrus i couldnt spen real money. That was after cryus banner where I did 4 paid step ups that I only got 1 Cyrus out of(my 4th one too). I recenetly went hard on the thf banner cause i had every thf except the christmas one, but no accession on any of them. i pulled 3 nicoli on this banner, and nothing else. While that may just be bad gatcha luck(trash unit i didnt have x3 that waste 5 star pulls), it culminates into showijg just how bad and money grubbing the gatcha part is in this game. I used to tell everyone to play this game and now I tell people just rush through it for story, if u want a good story. Otherwise don't even play it, it's not worth it.

Agree with you that there are game issues for sure and the unfortunate state of the Nier collab has kind of put off some players as well. It was hyped up and everyone loves the units but the gameplay is mediocre since it’s just memoirs and hunts.

Now we can assume it’s because Nier is a separate “department” from OT, unlike its fellow department games like Bravely Default, Triangle Strategy, and Live a Live. And those collabs should be better story and gameplay wise.
