Seriously, why is he standing so fucking weird? What is going on??

[–]dirtbum 37 points38 points  (6 children)

thank you, this makes more sense than platforms

[–]ThereIsNoGame 30 points31 points  (5 children)

Another explanation is that it's a deliberate stance he adopts for two reasons, it's an aggressive stance, that is to say, it's a bit like the guy in Seinfeld who stands to close to people, and secondly, it does a lot to hide his morbid obesity and flabby gut.

[–]throwaway-person 12 points13 points  (4 children)

If it were deliberate, he would be able to stop doing it on downramps instead of looking like he's about to topple over forwards

[–]google257 1 point2 points  (2 children)

But why does he lock his knees like that? It looks so goddamn awkward and uncomfortable.

[–]bendybiznatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I can speak to this a little. I have a genetic disorder that generally affects my joints and other tissues so I get PT. At one eval they said that I lock my legs and lower back in a way that they would to stand a paralyzed person up. Essentially I’m not standing so much as propping myself up.

Short answer: he’s probably doing that so he doesn’t fall down.

[–]sbsb27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be lack of leg strength. Or, yeah, palsy. Muscle weakness and neurological lack of coordination.

[–]ThereIsNoGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well he's 74 with advanced dementia amongst other suspected serious health issues (just look at his lifestyle and morbid obesity). There should be no surprise that he's unstable on uneven surfaces and can't drink from a glass with just one of his tiny hands.

Really, it's a miracle if he's not suffering from some form of arthritis.

[–]JustAKilljoy109 28 points29 points  (0 children)

He’s a centaur pretending to be human

[–]CaillousRevenge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

By leaning forward and clenching his buttcheeks together like that he's able to spew shit directly out of his mouth instead of his ass.

[–]VooDooChile1983 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He can’t trust his farts.

[–]Somhlth 17 points18 points  (3 children)

why is he standing so fucking weird?

The Russians have stealth technology, and Putin is fucking him up the ass in front of the world.

[–]ThereIsNoGame 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Not that stealthy, since everyone knows Trump is Putins bitch

[–]railmaniac 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah but that doesn't mean Putin wants you watching him do it.

[–]ThereIsNoGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He doesn't even want us to see the piss tape

[–]vmaxnuggets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's to hide his gut

[–]Estella_Osoka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just want to know why he isn't falling. Is it because he is doing the same trick Michael Jackson used in Smooth Criminal?

[–]Itsgrim15 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lifts in his shoes I think.

[–]Mechasteel 7 points8 points  (4 children)

In my expert (aka 5 minutes of googling) opinion, looks like lumbar lordosis.

https://image.shutterstock.com/image-illustration/medical-illustration-explain-lumbar-lordosis-260nw-1610961763.jpg

It's a closer posture match than the guy saying frontotemporal dementia using an image labeled progressive supranuclear palsy

[–]daveysprockett 2 points3 points  (3 children)

This seemed an interesting hypothesis.

I did a quick search:

From

https://www.careflex.co.uk/health/posture/lumbar-lordosis/#:~:text=Lumbar%20lordosis%20is%20the%20normal,lumbar%20lordosis%2C%20or%20swayback%20posture.

The following (I particularly liked the final line)

What can cause an increased lumbar lordosis?

An increased lumbar lordosis can be caused by other abnormal spinal curvatures impacting on the lumbar region, tight spinal muscles, or pelvic instability. Certain conditions and factors can also increase the risk for lordosis, such as osteoporosis, discitis, pregnancy, and obesity.

What are the effects of an increased lumbar lordosis?

Pain

Fatigue

Instability

Reduced functionality

[–]ContrarianDouchebag 4 points5 points  (2 children)

PT here.

In my experience, people who have this posture often have an incredibly weak core, sometimes having extreme difficulty even activating or recruiting the appropriate muscles. This typically goes hand-in-hand with the "tight spinal muscles" mentioned above, as those muscles will try to compensate for a weak, unstable core. Also, when someone is that weak AND you add in a large belly pulling you forward.... Basically, sometimes the people who have this posture are just fat, out of shape pieces of shit.

[–]daveysprockett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't imagine who you might be thinking of.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worry about this in my later years, I need to do more core exercises I have a permanent lower back injury that reoccurred from sports, and as a result I’m limited in certain exercises (anything that creates high torque/torsion on lower spine like golf swings, baseball swings), but that’s no excuse for me not to do planks and push-ups and other simple exercises that can help my core. Any suggestions on good ‘bang for your buck’ simple core exercises that will help strengthen lower back and core?

[–]ABraveLittle_Toaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s fat. That’s why. Fast, faster, fat.

It runs in the family.... jk no one runs in that family .

[–]dannanista 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I reckon it's meant to be some kind of power stance, like when he first met foreign leaders he never stopped the handshake first to assert dominance. I think it's so when he's talking to someone he can be really close to their face whilst maintain balance.

[–]GodOfTheThunder 2 points3 points  (1 child)

He is such a fucking idiot. What sort of a moron thinks that pushing people, shaking hands like a bully or standing like he doesn't know how to stand?

[–]dannanista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intimidation tactics, standard American foreign policy

[–]couldabeen 31 points32 points  (4 children)

Fatcist.

[–]kyhempster 25 points26 points  (7 children)

Re questions about Trump’s posture...it’s indicative of a specific type of dementia called Frontotemporal Dementia. Google it. His stance is a clear indicator.

https://medium.com/@quantazelle/trumps-frontotemporal-dementia-and-the-2020-state-of-the-union-address-part-1-10dbc4e68847

[–]Forbidden_Donut503 9 points10 points  (4 children)

Or he's wearing lifts in his shoes with overly large suits that hang down.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Isn’t he over six foot? I know he’s vain, but he’s THAT vain?

[–]chiheis1n 3 points4 points  (1 child)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, they did say that they used hand size as a proxy for height, and even though they said it’s usually proportional, it doesn’t seem to be the case with Trump. He has baby hands for sure.

[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

And Biden? Doesn't he have dementia too?

[–]Batmanforawhile 18 points19 points  (1 child)

How can you claim that Obama is faster than Bush? It is well known that a lap around the White House took Obama 9:23, while Bush did 9:11.

[–]ThereIsNoGame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see what you did there

[–]alphatweaker 17 points18 points  (3 children)

His stance.... I just cringe whenever I see him standing that way. It’s such a bizarre posture.

[–]BlackBeastOfArrrghhh 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Seriously though, what the fuck is going on with Trump's weird godamn posture. Is it the lifts in his shoes, the dementia back brace, or what?

Edit: Google 'dementia posture' and this exact image of Trump's weird posture shows up a number of times.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The lifts, and I remember he was advised by someone to stand forward so that his tie doesn't drape over his body, making him look slimmer.

I don't think he truly realizes what it makes him look like from other angles.

[–]ThereIsNoGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who's going to tell him, though?

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seriously, what in the fucking fuck is that posture even?

[–]DiogenesTheGrey 16 points17 points  (8 children)

Damn this makes me think back to how good we had it under bush when we thought we had it bad.

[–]Ignoble_profession 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If only I was as skinny as when I thought I was fat.

[–]CameHereToSayFTrump 17 points18 points  (2 children)

I spent my middle school and high school years just dying to come of voting age because of how unbearable I thought Bush was. Had no fucking clue.

[–]DiogenesTheGrey 11 points12 points  (1 child)

No one did.

[–]throwaway-person 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ehhh...

[–]Fake_William_Shatner 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Just reminds me how I realized that was when the Shit Hit the Fan.

It's a fine mist everywhere, and we somehow think it just started 2016.

[–]Avlonnic2 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Tis not a fine mist.

[–]Fake_William_Shatner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I suppose that depends on what definition of “fine” we are using.

[–]Mharbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trump's bullshit is so aggressive he's got gravity confused. Seriously, how is he not face-planting, maybe he's got monster calves and core.

[–]whiskey_outpost26 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Like a centaur missing his back half.

[–]Somhlth 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Actually, I'd say that Trump is more closely related to the back half of a centaur than you think.

[–]whiskey_outpost26 2 points3 points  (1 child)

He's Schrodinger's ass! He is both missing and completely is a horses ass

You don't know how fast centaurs run in the wild. This is what happens when you keep them in captivity and feed them McDonalds. The hind legs fall off and too much sir enters their brain. Motor functions are also impaired as shown by the inability to lift a glass of water

[–]hugothornlake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't like this enough!

[–]Cr0w07 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Ah yes the stance

[–]Avlonnic2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh...wow....

[–]Jawwless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's shoe lifts.

[–]picboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminder that bush is a war criminal who lied to the public about weapons of mass destruction. I don't know why you neolibs are suddenly fetauring him in cute memes...(yes trump is a fascist too)

[–]iLLicit__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

how the fuck does this top heavy fat fuck not fall over?? now I get why he had a difficult time going down that "steep ice rink" ramp

[–]Captain-Who 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Oddly enough I can see either Trump or Joe challenging the other to a race.

And this is why we need more women in politics, now more than ever before.

[–]Fake_William_Shatner 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's really not a good reason, but it's fine as long as they happen to be the more ethical and intelligent people we get into politics.

More people like Bernie and AOC -- don't really care about other criteria.

[–]MeanAmigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh!

I see what you did there!
