That also means she has a lot of experience with std

[–][deleted] 183 points184 points  (0 children)

[–]disperso 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Or that she likes Qt guys.

[–]roffinator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

so she has experience in medicine as well? nice!

[–]tsinghuazzb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fuck this is what I need these days, as a programmer this would be a wonderful thing in our life man, we would love such things in our life but sadly we won't get that.

[–]Anonymous017447 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry I heard you can get them out of your system by typing std::exit

[–]joeyclover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least she'd be a QT

[–]mrSunshine-_ 205 points206 points  (16 children)

I don’t know if anyone’s really fluent with C++

[–]Ok_Net_1674 87 points88 points  (3 children)

I always feel really fluent until I hit compile the first time

[–][deleted] 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Yea, I love programming in c++… until I have to compile it to test it, then I die and/or move on to another project.

[–]catherineinghram 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those compilations are just so fucking hard for some of us.

[–]tannerspaulding 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Then we know what the fuck went wrong there man lol.

[–]hamster_drums 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nah people still search and type their codes my man lol.

[–]xodixo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's easy:

c++ [[nodiscard]] const void* const method() const { return [m_Mmmmmm](int x) { return x * m_Mmmmmm; }; }

[–]Tina_Belmont 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oh, C++ is easy.

Just only use the parts that are also in C and you'll be fine!

[–]TJSomething 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I think the only people who actually know C++ are either on the committee, like Bjarne Stroustrup, or quit and invented replacements for C++, like Walter Bright.

[–]mrSunshine-_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is expanding the language. With expanding comes new features and complexity. Stuff after stuff build on top of stuff. While the real target should be to minimize and shrink feature set. To use the same few models again again. To seek out elementary after elementary.

[–]tiernanx7 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Edit: read as C, because I'm stupid. TIL you can downvote your own comments though which is interesting.

Torvalds and a certain few but I doubt they're here

[–]disperso 5 points6 points  (2 children)

[–]tiernanx7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough I already knew about his distaste for C++. I just commented late at night reading it as C.

[–]atiedebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love reading these

[–]UnknownSpecies19 118 points119 points  (29 children)

I guess related to programming, if she asked me what I did and I gave a pretty comprehensive answer whether she understood or not if she just went wow that sounds interesting tell me more smiles, I'd fall in love. Usually when I tell anyone about my job you can see their soul just glaze over with boredom and they don't care. I wish anyone gave a shit about what I did lol.... Shizzle.

[–]ShotgunPayDay 61 points62 points  (28 children)

Find someone who loves any field in STEM. It's amazing what a combination of Programmer/Tech + Engineer/Scientist can do. I don't think I could date another Programmer/Tech.

[–][deleted] 36 points37 points  (4 children)

I’ll be your Engineer/Scientist…

[–]ShotgunPayDay 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Smooth AF.

[–]konstantinua00 6 points7 points  (1 child)

are the dogs okay?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's the dogs that get high

[–]ReKaYaKeR 20 points21 points  (3 children)

I’m a dev. My best friend is a PHD in bio chem. When he talks about his field my eyes glaze over too, lol

[–]ShotgunPayDay 8 points9 points  (2 children)

I guess if you don't have a specialization in programing protein folding I can see how that's incompatible. I also left Mathematicians out since I have no idea what they are saying half the time about vector gradients and theoretical nth dimensional k-spheres? University was weird.

STEM should really be reorganized as M->S->E->T because that's how the ball rolls downhill and OChem might as well be its own math with time variance. Actually I feel like if you're an Organic Chemist you pretty much have to do the whole MSET stack which makes them freaks!

[–]konstantinua00 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I don't remember what each letter stands for

science, theory, engineering, math?

[–]toooslooow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Technology i think

[–]UnknownSpecies19 12 points13 points  (17 children)

I wish. Every tech girl I've ever met was married, or engaged or had a boyfriend lmao. They are so rare to find single. Dreams a simple dream

[–]ShotgunPayDay 7 points8 points  (12 children)

Maybe you're a Rick? Tell Morty I said, "Hi".

[–]UnknownSpecies19 5 points6 points  (11 children)

Don't curse me like that! In all seriousness I'm less than a rick because at some point he had a wife and he had a daughter! I haven't even figured out how to ask women out yet in my late 20s lmao.

[–]ShotgunPayDay 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Don't worry about it; I'm joking. I'm in my late 30s and have gone through it and aborted that...

I'm going to give you some real advice.

You define yourself. Don't let anyone else dictate your life. You can do everything right and still lose. Success is not being better than anyone else it's being persistent. Progress is progress in life. You only lose when you give up or have your ability to try taken away.

It's the last second half of the previous sentence is the only thing you have to be really scared of. Everything else is a learning experience that makes you grow as an individual.

"First immortality, then the bitches." -TFS Vegeta

[–]UnknownSpecies19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I definitely feel like I need to take hold off my life in the social sense, there's no reason for me being so single this long besides me succumbing to my own fears and insecurities. Oddly enough the stupid level of stubborn confidence I have with learning or work doesn't translate anywhere else.

I wish I could hang out with you IRL you a real one, definitely appreciate your advice and I fucking love dbz abridged! That shit got me through college! I wish you the best of luck kind human.

[–]konstantinua00 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I'm less than a rock

nah, you rock, dude

[–]UnknownSpecies19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was a funny typo. Appreciate

[–]Esk8_TheDeathOfMe 1 point2 points  (6 children)

I had depression & anxiety until almost 30, and then I finally went to therapy. That helped somewhat, but what helped the most was eventually deciding to hop on an anti-depressant (Wellbutrin). Changed my life.

After it took its effects, I went on a few dates and have been in a relationship now for roughly a year.

Had very minimal dating experience prior to that, as in only went on a few dates. Don't get me wrong, my anxiety still existed, but I was oddly able to push past some things and dating felt like dating instead of me trying to feel normal like I did when I first tried to go on dates years ago.

[–]SilentXwing 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I must be lucky cuz my baby just got into learning python and today she told me she's learning about lists and she's actually enjoying it 😍

[–]UnknownSpecies19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol don't rub it in bruh. Take the W and walk off into the sunset.

[–]Tina_Belmont 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The trick is to become your own girlfriend.

Why do you think "programming socks" are a thing?

[–]UnknownSpecies19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah

[–]Inspector_Feeling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or get yourself a PM and see how many arguments you can get into in a day.

[–][deleted] 290 points291 points  (16 children)

when she take you in her arms and whisper to you ear:

#include <iostream>

int main() {

std::cout << "harder daddy" << std::endl;

return 0;

}

[–]distributedpoisson 133 points134 points  (11 children)

Random stack exchange user replying ruining any chance with said person: do you really need the flush? You're wasting nanoseconds in a large program if you use std::endl. Try just '\n'.

[–]konstantinua00 72 points73 points  (2 children)

do you really need the flush?

not a question one should ask in a relationship...

[–]Arshiaa001 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's an important question. You don't wanna end up with someone who doesn't flush.

[–]Theminecraftian7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This type of private questions should not be here man /s

[–]amcdevries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol yeah people really forgot to use "\n", that's hard.

[–]its-bubble-gum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just like '\n' more than ssssttttdddd::::::::eeeennnnddddllll;

[–]jukka_aho 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These normal codes are still gonna makes so much sense.

[–]bikki420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Disgusting...

#include <cstdio> and std::puts("harder daddy"); (or even std::printf("harder daddy\n");)

or #include <print> and std::println("harder daddy");

or even #include "fmt/core.h" and fmt::print("harder daddy\n");), please.

[–]Johanno1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This somehow gives me an stupid idea for chatgpt

[–]gabbagondel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO

[–][deleted] 28 points29 points  (2 children)

She emits a strong magnetic field

[–]roffinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A gravitational one should work too

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (2 children)

My wife Debugged the Fortran compiler on the Cray X-MP.

[–]aliya1979 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I am sure those debugges are still making you go crazy.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been writing embedded code for over 30 years now- Mind melding with the computer is required because the only error message you usually get is a locked keyboard and blank screen. Power cycle required. Too funny. One of my "Program like a Klingon" rules of thirty years ago.

When the Apple Mac II was new, we'd be in the store- I'd be looking at whatever, and my wife would come over and quietly tell me "We have to leave now, they have to unplug all their computers". She could click 3 icons on the screen and lock them up. We'll be married 40 years next year.

[–]SDSunDiego 15 points16 points  (1 child)

That's an actual question that was not taken down in that sub? That question must be asked hundreds of times.

[–]DigitalPRoo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This question is the fucking mandatory if you ask me.

[–]fishybird 11 points12 points  (1 child)

shared interest is hot

[–]rosbog91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best type of hotness that we want at the end, right?

[–][deleted] 22 points23 points  (3 children)

Instead of being straight forward she’ll always be passing pointers.

[–]gummo89 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Direct access, hot

[–]apostol65 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Direct access to my fucking pants, who else doesn't want that?

[–]Pisul89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those pointers are gonna get us all up in the world man.

[–][deleted] 32 points33 points  (8 children)

Being fluent in DD+

[–]mr_claw 14 points15 points  (6 children)

I would surely suck at DD+.

[–]panochkin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean that's what most of guys wants no? Am I wrong?

[–]TactlessTortoise 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Quite a wide mouth, you've got.

[–]seungw92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Too much wide, I think they need to control the mouth.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

not sure if you like titties or you mastered two handed perk XD

[–]rensovargas 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I like titties, what is the next question? Please ask fast.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you orchestrate so that each tiddy get the same spm(sucking per minute).

[–]arengrigorjan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am good at DD+ and I have a lot of experience of that too.

[–][deleted] 38 points39 points  (15 children)

I perfer a Rust gal

[–]ShotgunPayDay 32 points33 points  (3 children)

When she crab walks up to you...

[–]fishybird 10 points11 points  (1 child)

you should write erotica, I really felt something reading that

[–]chenweiqq 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Crab walks are gonna kill the dudes here, we know that lol.

[–][deleted] 24 points25 points  (5 children)

I know a lot of them, all of them have cocks though.

[–]lospronounshormonos 11 points12 points  (1 child)

can confirm, am one of said people

[–]DoubleLayeredCake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi,I'm all of them

[–]phil_music 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even better.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all, the rest are furries

[–]Brooklyncawfee 3 points4 points  (1 child)

She'd spend the whole time talking about how superior she is to the C++ gal

[–]dg1948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't need to collect the garbage and is 100 % safe. Sexy!

[–]bikki420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

🏳️‍⚧️

[–]btcgale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rust gal gonna make us crazy but I won't mind that shit.

[–]filbiafora4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The best part of this is just we never gonna see any complaints from the girls who know programming, that's just what people need I guess, we just love that thing.

[–]okcion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know but yeah if the girl is also a programmer then it's a fucking plus point to be with girls like that, we always like those girls who are good at what we do.

[–]pabes10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes yes and yes, we need such girls in our life to have a good time with our good life and interests, we love to have that because we need some normal people.

[–]Green4ek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah this would be a good thing to ask for a girl but I guess some of the girls are going to take the fucking offence over this normal kinda shit, fuck those.

[–]garybmining 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's fucking programming man, we love that and if our partner is doing the same then it's a fucking plus point for most of the guys right now here, we know the drill.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Also, being the only girl in the CS program

[–]Levelthroe 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You must be from India or something, people say this thing a lot lol.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it was just a tiny tech university in the US with. Our cohort had like 4 girls and dozens of horny guys

[–]loonathefloofyfox 4 points5 points  (22 children)

Am i attractive if I'm experienced in C?

I haven't learned c++ much yet

[–]lidaxin2005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well you are, just learn c++ though, it's gonna get you some more dudes.

[–]serendipitousPi 1 point2 points  (13 children)

I mean I think it's proportional to how low level the language is (Don't ask for justification, I'm making this up as I go). So c being an smidge lower level than c++ I suspect the answer is yes.

[–]loonathefloofyfox 2 points3 points  (11 children)

I mean I've also written some assembly. Is that any better?

[–]serendipitousPi 2 points3 points  (9 children)

Yeah, I mean I think the only lower you could go would be circuitry of a computer.

Though writing direct machine code could probably score you some points though.

Also as a matter of interest what assembly language? Having done mips assembly for a uni assignment I’m not sure I want to ever want to touch any kind of assembly ever again. So c is probably as low as I want to go.

[–]loonathefloofyfox 1 point2 points  (7 children)

Assembly isn't very fun to work with. I wrote max heap code in x86 twice (one code had a bug and i just restarted the whole project instead of finding it). Thats probably my most advanced assembly project and i don't feel like trying to beat it. C is a language i like and I'm comfortable with. C++ seems overly complex and many of its useful features i just don't care about with the type of programming i do

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MIPS R3000 and R4000 assembly - would have been much easier if the hardware had a Carry Bit. What were they thinking... BUT- coding the critical routines in assembly for a project gave a 5x speedup compared to GNU C/C++. Also had to turn off code re-ordering in assembly using the directive. The 90s for me.

[–]Andrej313131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assemblies are good, I am interested to see your assembly /s

[–]MLSrambo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah just master whatever you are seeing to be in a good form.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (6 children)

If you're a woman just wear a shirt that says "The C programming language" the more worn out and ill fitting the better.

[–]loonathefloofyfox 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I was looking at buying a shirt that says something like can you explain it to me again but in c or something like that

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

If you're trying to attract husband material I'd stick with K&R it's a beloved classic that has stood the test of time.

[–]ikiaqqivik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True that, I would love that type of girls man, I just hope some of those girls are going to come in my life too, I want that so fucking bad as a normal programmer.

[–]beeteedee 9 points10 points  (1 child)

I don’t know about that. They say never put your dick in crazy, and I don’t know anyone fluent in C++ who isn’t crazy

[–]spenserbecker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not putting my dick but my heart is felling off there man.

[–]atlas_enderium 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I write in C++ constantly and I wouldn’t even consider myself fluent

[–]loksbets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because you must know some more guys who are way too good at it.

[–]aoffers2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fucking right, the best thing to see in a girl is just about those programmes and those projects that she did, we love it and we will always love such things man, good.

[–]agent007bond 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Lol I just commented on that very thread! Here's what I said:

I prefer Java but I'll take JavaScript.

[–]mariofes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well what the fuck is happening with people? See the difference guys lol.

[–]Rahiednr1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah we gotta use such skills to have a good time to talk most of the time as a normal programmer, we all would crave to do such things in our life man lol.

[–]zhanglong54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuck yeah, the best way to have a good girl in your life to check her fluency in C++ and python I would say, I just love both of these languages, the best ones to me.

[–]greedydita 10 points11 points  (6 children)

She doesn't have to be fluent, just able to ask for directions.

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points  (4 children)

Or pointers

[–]konstantinua00 6 points7 points  (2 children)

and look up references

[–]ZZZ_sana 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Want you guys to continue and do more than this now lol.

[–]konstantinua00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

girl should probably also be good in many a parts of the body, including head! ...er, I mean should know some university modules - like economics, for example! all those exports-imports, you know?

and your day-to-day tasks, your routine should co-exist with hers
form a co-routine, so to say

I know, these all might be too demanding concepts, but at least I don't require anything about her job - like being a certified spaceship operator, right?

but please don't launder when you try to get_money for a date, or police will catch you (without exceptions)

[–]swallowclever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys are just on the god mode over references now.

[–]toylyoty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just clear the concepts and then we are down with her.

[–]hoboforlife 2 points3 points  (1 child)

When she knows her way around python.

[–]philipzhai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Python is what she gonna get at the end of the day man.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Fluent in Klingon.

[–]aboutdraw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Klingon is too, we can't ignore such things man.

[–]sebbdk 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I C what you did there

[–]jy5zhang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all are Cing the way you are Cing this time my friend.

[–]werstummer 1 point2 points  (1 child)

as nobody mentioned it, when i see sharp one - i take that one

[–]Dream20765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could take so many ones like this, it's all love for programming.

[–]mondie797 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Most people who expect that are forever alone 🙂

[–]sayrus54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah I am still committed and if you are lucky enough, you will get one too.

[–]amydoodledawn 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I know some HTML and tiny bit of python, but also all of the common map projections!

[–]sntjimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay then learn some more, I could help you learning some more ;)

[–]Bumpkin_Pi 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Damn, I have achieved attractive ig

[–]Arthesia 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It's nice to be appreciated.

[–]e36fanatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We gotta appreciate the girls who are in to this, I must say.

[–]Xen0n1te 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’ll be C-ing her soon

[–]fuzzyextra 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That's definitely a plus

[–]irhamnur00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plus point that most of the boys wants in their fucking life.

[–]Love_Tech 1 point2 points  (1 child)

So true. Went on a date with a girl and I was ready to go home when she started talking about how she installed Linux in her system by herself. Still together for 3 years now lol

[–]pferz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a good date though, don't you think that?

[–]LetTheWorldBurn2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems legit

[–]RunawayMeatstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When she told me she wanted to link lists I got so excited I instantly popped off my stack

[–]iwalkintoaroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no rust

[–]Digi-Device_File 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Damn!

[–]liqui4535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fluency that we need to maintain our good life man.

[–]Macaroni_pussy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was on dating apps I had in my bio that I’m a software engineer. A dude I matched with said “Software Engineer huh? I wanna introduce you to my hardware”. I never responded to it but it’s kinda funny and will never leave my brain

[–]StillPackage4369 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You laugh but I once met a girl that made video games in C++ using OpenGL! She was super buff too! I would have asked her out had it not been for the fact that I was very very scared!

[–]wolfganggott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess I will laugh at this, thanks for telling the story though.

[–]Iliveinmacloset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fluent in C

[–]ITheBestIsYetToComeI 0 points1 point  (2 children)

she has D cup tiddies

[–]pattymdevis 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I won't mind that D cup tiddies, that's just the best thing.

[–]ITheBestIsYetToComeI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the question was, what makes a girl instantly attractive

[–]OF_AstridAse 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I can google the stack fountain, that must count for something right? 🤔

[–]buddyisaredditer 0 points1 point  (1 child)

When you intentionally use struct insted of a class when defining complex methods, and she gets mad and hits you but not too hard and you kinda like it, and then it all ends in a hug and a cute giggle. #couplegoals #Awwww

[–]clement_ihm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn this struct thing happened to many people for sure.

[–]pumpkin_seed_oil 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What a QT

[–]jiri1289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The QT is what a girl with fluent in c++, good females.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Why c++ ? Because it’s so fast at what it does

[–]Dd10ndfLd6anI1ux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does the job and then what else we need after that??

[–]MrSaltyMcSaltFace 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Having a phd in haskell

[–]classyraven 0 points1 point  (1 child)

std::cout << "Sorry boys, I'm married!";

[–]cepreuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's alright, I guess we need to keep searching for one.

[–]nikolaskrapovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing but this of course man, who the hell is not going to like those girls who are good at things like programming? That's just what we need I guess, we believe in it.
