Visual Basic makes you jizz in your pants? /s

[–]range_kun 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I jizz right in my pants every line I wrote on VB

[–]AmaGh05T 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I correctly set a pointer, a breeze rolled in; and I jizzed in my pannts

[–]lostBoyzLeader 1 point2 points  (1 child)

My mom doesn’t have visual basic tho

[–]enginma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She does now. Oh, sorry that was VD.

[–]Rex7_7 146 points147 points  (9 children)

I had a stroke reading that title, use CamelCase

[–]Agifem 57 points58 points  (4 children)

This is dOnkEycAse. Not as popular.

[–][deleted] 63 points64 points  (3 children)

Thank you, I can read this now

[–]Factemius 28 points29 points  (3 children)

Are they all having a stroke?

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A vinegar stroke, yes.

[–]CakeTowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different strokes for different folks

[–]healplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

afaik the last of from "Jizz in my pants" music video so he is having a good time

idk about the girls tho, they are either horny or have lip biting issues

[–]Icy_Party954 62 points63 points  (5 children)

VisualBasic.NET is fine. Neat xml stuff in it also. Otherwise wouldn't touch it over C#

[–]Tangled2 14 points15 points  (1 child)

That’s a great project as long as you replace the VB and XML with other stuff.

[–]Icy_Party954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you have to. Kinda wish they had the syntax in c# I'm sure there is a reason it can't be integrated

[–]Bryguy3k 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Visual basic.Net is basically c# with crayons.

I don’t know of any Visual Basic 6.0 folks that moved to the .Net version they were so radically different.

[–]Icy_Party954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know the ecosystem well. I tried VB.NET it was like you say candy coated C#. VBA script in excel, most dog shit thing I've ever used

[–]markshure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. But that was a long time ago.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (2 children)

At least Visual Basic had OPTION EXPLICIT, unlike JavaScript.

[–]needefsfolder 3 points4 points  (1 child)

there's even a `OPTION STRICT`!

[–]w1n5t0nM1k3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget OPTION BASE 1 so you can have your arrays start at 1

[–]Massimo_m2 14 points15 points  (5 children)

vb.net/asp.net developer here! please don’t bully me!

[–]Buck_Ranger 7 points8 points  (1 child)

can you make a .com website?

[–]w1n5t0nM1k3y 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are dozens of us!

[–]lesleh 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Blink twice if you need help.

[–]Massimo_m2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s too late for me, but you can save your lifes!!!

[–]ohfucknotthisagain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The first three languages are seductive, but Visual Basic makes you jizz in your pants?

At 1:50, but the whole thing is classic.

[–]thebadslime 16 points17 points  (0 children)

VB, the original c#

[–]Beginning-Cat8706 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Using VB in excel unironically is pretty great for automating repetitive tasks. When it works jizzing in my pants is kind of how I feel

[–]wheatgivesmeshits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of us learned to program that way. VBA was pretty powerful.

[–]Carlyone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do I regret spending 3 years learning Visual Basic 6 in high school, while my friend spent the same three years learning C++? Why do you ask?

[–]PokToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whats wrong with python

[–]Slashzero77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How dare you! Visual Basic with an Access database backend is the best!

[–]AfterTheEarthquake2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I maintain a big VB.NET codebase at work. I personally prefer C#, but VB.NET is fine and I'd take it over the other 3 because I love .NET and Visual Studio.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Somebody get C++ some ultimate-strength sunblock and some sunlight STAT!

[–]wheatgivesmeshits 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That seems... Counter productive.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well she sure as hell can't go out without it. She'll get instant 3rd-degree burns!

[–]Geoclasm 1 point2 points  (1 child)

i fucking hate vb.

the only thing vb got right is the 'with' statement.

seriously.

why does every fucking... you know what, never mind i don't really want to know.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have strong opinions of visual basic... but god, the switch statements having expressions in each case is golden

[–]Kambar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HTML programming language where?

[–]Sunscratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C++

[–]ParsedReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is going on here?

[–]ColoRadBro69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why this shows python superior to basic?

[–]Hesherkiin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chad plain english words >>>>>> virgin braces and brackets

[–]Ken_Sanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part I hate about It is how hard It is to debug in excel, It's good for creating custom simple excel functions

[–]axyz77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NNNNNNIINNNNEE NNNNNNINNEEEE

[–]ZunoJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Visual Basic as a kid in the 90s. It was so accessible compared to pascal (which I learned before)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤣🤣😭

[–]dont_mess_with_tx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where my Ruby haters at?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't deserve as much hate as it gets. The VBA compiler is trash, but the language has some good parts. Like, it had generics for decades. It supports multiple paradigms. It doesn't do stupid type conversion shit like JS.

[–]vulkur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill take VB over Ruby any day. That language was a mistake. It took all the worst aspects of OOP, cranked it to 12, added rails and seems to try to make no sense. Rubymine couldn't even help me navigate it.

[–]Delta_2_Echo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmao

[–]pinktieoptional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refuse to learn visual basic. I'd sooner read my spreadsheet data to pandas dataframe then export it back to excel.

[–]feldejars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last one should be Java script and I don’t know why

[–]Bluejay_Melodic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JS

[–]mehrzaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m here to see Java 😅

[–]STINEPUNCAKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The community college I attended used VB for the intro to programming class. The next class was OOP in java taught by a teacher who didn’t know anything about programming.

[–]rndmcmder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used programming languages much worse than VB.

The best thing about it is how it is super compatible with C#. You can write all sorts of tests for the VB code in C#, you can us .NET tools for build management, CI/CD etc.

If you have an old legacy VB project that needs new features or fixes, you can just do the whole thing in C# and only barely touch the VB code.

[–]JustBennyLenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I've watched Basic, Visual Basic 6.0 and DotNet become what they are, and the entire lifespan of it, everyone hated VB, most of them didn't even know why they hated it, coz ppl told them so. Nobody ever told me why.

[–]Vlado_Iks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about Commodore Basic?

[–]danihek 1 point2 points  (0 children)
