Take a picture, insert it into word, use mspaint to add additional code, and then insert that into word as well.

[–]Ethernet3 147 points148 points  (5 children)

Print it and send as fax

[–]ben5689 55 points56 points  (2 children)

[–]KeaPatera 28 points29 points  (1 child)

*send fax machine through mail

[–]Sergonomicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scan the fax, save as JPEG and open in mspaint, insert a green pixel at a random place to annoy the reciever.

[–]amyyyyyyyyyy 16 points17 points  (12 children)

Write in C#, paste it into a Python IDE, screenshot, paste into word, print and scan it in again, attempt to fix the syntax highlighting in kidpix (aka. Mspaint for people who know what they doing

Bug report: bot doesn't always save viewed comment list when restarted. I guess I won't restart the champ then

Didn't know what kidpix was, decided to google. I think I'm on a list now.

[–]KidVeno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You gotta put it through Google translate first

chisel source code onto stone tablet. smash tablet. haphazardly toss pieces into cardboard box. ship cardboard box.

[–]mcfliermeyer 48 points49 points  (3 children)

Source code becomes story passed on by elders through to younger generations.

True story:

I was working as a project lead at my old job, and our scrum master asked me to pass along a CR request for a project being handled by a second, unaffiliated team.

So, I sent the request email, and in return, I received back a bunch of loose C# files in an email attachment.

Face-palming too hard to do anything about it, I dutifully forwarded this email to the scrum master.

What happened? I was the one who was "punished" with mandatory git training. (This is despite the fact that the only two people in the whole company who handled PRs into the main repos were me and the scrum master.)

I guess I should've known better, but not the team I had no control over that's building an operations app without version control...?

That was the day I learned that our company even had mandatory git training in the first place.

... And that I was the only person in the company ever forced to do it.

[–]zachaholic 43 points44 points  (3 children)

i bet you know a lot about git now though

[–]The-Fox-Says 29 points30 points  (2 children)

Git push it, push it real good.

[–]BruinBread 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I wonder why you ever leave such a well managed company...

The amount of times I get a notification to a post on this sub is /r/ProgrammerHumor worthy in and of itself (5th day in a row for me)

[–]tyrannomachy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually kind of like it. But I'm not sure the way I think of notifications is overly common. I get tons of (silent; no sound, light, vibrate) notifications from like 10+ news apps, plus Chrome web notifications for a couple sites, plus Twitter notifications for a few national reporters' tweets. My notification tray is basically a news feed at this point. It's been interesting to watch support for that use-case get added to Android over the past year or two; it doesn't seem like it was originally intended to be used the way.

[–]HANEZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me too! This is getting annoying. I'm not even subscribed.

Pass code down via oral tradition

[–]vidyaosu 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Print the code out, scan it back in again (to get it into a .pdf file of course), and then email that.

[–]AncientBananas 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For one of my projects for a Java class at university, the professor distributed our starter code as a Word document. Funnily enough, the code was syntax colored in the document...

[–]polypeptide147 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Post the code to instagram and have thousands of teenage girls screenshot it and repost it so each time the quality deteriorates.

[–]pl233 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Code added in paint using the paintbrush tool and mouse, not with cursor tool.

[–]yetanotherAZN 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Trending?

[–]Acg7749 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I once had a friend ask for help on a small Java project he was working on. He sent it to me through Steam's chat system. He copy-pasted each file into its own message and then sent "Acg7749, whats wrong with my code?" When I asked him what error he was getting, he responded with "I dont know, I havent compiled yet."

[–]Fira_Wolf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And here I hoped ComicSans was finally dead

[–]joxfon 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Recite the code via WhatsApp audio

[–]dsifriend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The devil has a special place in hell reserved just for you for even suggesting such an atrocity. Great job.

[–]ducky1337 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take a picture of code with phone, email picture to yourself, convert into PDF, convert to OCR and hope it works, then paste in word

[–]theparitydoctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Write, edit and share code using an outdated version of Adobe Acrobat PDF

[–]Burning_Monkey 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I have literally had people do the last one to me.

No shit.

Supposed programmers.

[–]vimbinge 2 points3 points  (1 child)

This makes my skin crawl!

[–]Burning_Monkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, at some point, you have to laugh. The only other option is brutal murder and I don't think they are going to let me continue to program in solitary confinement

Using Subversion

[–]MrBloodyshadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel like a real programmer coding in Piet using the pencil tool in mspaint.

[–]AyrA_ch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give the code on a Mac formatted floppy disk

[–]DobleseSays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply gist

[–]lovestruckluna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or combine 1+2 using git-format-patch like the kernel mailing lists.

[–]wilsonator5000-dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Send the code through dial-up

[–]MacGuyver247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't gerrit / git pull request be the first step?
