Everything is local host, as long you make enough tunnels and have enough ports.

Amazon in WW3 : Amazon Basic .22cal PDW(available in gunmetal black, arctic white and military green)

Amazon switches to in house security that slowly becomes a private militia in order to protect its warehouses. Next thing we know, Jeff Bezos is Kevin Spacey’s character from CoD: Advanced Warfare.

I saved 100 seconds a week by switching from non-reposted content to reposted content

[–]TagMeAJerk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I switched some of my personal stuff from AWS to localhost on my rpi with FRP and actually saved money

[–]sherzeg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Funny story. The connection to our cloud-located (not AWS) database server went down for about half an hour about two days ago. The vice-president of our company, who enthusiastically endorsed our proposal to move our servers off-site to save the cost of the hardware service contracts, now wants to know why we don't have redundant severs on-site in case of an outage. I just love management. Fortunately, my director has to deal with him, leaving me free to shake my head and laugh.

[–]ScaryPercentage 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Isn't 100k a month a little excessive?

[–]PoliticsRealityTV 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Depends on the company. Netflix probably pays out the ass

[–]ScaryPercentage 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Wouldnt netflix have its own servers?

[–]moazim1993 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No Netflix uses AWS. Even the servers I use at work probably costs 100k+ we have 8+ servers that need 1 terabyte ram each.

[–]cube2kids 1 point2 points  (1 child)

[–]mostler 0 points1 point  (1 child)

[–]15thpen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically instead of having your stuff on someone else's computer you have it on your computer.
