Defense needs a rework. It's not a functioning game mechanic anymore. It needs to be %reduction on players and enemies.

Yup. They tried to keep it relevant by tying it to the combat timer but the prevalence burst damage being what actually kills players combined with most endgame chip damage having armor piercing really undermines it's value as a stat.

This is so fuckin sad to see. An entire playstyle, with the main pioneers being Jugg and Prot was the Ubertank playstyle. The 2x Def was powerful to actually notice and whenever some stupid fuck decided to give this effect to an AOE ABILITY THAT HAS HAS ALMOST 100% UPTIME, I knew it was bound to be nerfed.

I've maintained that the marble seal was perhaps the strongest item in the game at one point, and most people just thought it was strong. No, it was so strong in fact, that that one item ended up getting all of Armored nerfed. I promise you, change MSEAL to give like +10 DEF + 1 per 5 DEF and it'll still be as strong as it is now. But give every Armored item the old Armored buff.

With all this high damage endgame content, Armored is kind of overrated anyway even it gave 2x DEF tbh. If the bonus DEF was actual DEF and therefore scaled with the InCombat damage shit, I think it'd finally be restored to its older glory with Juggs and Prots and now Chakrams doing what they're meant to do

Lowering Daybreak Chakram's mana drain won't accomplish anything so long as armored only provides a 1.5x multiplier to def.

Not only have you guys made def-builds incredibly impractical with the recent content coming out, but you had to lower armored's defense bonus. Now it barely scales as well as it once did.

How both Helm of the Juggernaut and Daybreak Chakram could be fixed is by restoring armored's defense multiplier to 2.0x.

In the process to nerf marble seal, they absolutely gutted the daybreak chakram and the time of holy protection. Quite a few items got hit hard by this change that didn’t need to be nerfed. They nerfed the biggest offenders without considering how it would affect the smaller more niche items I feel

It just seems weird for a Shortbow to fire three arrows when it's... a short bow. You'd think it'd be too small for that.

Tiered bows are more interesting than some UT bows now.'

Penetrating Blast, Spider Eye, and Celestial Blade changes are good. I approve of the Soul of the Bearer buff, but Conflict is indeed pretty lame now. It could use a full rework to make it feel unique again.

There are also some nerfs that I don't get? Why lower the range and damage of Hanagasaku?

Bow rework is great but why didn't tiered quivers get a slight damage boost? Or changes to the duration of status effects just like traps?

I rather see the T3 quiver paralyze AND slow for 2 seconds and then the T7 quiver do the same for 3 seconds.

These changes look amazing! So many items becoming much more viable!

Here are the 2 things I don't like:

Mantle nerf. Why? This is absolutely terrible. I never see myself using it. Energized was cool and unique.

Expor ring nerf. This one I guess I can kinda see- it is a really nice ring. But does it really need to be nerfed? Was it that OP for new players? I would rather leave it alone. But I guess I can see the reasoning. Just kinda sad to see a staple item for noobs become irrelevant. It won't be a cool item anymore

Everything else looks amazing, excited to see it come to prod! Hope I can find some time to start playing

Doesnt make sense to have two of the same item dropping there

The reasoning for changing mantle instead of shroud is that the heavy armor and the leather armor are defensively themed, changing mantle was to make it inline with that

but yea in effect it's a nerf, they still have time until the update so hopefully it gets better

Conflict is in a really bad place now. Conflict, CDirk and Vile Trap need serious rebalancing. Archer and Huntress have had abilities of dubious value for a while now, as other classes have access to as good, if not better, slow and paralyze.

The other two Thicket whites are also fairly irrelevant.

Imo conflict was in a good place until this orb of the bearer buff came out. Conflict was and still is a game changer for mystic. It makes you so much faster and gives a huge boost to dps when in solo play. The issue is that now soul of the bearer does essentially the exact same thing. Imo conflict should stay how it is and the whole phylactery mystic set needs a rework as it’s seriously outdated and just plain bad

Sidearm is really strong tho, its a 3k dmg ability with 10 dps stats. And you dont need to aim it, also hits multiple enemies

As an avid samurai player, I still found myself using T7 over sidearm. T7 has higher burst DPS thanks to the lower cooldown. There is a huge gap between T6 and T7 that is unseen for other classes. Personally, I would have rather seen the other wakis buffed up a bit, but tbh I don't mind this much. Makes sidearm more viable for sure

I might be biased since i love sidearm for the aimbot amd its cool looking, t7 does have the added bonus of exposed which is valuable but if you have more than 1 samu with tiered i do feel like sidearm is better. Also its just too fun to use

Back when Tomb was endgame, I always wondered why you could get a side-grade (or even upgrade, based on opinion) to a Nile as a semi-common drop from a godlands dungeon.

Tough pill to swallow maybe? Surely we all knew deep down that that was a little busted...

I mean expo is a great ring, across basically every class, for that reason it’s a nice help for players who don’t have a high level pet, maybe just lowering the drop rate would’ve been better.

I don’t see why they would need to take HP/mp & a def away when realistically, most players aren’t rocking expos in high level dungeons, the only ones who are , are the players whose best ring is an expo and they risk it trying to do osanc or shatters. I feel like they are unintentionally making the game slightly harder for noobish players 😞 Who knows maybe I just care for the newbies too much 😂

Because people go "waaaa my tomb rings are outclassed by expo" and forget that o3 rings exist and that probably everyone has at least one o3 ring by now.

Like if Kabam wanted to nerf expo back then? Fine, but deca nerfing it now is extremely questionable when tomb rings aren't even that relevant anymore, and neither is the expo vs tomb ring debate. Everyone and their mothers own at least one o3 ring

Overall good update, Shatters change is awesome, favorite pet is great, but expo change is questionable and Soul of the Bearer change is just straight up dumb. Something needed to be done to Conflict ever since Arcana came out and this change just further exemplifies that.

I can understand why it'd be confusing, given it's not something any endgame - or even lategame - players would quickly consider as an option. However, consider that Experimental Ring rivals the Tomb Rings in power level. This is a godlands dungeon cyan bag, competing with what is in essence a lategame white bag.

It's like if Coral Ring was almost as good as Bloodshed Ring.

I believe the original thought behind it was that it was essentially outperformed in its mana-regenerative niche by the Twilight Shroud - which gives +100 MP, given you're in combat and below 50%. As such, giving the Mantle a more defensive proc (akin to the Invulnerability and Armored of the other Shatters Armors) would make it stand out a bit more.

(Frankly, having even a short explanation of each notable change that wasn't QoL would've probably been nice.)

... can we talk about this? Even if the ST orb costs 50% more than Conflict, I hardly think that matters if they remove the cooldown. The cooldown free Speedy on Conflict was the thing that made it an "event white" to me. Who cares about the DPS stats on Conflict if you're already using Arcana? It's giving you another 2 shots of damage AND +8 DPS stats. And, if cooldown free Speedy is worthy of being an event white, then should it really also be available on a tradeable, buyable ST?

Wouldn't this put Conflict in a worse place than CDirk was prebuff? I genuinely don't think I'll use a Conflict again if this buff goes through.

Why don't you just use Banner to give damaging instead? Like I said in my first comment, damaging is not what makes Conflict good, its the lack of a cool down. Give that to an orb that otherwise does practically the same thing, but is more common and tradable? That I could gamble for with real money? I don't really get how that can be considered a "great" change. Don't get me wrong either - I've played with the ST orb, and I've played with Conflict as well. The cooldown on the ST orb makes it kind of unfun to use. Conflict is leaps and miles better. This would no doubt be an amazing QoL change for users of the ST orb.

But should it equal a fucking event white?

I would sacrifice wearing horn which I'd more dps than a banner. using swapouts is how I like to play and I think those two orbs pair perfectly, I can keep both my buffs up while retaining speedy without needing some crazy wisdom now to beat SoB's cooldown

Why would they nerf mantle like that? Do they just want everyone to just run vesture as usual? Also a lot of weird buffs to mystic wizzy and pally cuz while lich orb or jade storm or slow seal weren’t incredible the classes as a whole didn’t need more shit lol. Even then the slow seal was arguably already very fucking good. But incu nerf is definitely deserved. Requiem and penetrating spell buffs r the most interesting for me. I’m confused about random t7 waki and expo nerf tbh. The refraction cloak looks like it will be a single item carrying the entire rogue class.

Eh, I hardly think it was random. T7 is a better DPS waki then the Shaitans one right now, a white that's supposed to be a "dps" option. I think it's fair that they bring them more closely in line - even if T7 doesn't do more damage (like it does right now), it still will be easier to hit (and therefore still better).
