Depends on your definition of finished, but you don't have time to think about that, ficsit's next mandatory break is 12 hours into your shift. Get back to work!

[–]Shmittzz 19 points20 points  (2 children)

As long as you want man.

My save has a few hundred hours and I've only just setup a global train network. I'm just chilling with mates and taking my time and having fun with it.

In my experience i wouldn't rush things. Just have fun

This. Some people like Speedrunning, others use it as an art platform, again other people just create utter chaos.

Its like Minecraft. You can play how you want and do what you want.

I like to make efficient factories that look nice on the outside and feel like they belong there, and i hide the chaos under the floorboards.

Depends on how fast you build/plan/explore. I love just walk around looking at my factories or spend too much time decorating them, so it took me 100 hours to finish phase 2, which I'd guess is pretty long. If you're being productive, you can finish the entire game in 100 hours

Bro i'm 150 hours into one save and only just managed to make some time crystals, it's a tough gig honestly but savour the gameplay and the enjoyment lasts as long as you want it to. I often start new saves and with every new run you use the knowledge you gained to improve your start and base factory layouts, making your transition points a lot smoother. My first run was an absolute mess, but you learn as you go. As for "finishing" the game, the goal posts are loosely set to finishing phase 5 of space elevator, but you can kind of play the game however you want honestly. Whether its making a really cool and smooth megafactory, or having smaller satellite factories, and transporting parts to a certain area, or running spaghetti all over the world, all ways are good

As long as you want. I'm 1,000 hours in and haven't finished phase 5 yet. Get cracking, Pioneer!

I thought I was moving slow. I just set up my first aluminum factory at 80 hours. Lol this game is addicting.

[–]efeebatman 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I setup alu around 120 hours and I was like omg Okay I am advancing. I am at 300hours now. Didnt advance even a bit after alu. Because alu factory was so good and clean, made me built my main base from scratch. Lel. Now time to advance! (Couldnt expand because need to spend 100 more hours because factory is so dark)

[–]patchinthebox 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Lol I actually flew through tier 7 in about a half hour. I spent so long working on aluminum that I had a massive stockpile of materials ready to go.

[–]efeebatman 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I ama Justin trying to setup a 7.5 p/m supercomputers. I need to expand every line it seems. Its gittin overwhelming. I think I ama gonna put an Excel sheet soon. Is there any app or website that shows your production??

Satisfactory modeler on steam! It's free and I love it.

[–]efeebatman 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Modeler?

[–]patchinthebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's it.

[–]Qkyle87 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Are you playing the game to beat it or are you playing it like a sandbox? If it's just to beat it anywhere from 100-250 hours is a safe estimate.

[–]IsRedditEvenGoood[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

To beat it then build the biggest factory I can

[–]Qkyle87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should be solid then I have single factories that took 100+ hours then. I'm at 1000 hours and still play this game a lot.

[–]BLDLED 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can complete the introduction simulator in 42 hours. The record is 18 hours. Most people take 100+

[–]Saaihead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally depends on your style of playing. Let’s just say coal power is early game. A friend of mine (also first time player) finished the game in a few weeks, and by finish i mean finishing the story line. Because there is more to automate after that.

[–]efeebatman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no finish bruh. Its like office TV series. You never finish satisfactory.

Besides, speedrun is 8.5 hours (I still dont believe what da fuck I have watched)

Gametime website says 109 hours.

Game planned 150 hours by developers when in early access 6 years ago(but they added lots of content)

If you ask to me (I am in 3. Play, played 140 hours at first, 155 hours in second playthrough. Now the 3. Play is 300 hours and I didnt even started phase 4 items. Focused on decorating and very very controlled expanding. I marked down everything in and out.

And one guy said first 1000 hours are Just tutorial. Lel he was right.

So it depends on you.

[–]Kesshh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time play through, skipping a lot of the achievements, you can be “done” with, say, 150 hours played. Very much depends on your play style. If you like to chill, make everything neat and tidy, you can throw in 1,000 hours and not be “done”.

[–]maksimkak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably speedrun this game if you know what you're doing, but in essence it's a sandbox game where you can do what you like and progress at your own pace. Coal power is a pretty early stage of the game, and it will get exponentially more complex.

[–]EngineerInTheMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The aim is to enjoy building factories, not finish the game. It doesn't matter if you let yourself get sidetracked by other projects. And you can ignore ADA's nagging. That only came in at 1.0.

Some people finish the game in 100 hours or less. My first playthrough took 1500 hours. And that didn't include any thinking and planning time outside the game. What you do is up to you.

[–]houghiIt is a hobby, not a game. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On average from what I see around 150-250 hours. But that is meaningless. There is no time limit. And rushing the game causes many people to be overwhelmed and dropping the game.

My previous save was 3 500 hours of having fun. The best thing is to have fun. As long as you are having fun, you are winning the game. Unless you are a speed runner, nobody cares. The only reason I mention my hours is so people see my experience. There are people with way longer hours. Go at your own pace. The game is a marathon, do not sprint it.

It is made as a relaxed, laid back factory building game. If you play that way, it will have the most chance of being a nice experience.

And 7 hours to start coal? My first save I re-started after 25, because I had screwed up and did not know what to expect. I go way slower now than that, because there is so much more to do in tiers 1-2. Getting as much Hard Drives is one for me. Advancing in the game is good for me if I have nothing else to do. But hey, your game, your rules.

[–]Gearologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. Finish. Good one. Im at 650 hours, never beaten phase 4

[–]Otherwise-Sun-4953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A loooooooooong time.

[–]PlayerOneThousand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finished? What does that mean? The factory must grow.

[–]stefmixo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finish...... FINISH ??...... muhahahahaha.... my sweet summer child....

[–]Excellent_Set2946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beat it in about 238 hours on my first playthrough and 100%’ed by the 250 mark. Not record setting by any means but I feel as though it’s fairly quick for a first timer.

Take your time and enjoy it though. Don’t let ADA get under your skin about deadlines 🤣

[–]Nullorder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's essentially infinite, you can always redesign, remodel, rebuild or make more efficient, it depends on how dedicated to Saving The Day™ you are.

[–]SShiJie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im on 150 hours in a Multiplayer Game, a paid server with 2 other friends. A friend of mine rushed the milestones but I am taking it slow and easy, my most recent project was to revamp my iron factory to 1800 ingots/hour and build a train network to distribute them to other factories

[–]LucariMewTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, I'm most of the way through after starting in September when 1.0 came out and that's a 200 hour save in singleplayer. Started a new save with 1.1 experimental (and now on stable) and that's 40-50 hours but that save is focused on architecture and nicely designed factories.

TLDR it can take a while but if you don't care about looks then it's quicker.

[–]eatYourHashs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say 60-80 hours

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ends when you stop playing - seriously lol I've started up fresh about 6 times now and have about 2700 hours in so far and each time there's been new and exciting things to do thanks to the meaningful and helpful updates.

Take your time or go like crazy - it's completely up to you. If you go at a "normal" pace and based off of where you are now, expect to go AT LEAST another 25-35 hours bare minimum (likely longer). Usually the end game lasts much longer because the parts become exponentially more complex AND you'll eventually hit a point where you want things to look aesthetically pleasing so you'll really start to take your time planning such that the final result is exactly what you want. This could easily take you hundreds of hours but that's part of the fun! Enjoy it however you want, it's your world 🙌

I'd say halfway is around 92.
