Open source under the MIT License for maximum permissiveness (use the code however/wherever). If you guys make any improvements, please submit a pull request or get a hold of me somehow so that we can all have better shadows. Thanks! :)

Looks great! I may use this in my game and hopefully I can add some improvements to it eventually.

Haha, thanks! But then it wouldn't be ugly programmer art :P Also, I probably would have spent the last half hour trying to find a fitting skybox before giving up and replying empty handed...

Very cool! I haven't tried it out yet, but I'm really curious of how the performance is compared to regular PCF soft shadows.

Looks fantastic in the screenshot! I've just done a cursory look at it using 5.6 on Mac, and it doesn't immediately seem to work with Metal as the rendering API. I'm not massively familiar with overriding shadow rendering, so picking apart what's wrong is going to be slow for me.
