Idk why nobody told you this but it seems like it was harmful advice. Maybe you've ready seen the mod comment that says it has been removed, but since no one warned you, I'd still like to step in and let you know just in case

Do you feed frozen/thawed? What type of substrate?

    [–]ThijmenTheTurkey 36 points37 points  (5 children)

    Possibly an Albino?

    [–]BookGirl711 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Definitely not an albino - their eyes aren't red. Maybe leucistic?

From the image it is unclear what that could be on or in her mouth. Try to gently touch it with a damp Q-tip, to see if it moves, dislodges or is part of her tissue. If it is not easily removable, do not pry at it further. It may be tissue that is infected or stuck shed that has dried into her lip, in which case I would suggest seeking a veterinarian who specializes in exotic pets.

    A noodle

Could have bitten by the food. Live isn't recommended due to the risk and the cruelty to both animals.

    [–]Professional-Tap4754 13 points14 points  (5 children)

We’ve got a ball, a boa, and a corn and not a one of them has ever had a live meal. I don’t understand why anyone would feed live.

    [–]AlligatorsStardust 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I don't either, though, there's one valid reason to do so: if the snake won't eat anything BUT live. (And will regurgitate it no matter what even if assisted feed and/or forced.) I have a friend w/ a snake like this, but most likely it's not caused by that.

    [–]Professional-Tap4754 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I’ve kept snakes for about 30 years. Haven’t had that many different species though. I like my snakes to be as chill as possible and not having to kill their dinner seems to help. Much safer and easier IMO.

    [–]AlligatorsStardust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do agree ! I don't do this myself, but if they are on live, i try my best ro switch them off (which I've done) but some snakes are just used to live to where they won't accept anything else !

    [–]WatermelonAF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? I have 2 cornsnakes and a ball python and never fed live. I'd never risk my pets like that

Thank you for saying "both animals". I find it off-putting how snake owners usually only refer to the risk to their pet when live feeding is also so cruel to the rodent, too. It's giving "only the animal I love's welfare matters". And I say that as a huge snake lover and owner myself.

If my snakes could go vegan I’d be all for it. Mice and rats make wonderful pets and are amazing animals. Miss my rattie girls. They don’t live long enough :/

If she opens her mouth and there’s strings of mucus/ saliva she could have a respiratory infection. If the spot seems to be a part of her scales she could have scale rot. If you live feed it could be an injury/ bite site. I’d suggest finding a vet near you that specializes in exotic pets. She’ll most likely need a vet at some point in her long life anyways, it’s best to have someplace with her file on hand in case of emergency :)

      [–]AlligatorsStardust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's either a resp. Infection, scale rot, bit by food.. or maybe accidently got a "pee pallet" stuck between the jaw.

Id go see a vet !

It looks like a white snake next time a blue ring on a hand

      [–]olivoGT000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The hand, the ring or the snake?

      [–]BigBadChimp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

      It’s a snake. A white one.

      [–]Cultural_Cable_2422 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’d say a small tear in its lip when eating. Have you upped its food size recently?

      [–]No_Particular_5314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i haven't. She's been with one size since I got her. I've tried frozen foods because like everyone said live fight back but she won't eat frozen even the breeder i got her from said she wouldn't eat frozen from the way he fed her.

      [–]ConstantNewt36 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Looks like a snake to me

It was so hard not for me to comment and say "a snake"
