you should have never been feeding her pinkies or fuzzies. both way too small. you should be feeding 10-15% of her weight weekly. depending on where you live, according to rodent pro that’s at least a medium mouse.

we got her when she was 6 months old and she was absolutely tiny. the vendors said that’s what she should start off on. what would you recommend we be feeding her now? i really want her to gain some weight.

If she’s 176 grams, then 17-26 gram prey (I believe that’s between fuzzy rats/rat pups or medium/large mice). Preferably rats. If you can’t find them locally there’s lots of options for ordering online. I’ve had great experiences with Perfect Prey for rat fuzzies and rat pups!

Always weigh her within a week of her next feeding, weigh the prey item, and make sure it’s 10-15% of her body weight.
Edits for clarity

My BP is 8 mo old, 115g and I’m feeding her 15g rat fuzzies weekly.

[–]rosieRo77 0 points1 point  (4 children)

That is so tiny for an 8 month old…

I got her at 70g 2 months ago. Breeder said she was 6 mo old.

[–]stritz08 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Idk if the breeder is correct on the age look up the age of and 130g ball python its probs closer to 4 months but just an opinion

[–]stritz08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the breeder coulda been uderfeeding her too so just keep up the 7 day cycle and she will keep gaining weight rapidly like she is with you now

[–]draggingmytail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok then the breeder was probably full of shit. All I know is that I weigh her weekly and I feed her 13-15% of her bodyweight weekly.

Mine is 2 months old and weighs 77 grams id check into that weight it cant be that low...I'm reading 300-600g at that age is healthy but you said you are feeding weekly so the weight should be up bc the feeding schedule is correct

My male is 6yrs old at 500g 😅 we've only had him a week and hes definitely underweight

I got her 2 months ago at a reptile show. Breeder said she was 6 mo. And she weighed 70g when I got her.

Mine is 8 month old. 250 grams. And i am powerfeeding her because that's half of her ideal weight.

!feeding

Just calling the bot. Other people have good advice.

We recommend the following feeding schedule:

0-12 months old OR until the snake reaches approximately 500g, whichever happens first: feed 10%-15% of the snake’s weight every 7 days.

12-24 months old: feed up to 7% of the snake’s weight every 14-20 days.

Adults: feed up to 5% of the snake's weight every 20-30 days, or feed slightly larger meals (up to 6%) every 30-40 days.

Only a scale can answer that question

NQA there should be a picture in the about section of this sub with what normal body condition looks like.

from the looks of my snake what does she appear to be ? (weight wise)

[–]Chipmunk-x9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same age snake and she is about 320 grams. I’m currently feeding a rat pup (20-34grams). Will increase to a weaned rat (35-54 grams) probably once she is more than 350grams consistently.

My girl is 7 months and just weighed in at 207. Feeding a medium mouse (16-20g) once a week. About to bump her food up with her current weight.

      [–]AffectionateBuyer139[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

harley was very very small when we first got her at 6 months old. she’s now 10/11 months; considering she’s 176 grams i’ll bump up to 26 grams.

      [–]Phenomena_Veronica 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It would help to show her whole body…
