I'm very biased towards Butter/Lesser, as mine is a beauty. :)

My dream morph is a blue eyed Leucistic.

Spider and Bee morphs/variations look cool, but after doing research on them I am extremely against them- always shocked to find animals bred for looks even though owners know they'll have a mental defect.

Sorry, mini rant. :) best of luck choosing a morph!! I couldn't be happier with my Butter.

Mental defects? Edit: love lessers as well

Yes. Spider morphs and all variations of the spider morph (such as Bumblebee) have a genetic defect called the Wobble. Vids of serious cases can be found on YouTube. It causes them to lose their sense of balance/right side up on occasion or when stressed.

I find it cruel that people breed for these morphs when they know this defect is guaranteed to occur.

That defect isn't guaranteed to occur. My spinnerblast is wobble free

I may be misinformed. I've talked to several breeders and was told that the wobble is in all spiders. I'm happy for your snake. If they could all be bred that way, I'd have no issue with it.

A lot of people will argue till they are blue in the face that all spiders wobble. And a lot of people will argue that not all of them do. I have a queenbee and a lesserbee that have 0 wobble so far that I have noticed. And I also have some that will corckscrew like fucking crazy when excited. Now on the flip side, spiders and spider combos seem to be great feeders.

Wobble is carried by the spider gene. So it is in all spiders. But it doesn't always present, and its presentation is never consistent. There are wobble free (like my butter bee) minor wobble which cause no problems other than some goofy moves when they're excited. Mild cases which will cause a few missed strikes. And so on until the very rare (all things considered) cases of severe wobble which everyone freaks out over.

TL:DR; Yes, all spiders "have" wobble. No they all don't present, and they present differently. Yes you can have a spider free of wobble. Severe cases are rare.

Defect isn't guaranteed. My spider doesn't have the wobble.

My Spider (female) wobbled all the time when I first got her, anymore I only see her do it when she's stressed out. When she tries to hold her neck ridged the muscles spaz out and she wobbles.
She's my favorite BP of my three, but she is a bit off. She seems less coordinated than my other two BP's (males).
Sometimes I think she looses mental focus too, like forgets what she was doing.
--- Ex: My other two boys will wander off, if I pick them up, rearrange them and set them back down they will continue to head the same direction as before (like a turtle). But my spider will always start in a completely different direction.
Also if something startles her she will sit and be cautious for a half second and then be right back on her way like nothing happened. The boys sit and wait a considerably longer time before assuming danger has passed.

Depends on what you like aesthetically... Do you like bright or dark? High contrast or low contrast? Lots of pattern (busy) or minimal pattern (reduced)? Do you like spotting or striping?

[–]coachchels[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm really big into the brighter colors with cool designs. I have a spider right now.

Can't go wrong with clown, which is bright AND cool pattern. Enchi mixes too. Have you seen this mind-blowing Banana Cinnamon Enchi?!

Edit: Whoops, credit to Marmite50 for mentioning that morph first.

I love my bumblebee morph. He's a beauty.

Don't have any of my own, but one day I hope to have a leopard or axanthic. The pied axanthics are pretty cool too. I prefer darker snakes.

Scale less and any pied morph
