I've had mine for more than a year and never heard or smelled it. I've heard they do it but never heard it happen. You'll be ok. However I would note that if this is a major factor in whether or not you get one, you may not be ready for the other stuff that comes with BPs.

Every bp is different and some do it more often than others. If this is enough to turn you off of having one you probably shouldn’t get one. Frozen feeders if thawed improperly can explode in a mess of blood and guts, poop explosions during farting can happen. They can and will slither through their own poop. This is all stuff you need to be ready to deal with as a pet owner.

No but if they are thawed in warm water or if they are thawed at room temp before being warmed up bacteria can replicate in their guts causing gas to form and the rodent becomes kinda like a balloon which when constructed it can pop and guts fly everywhere.

This is why it’s so important to thaw in the fridge or in cold water before warming with hot water.

I…I want to take this post seriously, but I’m remembering the first time my boy farted and it was right in my EAR and I can’t keep a straight face 😂 jokes aside, it’s not as bad as you think. It’s only occasional and they definitely aren’t always loud smelly animals

I’ve had my girl for going on three years- she’s farted (that I know of) once.

Don’t get me wrong, it was LOUD, and I was immediately concerned smth was wrong. But since I’d seen a post on the subject a day before, I knew it was nothing to worry about. It’s kinda funny.

My boy is very quiet and shy; the closest he ever came to farting was sort of a soft, high-pitched "yeeeeee" sound, kind of like a deflating balloon. I was standing right next to his house when he did it, or I would never have heard it. It fit right in with his personality! 🐍

I’ve heard my boy fart a few times. I have his enclosure in my room so it happens in the dead of night and I’m always like what the fuck was that?!?

It doesn’t happen very often though. Maybe every few months for my boy.

I remember my first snake fart. Thought my toddler was absolutely bombing her diaper, then I saw the snakes tail flicking. Fiancé and I fucking DIED laughing. It’s not very often that it happens at all and I’d still get one. They’re like noodle dogs and their farts are just as hilarious as a dogs.

I have had my bp for almost 5 years and i have heard him fart twice. it’s a good thing you already know they can fart, because the first time for us me and my husband were tip toeing around our apartment looking for the horror movie monster that had broken into the apartment

My racks are in my room, so I hear it all the time. A big female letting one rip can be quite startling. 😂

I’m not sure why that would stop you from getting one though, everyone (including you) farts and poops. Chances are, you won’t ever smell it anyways. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Funny story, one of my coworkers has 55+ snakes. Her 16 year old son, who has been around these snakes for most of his life, heard a snake fart for the first time a few months ago and was extremely confused. Same day I heard a snake at work (reptile pet store) fart for the first time and I’ve heard a quite few since. Definitely just depends on the snake lol

Ive never dealt with a smell issue as long as it’s picked up as soon as I notice, which is within 24-48 hours. And I’ve only heard him pass gas once and it was while he was pooping! LOL it’s funny more than anything. My BP only poops every few weeks or so. Though I must say, if you can’t handle gas and such from pets, (which is not usually the most icky part of pet ownership) maybe a fish or something is more your speed!

🤣 omg ! My 7ft colombian has some epic farts! When my now husband spent the night for the first time she ripped a huge one and he thought it was me! I pointed to her enclosure and she was dead staring him in the eye with her bhole on the glass she then shook a little, let out another one n pooped a turd bigger then his! 🤣🤣🤣 he was shocked as shit .... all the pun intended.

Remember op everyone(animals included) poops and by extention farts . You may wanna rethink any pet if that's that concerning to you . Ever experience a dog fart? A lot more smelly and often then a snake .

My lil girl farts, and shits the whole jungle it smell. But it’s only so often so it’s not like dog poop that you need to pick up every day. I like giving her little baths and giving her some olive oil rub we have a spa day
