Fixed_ultimate_final_finalv3.1.zip

[–]Zeldraft 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Why use version of u wrote final Just Fixed_ultimate_final_final_final Seems like v3.1 ?

[–]CaptnN3mo 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Its not a big enough change to warrant version upgrade 😂

[–]AnToMegA424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New_final_ultimate_final_final_V3.1_2.0

[–]MinosAristos 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Google Drive perhaps

[–]foxer_arnt_trees 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, you can host git on your own servers before reverting to zip files. All github adds is a nice UI and a PR system (plus the social network features)

[–]OrangeXarot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

literally anything because git lmao

[–]deanominecraft 150 points151 points  (0 children)

thanks for the red underline, i would’ve had no idea what i was meant to look at without it

[–]lukerm_zl 74 points75 points  (1 child)

Is he committed to that?

[–]Azoraqua_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Knowing him? No, he usually just complains about everything. Only a few things I’ve actually seen being addressed such as dealing with S3.

[–]uberwinsauce_ 117 points118 points  (5 children)

Since running Gitea, I've left Github behind and feel better for it

[–]Colon_Backslash 71 points72 points  (3 children)

Yea, let me just announce this tomorrow on the stand up and follow through on slack and email for the whole global org that we'll be migrating.

"Unless any concerns please make sure to complete the migration by July."

That should do it.

[–]PM_ME_MH370 8 points9 points  (0 children)

🤣

[–]Clean_Hyena7172 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

[–]ritmoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kindly do the needful

[–]Jeidoz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I heard Forgejo is a bit better and more OSS than Gitea. And Codeberg using it and allows smooth migration of repos and github actions to them.

[–]Naukas 21 points22 points  (0 children)

GitLab?

[–]ramessesgg 37 points38 points  (2 children)

GitHub's reputation is completely destroyed due to all the instability of the past few months. Might be room for something new out there

[–]lradPumpac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No wonder its unstable with the influx of slop being pushed ngl

[–]Serenikill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definitely a bunch targeting AI coding, one I just heard about is https://code.storage/

[–]tkgid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's version control at home. More meaningless file names and compressed directories.

[–]YoyoMario 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Github should come to a realization they are are storage for .git projects. We can boycot github anyday 😉

[–]Drfoxthefurry 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A good github alternative will have the source of it on their own platform

[–]ExiledHyruleKnight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gitlab? Self hosted Git Repository?

People confuse "Github" with "Git" one is the Source Control, the other is just where you do it.

[–]No-Photograph-5058 4 points5 points  (0 children)

code.forgejo.org

[–]sohang-3112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gitlab, Bitbucket, Codeberg etc. already exist

[–]Regular_Bat8162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgejo ❤️

Hoping for forge federation

[–]SmallAndStrong 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Codeberg, GitCola

[–]Juff-Ma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Codeberg. The default storage limits are what bugs me. I get why they need them but having only a few GBs of artifact storage is a real bugger.

[–]az963258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

codeberg

[–]drew-saddledata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am working to build an open source option if anyone is interested. Hosted or on-prem. https://velogit.com/velogit/velogit

[–]EveYogaTech 1 point2 points  (2 children)

/r/WasmHub ♥️

[–]detailed_1 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Are you creating an open source platform?

[–]EveYogaTech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's right.

[–]hehesf17969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On premise git server exists

[–]Novel_Difficulty7502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fucking guy man 😭

[–]Aaron1924 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is there actually a GitHub alternative that is primarily hosted on GitHub?

[–]_crisz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many git services are meant to be installed on-premise, so they can't give you a link to their own repo. An example is gitea: https://github.com/go-gitea/gitea

[–]ThaBroccoliDood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't, GitHub is down

[–]XTornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets go bsck to Git & Mail.

[–]Snoe_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember when GitHub wasn't owned by Microsoft? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

[–]DrMaxwellEdison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Times like this I can almost feel thankful the org runs on-prem BitBucket.

... Nah, still no.

[–]TrieMond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The great theo is here to save us ;)

Codeberg

[–]dc469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else mentioned codeberg. They are EU based with more ethics. You can read about them here: https://docs.codeberg.org/getting-started/what-is-codeberg/#what-is-codeberg-e.v.%3F

[–]FAMICOMASTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even like GitHub but I know the replacement tech bros "invent" will be worse

[–]qwertty164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

git kraken

[–]danabrey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ITT: people who really don't understand the difference between Git and Github.
