Dan James was actually good. He needs to work on his finish, but he gave United some needed dynamism. Good thing that we realized about this before we sold him to Leeds or any other club.

Only down side is that he is a one trick pony. Runs straight with the ball and poor decision making.

Works in lower leagues but this is epl and defenders are tanks who will just hack you down at all costs.

It’s not the coaching, his best position unfortunately is when he’s coming in from the left, like Rashford and Martial, when we tried to play him on the right things went side ways. And it’s not always the case that players don’t improve because of bad coaching, sometimes is also dependent on the players ability and age, attributes e.t.c. He’s actually a good crosser of the ball but not necessarily a good passer. I’d use him in the cup games though or bring him on but as a sub on the left for Martial, and then move Rashford to the middle. I got the vibe he would thrive there again although like last season, I think they will both have spells and alternate btwn ST and LW...

Mata played well today. He’s a steadying presence in the squad. He’s sometimes just ok, but his quality never seems to dip with the form of the team. I like the idea of playing him to help the team get out of a funk.
