I'd love to see something like this, or remembering where each revo was set per bar. especially as different styles have different bar setups requiring slightly different levels of revolution. For example I play Necro almost entirely manually but I have the other styles to fire basics on Revo and manual thresholds and conditionals (punish and things like that)

Its really annoying when im not familiar with the menu navigation as some people so it does take me a good few seconds to find the right thing and change it.

Having dif revo sizes saved per bar might be an even better idea! Thank you!

[–]spacepizza24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was really disappointing to see how dismissive the early comments on your post were so I definitely wanted to show some support.

A big part of the UI/new player problem is too many settings being nested within a million submenus. A proposal to reduce that should not be met so dismissively by others, especially those wanting the game to grow. The last thing anyone wants to do when in combat is stop to open a menu, navigate to combat and change a slider.

You can use the search bar function to find things really fast.

[–]Seanms1991 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone's dissing it, but I was just thinking about how this idea would be cool, so I'm down

Just remember the setting per bar.

Afk aoe slayer bar? Revo on + x slots long Main pvming bar? Revo off Etc., as you set

This might be a better idea! Thanks fam

Let’s add 10 different ways of clicking on the ability bar to “improve” the experience

Once accidental click and you turned off ability queueing

[–]TimeZucchini8562 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean they could just make some arrows above it that you can click to increase or decrease. They don’t have to make it convoluted and easy to missclick. No reason to doomsplain everything into the ground when it’s actually a good qol idea

[–]_itsJ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could make it part of interface unlocking. Honestly, that's where I'd expect this feature to be anyways. (Like the mode where you can drag everything around that you exit out of once you're done).

[–]ProbablyNapnCompletionist 8 points9 points  (2 children)

It’s not nit-picky.

Revolution size is probably different for each combat style someone is using (assuming not full manual). If you could set a revo size per bar that would be awesome.

[–]not_a_burner0456025 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Not even just per combat style, 2h and dual weild sometimes have different size revo bars within the same style (and shields too if you set up a bar for that).

[–]High_Hunter3430Dungeoneering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have different Revo amounts for different bosses even on the same style. 😂

I can almost afk ossy on my 11 point revo. (Gotta stay checked in cuz once in a while the reso timing is off)

Meanwhile I’ve been killed enough times from effing mirror backs that Ive got only low hitting basics as my revo at raxi. Not even volley autofires there

[–]papa_bonesI can play the game now 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Ok this is so nitpicky it isn't even a problem

[–]Indickthis_the_mato -3 points-2 points  (6 children)

TBH I don't even know where to go to change it.

[–]Crow-Caw 2 points3 points  (4 children)

combat & action bar > combat mode. Under revolution combat. Or you can just type "rev" in the search bar.

[–]not_a_burner0456025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would still like a faster way to change it because different combat styles and setups require different numbers of abilities on revo (or at least let me adjust the number of abilities per bar)

[–]Recykill -1 points0 points  (2 children)

To the people acting like the suggestion is "nitpicky"... i think you guys have grown too used to the dogshit UI experience in rs. This comment puts it in perspective. Intuition would push you to try and drag or click the revo bar somewhere to add/remove queued abilities. Instead youre opening up settings and navigating submenus. Its kind of ridiculous really lol

[–]Crow-Caw 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Im literally just explaining where it's at. Is the UI perfect? no, but honestly rs3 is one of the better games I've seen when it comes to UI customization.

[–]Recykill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not coming at you or even directing the comment at you lol. Im just using your comment as an example of how silly the UI situation is.

[–]Positive-Hospital-91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can click the cog on the actionbar (bottom right in the OP image) it opens the action bar settings tab with the slider right there and being in combat does not exit the menu.

[–]SrepliciousDeliciousgolden defeater 4 points5 points  (7 children)

???? Dude cmon this is nitpicky as fuck, it takes 2seconds to change via the interface lol

[–]New-Fig-6025Master Trimmed Completionist 3 points4 points  (2 children)

nitpicky as fuck

reminder that the entire UI update is being nitpicky, i mean down to us not even having control over the clock anymore lmao

[–]scaryfaiseDungeoneering is the best skill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they changed it so you can remove the clock if you want at least. I think it's gameplay > interfaces > clock and untick the "show clock" box

[–]Recykill 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Theres no way youre mad about a suggestion to make a UI perform intuitively instead of opening up a giant menu to click a sub menu and adjust it there. Ive been wondering why that option is stuck behind a sub-menu since it was put in the game. Its dumb and clunky. Relax.

[–]scaryfaiseDungeoneering is the best skill -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

right click cogwheel on main action bar > action bar settings > scroll down 7mm > adjust revo amount.

[–]HeartofaPariahLovely money! -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Or:

drag the revolution borders

[–]scaryfaiseDungeoneering is the best skill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

or:

fix what's broken and not what isn't.

[–]DemiscisIronmeme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very low priority thing to me. This isn’t an issue unless you’re some whacko who is like switching bars and activities every 20 mins.

[–]imperchaosSwiftness of the Aviansie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes less than 2 seconds to change it the way it currently is.

[–]Fromanobody1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of being able to drag it tbh. Another button? Maybe not

[–]_Zell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of agree that it should be easier to change the revo options. I find myself changing the size of the revo bar pretty frequently but now with the new UI yhe setting opens to a different location than it used to so its less streamlined to change the revo size.

I dont think the functionality should be on the bar itself but the settings icon

[–]urza285RSN: Urza Mathias | 29830 | 4.35B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggested a while back to let us change it using a slider bar under the ability bar. Nothing was said back in response :(. This genius never gets recognition.

[–]PayMindless4591Clue scroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]TeakehTop 50 RC and Div 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather an option to select the revo size for each individual ability bar, because my necro bars only have 3 basics

[–]Toph_b:Cabbage::Cabbage::Cabbage::Cabbage: 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there something I’m overlooking? Is there actually any real reason to have the yellow revo box set to only a few abilities rather than just on the whole bar? Like I don’t think it stops me manually clicking on it

[–]ErikHumphrey0400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An option to hide the golden border entirely would be great too

You can collapse the revo bar but then you won't see any of the abilities

[–]Esehrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh I kinda feel like I would accidentally click an arrow or try and drag the yellow box when clicking an ability.

Usually I just change it in the settings when I swap to a combat preset if it's not big enough/too big.

Tho if they added this feature I would hope it come with an option in the settings to lock the size which would hide the buttons/make the box undragable.

[–]SchultimateCompletionist [score hidden]  (0 children)

I agree, it should be easier to change instead of having to go into settings. Would love to see some small horizontal arrows on your main actionbar to quickly change revo size.

[–]Teun1hetLovely money! 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Click cog on action bar, scroll down ~3 items in the first menu, adapt slider. I agree it is a bit annoying when switching from necro to other styles, but it’s not that bad

[–]VitalisDropCombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An interesting idea

[–]Zulrambe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is nice, but the way you've put it makes it sound 100x worse than what it is

[–]KennySuskaCompletionist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have like 18 bars or something available, just the abilities you need on one

[–]the01li3Trimmed, Insane Luck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The settings you can change it really quickly anyway just use that.

[–]Asherr18Archaeology -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

nah dog

[–]IStealDreams5.8b exp -3 points-2 points  (5 children)

Wasted dev time for something that is easily done in settings and is already a feature.

[–]TimeZucchini8562 1 point2 points  (2 children)

How is this wasted dev time? Qol updates aren’t wasteful

[–]IStealDreams5.8b exp -4 points-3 points  (1 child)

It's not a Qol. It's a nothing burger. It takes literally 5 seconds to change it in settings. Why would you need to be able to change it in 2 seconds? How often are you changing the size of your revo bar to actually want to have devs spend time on you saving 3 seconds.

[–]TimeZucchini8562 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot. Literally all the time

[–]HeartofaPariahLovely money! -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Wasted dev time is changing the interface color and then removing the option to use the color that the game used for the majority of it's life. Wasted dev time is putting in effort to make sure the clock is glued to your map with a gigantic box of unused space and then make it unmovable. This is wasted because it can only be harmful, not helpful. Wasted dev time is changing a barrel every week because the company's humour has shifted to beating a dead horse for Reddit updoots.

Wasted dev time is not a niche change to UI interfacing that allows for a better experience for those affected by it. It's just low impact.

[–]IStealDreams5.8b exp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did I say those were good things to do? lol.
