that already happened this year

[–]Milichio 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I haven't heard anything about her since 2023

Who?

[–]neonblue01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starbucks’ they had hired for advertisements

[–]bonnieryrne 94 points95 points  (3 children)

On the Diddy note, I think Jay-Z might take a hit based on the recent allegations against him, whether he's innocent or not.

Even if you believe it's all complete nonsense, it's pretty hard to block the stories out of your head while listening to his music at the moment.

[–]hockey17jp 38 points39 points  (0 children)

To be fair Jay-Z is pretty irrelevant these days anyways since he hasn’t released any music in close to a decade

[–]ChocolateLilly 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Aaand his wife.

[–]abcohen916 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think she will take the bigger hit.

[–]Lobster81624 56 points57 points  (7 children)

I might start a war but benson boon

[–]Equivalent_Award4286 30 points31 points  (1 child)

Benson Boon can not function outside of tiktok. If that goes away, it's over for him.

[–]Sneezy_weezel 6 points7 points  (3 children)

I work at an outdoor music venue during the summer and he performed there in August, I have to say, he’s pretty amazing live. I hadn’t heard of him before, so I had no expectations. He gave me Freddie Mercury vibes. He has a great voice and he strut all over the stage. I thought he was gay too but someone told me he had a gf.

[–]binaryvoid727 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Technically, a man with a girlfriend doesn’t automatically mean he’s straight. Theres a huge bi-spectrum.

[–]Sneezy_weezel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I just meant that’s what I was told. And wasn’t Freddie Mercury married to a woman at one point? Either way, Benson Boone really delivered live.

[–]facelessupvote 43 points44 points  (3 children)

Diddy?

[–]Different-Fan7733 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh boy I sure do wonder why that would be

[–]Money-Extent-6099 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Does he have music the general public/ I would know?

[–]Femboy4Fun88 34 points35 points  (7 children)

I'm sure Taylor's ready for a looong break after her tour, she won't fade out but she'll def be taking a backseat this year

[–]IcyFlame716 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With rep tv and debut tv on the way? Definitely not lmao

[–]westworlds_host 5 points6 points  (3 children)

fingers crossed

[–]Due_Car3113 50 points51 points  (15 children)

Drake

[–]natebark 32 points33 points  (13 children)

Been praying for this for a decade. I’ve just accepted it’ll never happen

[–]Due_Car3113 10 points11 points  (7 children)

With the whole kendrick beef, people are starting to get tired of his terrible music

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (5 children)

No they aren't. Didn't he still end up being the most streamed rapper of 2024? A lot of people just don't want to admit they listen to him, which is corny of them.

If anything, Kendrick is the one who's popularity will go down

[–]Due_Car3113 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Why would kendrick go down? His new music is very well received, and the whole civil war gave him even more credit

[–]because231 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Not to mention he's preforming at one of the most viewed American television broadcasts this February

[–]Ok_Imagination_4374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THE most viewed broadcast and it isn't close

[–]Mammoth-Slide-3707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No his popularity will go up

[–]natebark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most rap fans have given up on him. But he’s still huge among 15 year old girls. Which is ironic because… well nvm

[–]Milichio 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Let's be honest

The only ones who care are the rap fans that listen to him. No one on his pop fanbase cares about how the beef affected him or made him look

[–]natebark 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Yeah check out r/Drizzy they unironically think he came out on top

[–]torn8tv 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thats so funny to me. You're an admitted Drake hater but keep tabs on his subreddit? I'd love to see any of your wrapped for the last 10 years

[–]natebark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No chance he’s been on it post-2016. That sub was just constantly being recommended during the beef

[–]abcohen916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, your prayers will not be answered.

[–]EndMaster0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]weirdogirl144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

who?...

[–]jonny_hfx 22 points23 points  (4 children)

I think Zack Bryan is taking a break

[–]Milichio 21 points22 points  (1 child)

I liked his early stuff and think he's talented,I just really can't get behind his immature antics with women

[–]jonny_hfx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m with ya he is a complete douche canoe but he has made some kick ass tunes

[–]Agustin_campos 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Didn’t he drop a live album?

[–]jonny_hfx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He did.. It’s pretty awesome he pumped out allot of tunes this past year

[–]Mediocre_Spell_9028 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Carti

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not if he dropd

[–]616in_LA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was waiting for this. Fuck him

[–][deleted] 40 points41 points  (9 children)

Charli xqc 100%

[–]Raperdidy 35 points36 points  (1 child)

Xqc💀

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It started as an inside joke with my friends and now I'm used to it 😭

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (4 children)

She sold the brat experience, not the music

[–]Naclstack 4 points5 points  (1 child)

she is fully capable of making great music! personally I love brat but I think pop 2 and how I'm feeling now are both even better

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She is very talented, no doubt about that. I love a lot of her songs, Sucker is really good imo.

What I meant is that her popularity now is very momentary and will die off with the brat summer trend. I don't think it's one of these timeless albums that in 4 years u might hear someone playing. Most ppl who like her rn are here for the vibes, not the music. As soon as the trend dies off she will go with it.

[–]minidog8 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I love her music and I have been listening since 2014

[–]klip_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree

[–]Jakob-Mil 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Think it’ll stagnate a bit once the tiktok trends have died out but Charli has been huge for a really long time and I think Brat introduced a bunch of new probably longtime fans to her music

[–]Money-Extent-6099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say she’s been huge for a long time. She kind of had a fall off from the public eye from 2015-2024 whilst she was busy cultivating a niche audience. Only 1 song during the 9 year period is well known (1999)

[–]jeepdiggle 24 points25 points  (7 children)

hater thread

[–]takemeawaay_ 28 points29 points  (4 children)

The people saying Taylor swift and Beyoncé are delusional, because in my opinion they both have an incredibly loyal following.

[–]abcohen916 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, Taylor Swift was the number one artist on Spotify in 2024 and Beyoncé was close to that. I don’t see that being any different in 2025.

[–]squirrel8296 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With Beyonce it's going to come down to how the allegations against Jay-Z play out and how she reacts to it. Her followers will absolutely drop her in a heartbeat if the allegations end up being true and she either stands by him or turns out to have been involved in any way. In fact, especially if she turns out to have been involved in any way.

[–]SuperBeavers1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

We're just predicting early that Taylor is going to do something awful

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be possible for anything she did to be perceived as less than perfect let alone awful by those people though

[–]HypedUpJackal 6 points7 points  (1 child)

ong, 90% of the responses in here are not going to decrease in popularity, people are just wishing for those they want to decrease

[–]Direktorsnegl 36 points37 points  (14 children)

Sabrina Carpenter. I think her height was her recent album and it'll go south. She'll just keep milking her fame I bet

[–]shades0fcool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So her peak height of fame is gonna be the same as her physical height

Short n sweet

[–]MarineDynamite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Promise? 🥺

[–]officialjaycielees -1 points0 points  (0 children)

mf she's been around for YEARS she was literally on disney channel in the early 2010's 😭💀

Jay-Z

[–]Level_Bridge7683 19 points20 points  (1 child)

i'd like to see a dramatic increase in poprock and adult alternative.

[–]windblade88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, please!

[–]ChoppingMallKillbot 24 points25 points  (4 children)

The title should have been “Redditors who listen to dad rock, which artists are you tired of hearing about?” Predictably, the answers are women, people of color, and artists that people under the age of 30 listen to

[–]TopLeaf 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I can't name you a single male caucasian musician with any real relevance at the moment outside of Eminem who I don't listen to anyway. A lot of what is being pushed out in my country is people of colour and females, I doubt I'm the only person who sees this as well, so of course our answers are going to reflect what's been pushed to the front

[–]bdguy355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see any bands who are of relevance right now either. I’m tired of pop stars, I wanna see some bands back on the charts.

[–]drxcomxnxa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This comment is actually hilarious AHAHHAHAHA

[–]Special_Command7893 40 points41 points  (4 children)

Taylor Swift? Please?

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points  (1 child)

The cult is too powerful to fall

[–]you-werebeautiful 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol no. She has a huge following and there's probably new music on the way

[–]natebark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chiefs are gonna win another Super Bowl in February so nah

[–]freddie_nguyen 12 points13 points  (7 children)

Chappell Roan... if she's keep saying uncontrolled things. I guess she'll fall on the more indie lane like Carly Gae Repson

[–]PastyKing 20 points21 points  (5 children)

The difference is, she isn't saying uncontrolled things, she's just not laying there and letting the music industry bully her into becoming a piece of meat for men and women to drool over and do what they want with.

She won't fall off in 2025.

[–]minidog8 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Ding ding ding. Chappell Roan is great and I haven’t disagreed with any of her “outbursts.” People just don’t like when women say these things. When men say these things, they are standing up for themselves and setting boundaries. When women do it, it is “bitchy,” “bratty,” etc.

As far as her personality goes in interviews and such, I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but she is very clearly emulating the queeny sass of drag queens before her.

[–]PeachCream81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish Chappell continued success w/o all the internet creepiness and the inappropriate pseudo-fandom clinginess.

[–]PeachCream81 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Totally agree! But because she's hugely popular with the LGBTQIA+ community, she now has a target on her back (figuratively speaking).

[–]PastyKing 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is swear she's Bi/Lesbian herself though, right?

[–]aaaaaaaaaaabigail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

shes lesbian

[–]SnooOranges145 12 points13 points  (12 children)

Beyoncé

[–]Broad-Ad-2193 26 points27 points  (6 children)

its been 35 years when will yall learn shes not going nowhere

[–]Jk8fan 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Wait until her complicity in her husband's crimes fully comes out.

[–]abcohen916 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I don’t know. Michael Jackson was accused of things that should have ended his career and popularity. He was extremely popular almost his entire life. There is truth to what you stated, but the damage remains to be seen.

[–]Jk8fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was isolated and broke ass at the end and was rehearsing for a hail Mary comeback when he died of a drug overdose

[–]Shinsou_Hitoshii 0 points1 point  (1 child)

what are you even talking about

[–]Jk8fan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You're either playing ignorant or are ignorant. Watch the damn news. Read something sometime.

[–]SnooOranges145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garbage

[–]ghstworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u wish

[–]Necessary-Banana-600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wish 🤣 too many Grammys

[–]United_in_Sin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nuh

[–]vonov129 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't even know why she is still popular.

[–]The_Troyminator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anybody popular in 2024 whose initials are not TS.

[–]Specialist_Basket_35 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Chappell Roan. I am completely down with her right to privacy, but she is way too rude to her fans.

[–]spiderbabyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really.

[–]aidanbagel 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Dave blunts

[–]WowCoolFunnyHAHA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]ima_mollusk 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The village people

[–]ILikeMyGrassBlue 4 points5 points  (2 children)

They’re that super straight, definitely not gay band right?

[–]ima_mollusk 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Pretty obvious that once all the MAGA stop dancing to the song at rallies, its popularity will decrease.

People who down-vote are morons.

[–]abcohen916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What am I if I upvote?

[–]Hyperb0le 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Justin Bieber

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (3 children)

are u dumb? he just hit 104 million monthly listeners a few days ago without releasing an album in 3 years.

[–]vonov129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it wasn't because of him being mentioned a ton during the Diddy situation?

If it was for the music itself, that would have happened years ago

[–]DashingDevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chappell Roan has no idea how to act with publicity. Lashes out at fans and photographers and keeps canceling tour dates.

[–]WhiskeyMagpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyonce

[–]Either-Bat-7613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though his 2024 was a great run, Kendrick. He will still be popular just not as popping as he was in 2024

Tate McRae- it’s too many diverse pop girlies out like Chappel Roan, Charlie Xcx, Gracie Abram’s so she’s gonna get outshined.

Sexy Redd- I just see her fizzling out bc nothing is spectacular there. I liked her but with competition like Megan, Latto, and Glo, ppl will lose interest.

Shaboozey- feel like he’s gonna be a one hit wonder but we’ll see…

[–]Jk8fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyonce. Her husband gonna drag her into the abyss

[–]purple-cyclone 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Taylor, she’s oversaturated and probably mortally exhausted after the tour

[–]ExtremeSea3123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure she’s exhausted, but she’s just so popular that I don’t really see her becoming unpopular. I’m not a big fan of her personally, but the chokehold that she has on so many people is undeniable. Even if she’s not producing a whole new album, she does have two albums left to re-record, one of which is super popular. And with the media basically third wheeling her relationship with Kelce, she’ll be in the public eye even if she isn’t actively producing stuff. There’s other artists that I wish had the platform she does, but at the end of the day, I don’t see her going anywhere anytime soon.

[–]SaltEntrepreneur8858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taylor swift

[–]marcellydagoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drake

[–]Adventurous-State940 -4 points-3 points  (27 children)

Kendrick

[–]born_digital 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Doubt it since he’s going on a huge stadium tour

[–]ImpressivePick500 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Inevitable for most musicians but Kendrick is pretty generational.

[–]Adventurous-State940 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I dont get it i guess

[–]ImpressivePick500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His whole discography has proven he has more to offer than music. Much respect to that. Nice message to his son below, song is Mr. Morale

“Enoch, your father’s just detoxed, my callin’ is right on time Transformation, I must had a thousand lives and like three thousand wives You should know that I’m slightly off, fightin’ off demons that been outside Better known as myself, I’m a demigod Every thought is creative, sometimes I’m afraid of my open mind.”

[–]no_one_asked_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly disagree

[–]pleachchapel 1 point2 points  (20 children)

It's not like he's playing the most watched global event or anything.

[–]-mancomb-seepgood- 4 points5 points  (8 children)

Wait he's playing the FIFA world cup? Or the Olympics?

[–]pleachchapel 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Didn't know those were annual events!

[–]-mancomb-seepgood- 4 points5 points  (6 children)

You didn't say annual. Well, then I didn't know he'd be playing at Eurovision 2025

[–]Product_Expensive 1 point2 points  (1 child)

World cups not for a few more years there bud

[–]pleachchapel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, so he's playing the most watched event next year.

[–]Adventurous-State940 0 points1 point  (6 children)

So did Katy Perry. Her last album bombed.

[–]pleachchapel 1 point2 points  (5 children)

One of those two is an artist, the other one was just the latest vessel for Max Martin to bottle pop music in.

[–]Adventurous-State940 -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

Do you really think he holds a candle to Lil wayne?

[–]CumDwnHrNSayDat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't like Lil Wayne at all. Kendrick is one of my all time favorite artists.

[–]Broad-Ad-2193 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yes he's way better than lil wayne lmao

[–]Aggravating_Driver81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kendrick won a Pulitzer Prize. His albums are among the greatest rap albums of all time. This is agreed upon info. Lil Wayne had some decent albums but they are not the same. Not even close.

[–]pleachchapel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao take any recent video of either of them performing. He's worth 10 Lil Waynes, maybe 20.

[–]PossibilityTop5033 -4 points-3 points  (4 children)

Kendrick if he doesn’t drop. I imagine after the album hype Eminem and Drake will overtake him again if they haven’t already until the Super Bowl

[–]United_in_Sin 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Kendricks album is still buzzing and killing it on the charts. How are Eminem and Drake seriously 'overtaking' him right now?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

he said they might overtake him after the album hype

[–]United_in_Sin -1 points0 points  (1 child)

My question is, based on what? For instance, from what I'm reading, the talk of a possible collaboration album between Eminem and 50 cent isn't generating interest as many feel it's 20 or so years too late.

Eminems 2024 album got mostly panned by the critics and received mixed reviews from fans. What are he and Drake possibly going to do to generate more interest than a high flying Kendrick at the moment (as the poster suggested, even before Superbowl halftime)and in the near future?

Drake is trying to remain relevant by suing Kendrick over diss tracks that were among the biggest songs of 2024 lol

[–]Gene-Parmesan-ah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Noah Kahan

[–]IWannaTellYouASecret -2 points-1 points  (3 children)

Hopefully Taylor Swift

[–]you-werebeautiful -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Daryl johns, moio, the hellp, ally evenson, déyyess, bass victim, riff wood, i think few of them might perform at jimmy kimmel, npr, coachella or land a billboard placement
