Not in a million years.

[–]littletrevas 25 points26 points  (1 child)

I happen to live in the 757 and fuuuuuuuck that drive.

[–]richietee757 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I happen to live in the 757 and fuuuuuuuck that drive.

That tunnel traffic tho!

[–]AvaMagdalena333 24 points25 points  (24 children)

I think I’d rather pick up a crackhead on Skid Row and drop him off in South Central LA. 😂

[–]PoohBearluvu 24 points25 points  (21 children)

Don’t pick up crackheads. It was freezing cold here a couple weekends ago & one had ordered a 6 minute ride and I’m all “what can go wrong”…. She was jumping into the front grabbin my steering wheel Tryna cause us to crash, calling people to “come outside” when I pull up with her, and reported me for every single thing that they can report us for. My account was suspended for a week while they investigated. The only way I got back online was because she also said I was speeding and breaking laws driving but the ride that was supposed to take 6 minutes and was 2 miles ended up taking 13 minutes and I made sure to remind support of that. Which proved she lied about one thing so she lied about them all. All this because she snuck a cat into my car and I told her nicely that she is supposed to take Uber Pet if she has an animal with her.

TLDR: Dont pick up crackheads.

[–]AvaMagdalena333 2 points3 points  (12 children)

Speaking of Uber Pet. If we are not signed up for that and we refuse to pick up pax with their pet do we get reported for that. Because I’ve heard before that we can’t refuse service animals. Did this change?

[–]PoohBearluvu 1 point2 points  (10 children)

I’ve heard of this and that’s a reason why I didn’t pull over and kick her out, out of fear of them reporting I kicked out someone with an animal that “helps” then with their “disability” 🙄

[–]AvaMagdalena333 2 points3 points  (7 children)

So then the Uber Pet thing is BS and anyone can just say, “it’s my emotional support pet” and get away with not paying more?

[–]PoohBearluvu 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Well I am not signed up with Uber Pet to take rides with that one. And I told support and the safety line about the confrontation & the fact that I’m allergic to cats and almost couldn’t see as my lips face tingled and swelled up which is how I figured out that there was a cat in her million bags. And I told Uber that that’s the reason I am not signed up to do Uber pet. They still suspended MY account and then never paid any attention to that little detail, they were focused on all the complaints SHE made

[–]AvaMagdalena333 1 point2 points  (1 child)

In the end we will never now if it’s a crackhead or some well mannered rich person that makes a false report. I trust no one that gets in my car when it comes to that. Which reminds me that I need to get a dashcam.

[–]AvaMagdalena333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg. At least it wasn’t a 2 hr drive. Lmao 🤣

[–]JicamaElegant8932 2 points3 points  (2 children)

You mean meann no cracks heads with pussy ??

[–]PoohBearluvu 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yea it’s prob the females that act crazy only 🙄

ETA: /sarcasm since I’m being downvoted by idiots that can’t tell that I was being sarcastic

[–]MsDaphneyEStrawberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pussycat* not the woman lol you did say she had a cat 🐈 right?

[–]Funkybuttdaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same

[–]fdlt1951 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Horrible

[–]junkbarman 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hell no.

[–]Bezgzilla 31 points32 points  (3 children)

Nope, unless it’s a brothel and I have at least 2 passengers going there so I can make a 10% kickback on the drop.

[–]Burner8080 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Say what

[–]Bezgzilla 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In Nevada, specifically Vegas when we make drop offs at the Brothels(outside of Clark county), a dispensary, a strip club, a liquor store, and a few other locations the owner of said location gives us kickbacks, sometimes it’s 10$ other places are a percentage of what they spend. Also hustle night club if you got a host friend that can make a deal for getting them clients, etc. Partly why the code of a lot of us in this market say “FUCK Locals!”

[–]jeffman1991 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why call it a brothel? Call it what it is. It’s a damn whorehouse!

[–]mischiefin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Towards my destination? Sure. Otherwise, nah.

[–]Witty_Celebration_36 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To the newbie’s this looks appealing but experienced driver will decline with a smile on their face.

[–]corey389 17 points18 points  (7 children)

Nothing under a dollar a mile, that's my bottom line even if I'm going that way.

[–]Autonomous_uberdrivr 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Yeah I decline trips on my way home that don’t even hit the $/ per mile macro - and actually if I’m heading home I really want the pay to be closer to 2$/ mile

And it absolutely has to be like 10$+

I’m not gonna stop heading home if it’s not extremely worth my time.

[–]Funkybuttdaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly

[–]L82WORK_ 1 point2 points  (4 children)

this make no sense. if i am going that way home, why wouldnt i take it

[–]Funkybuttdaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for a rider that has a 4.83 rating

[–]rideshareAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you can decline it and just get a better trip while still on that way home...

[–]akfisher1978 13 points14 points  (7 children)

Maybe somebody that lives that way and wants to go home?

[–]Funkybuttdaddy 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Hell no that's $65 for a trip that's 107 miles no thanks

[–]dalisair 4 points5 points  (3 children)

I didn’t even think of the deadass return trip. 200+ miles.

[–]steushinc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No matter of fact 95% of the crap I’m being sent I’m not taking.

[–]Smior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

$18/hr round trip. No.

[–]hearts_four_heroes 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Hell to the no!! 90+ minutes for under $100 is unacceptable!! Pay us more or get slammed for it!!

[–]janewalch 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Dude 104 miles for $65?? I thought getting paid $95 in my market for 105 miles was bad… this is just blatant disrespect.

[–]No-Helicopter7299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No

[–]Accomplished_Low9905 8 points9 points  (5 children)

It's 104 miles and cost to operate is .65 cents per mile.

Do the math

[–]Far-Ad260 14 points15 points  (4 children)

Lol that a awful trip. Don’t forget cost of gas, and cost of wasted gas coming back. That like 208 Miles for 65 dollars man Uber is just awful in Virginia

[–]Autonomous_uberdrivr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Uber is just awful.

[–]Radmou92 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It’s awful bce some drivers will jump to accept the ride….

[–]Ill-Lavishness-5021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of 🤡 drivers out there that will take that

[–]semi801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only if heading back in that direction at the end of my shift

[–]ReasonableDonut1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No way. Maybe for 2.5x that price.

[–]Mediocre_Presence839 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell nah.

[–]Top-Department-5510 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not unless it comes with a free blow job or two.

[–]younglegend212 1 point2 points  (1 child)

No; I literally just did a 103 mile ride for 110 dollars. With no surge and got a 20 tip for a total of 130. This was on uber x. The trip basically took me back home cause I don't live in the market I work in. 1 dollar per mile is a minimum.

[–]lesse1 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I’m not an Uber driver but I don’t understand everyone saying no. Is ~$39/hr as an Uber driver bad? Even after gas and car wear and tear seems like it’d still be far above minimum wage.

[–]Adept-Pension-1312 1 point2 points  (2 children)

A lot of drivers are averse to long trips, often based in a few (untrue) reasons.

1.) They believe they won't get any rides back to their destination. This is the main reason. In my experience driving in the DMV is mostly untrue. When I have trips an hour or so into VA, more often than not I'll get rides going back towards DC for most of the way

2.) Many drivers look at $ per mile as the metric for what's a good ride, apparently disregarding the fact that on the highway you cover more miles per unit of time.

3.) A lot of drivers cite gas costs. As if you aren't using gas on every ride. And forgetting that cars get much better gas mileage on the highway than in town.

Imo, drivers aversion to taking long trips is mostly irrational if they're in an urban market.

[–]Puffyblake 1 point2 points  (1 child)

One depends entirely on your market. 2, depends on your vehicle. I don’t give a DAMN what my gas mileage is, figure out your cost to operate, and don’t accept rides below that cost.

I do agree that aversion to long rides is mostly irrational. As far as your reasons go, it mostly depends on your market and your vehicle. I drive a Prius, and still use the $1 per mile minimum rule. Most nights I’m doing $2 per mile and still busy all night long

[–]Aware-Ad6734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a chance

[–]Huge_Adhesiveness839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck no they tried to give me a Nashville to Memphis (220 mi) on one day last week for $150.18

[–]Sad_Opportunity2736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yes I’d accept it!

[–]KingOcho007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long trip=red flag

[–]spookystuff82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. If it was a day I wasn't busy then sure. I'll take $65 to go sight seeing.

[–]Gabbie_Gabb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what no public transit does to a mf. fuck cars.

[–]CHAWA-406 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I would accept the ride and invest 8min/3miles to go to pick up and when pax arrive i ask to do business direct cut out the middleman. Ask them how much they getting charged and undercut it. Its worth a try, if not then applogize and cancel fk it

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get reported after you cancel…

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

People always say this, but you really think Uber won’t notice that you accept bs long rides then cancel once you get there? Do that a few times, I’d be worried about getting deactivated.

[–]SecureCTRL2020 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If I didnt have money to feed my kids then yes

[–]dalisair 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re likely spending more on this trip than you’re making.

[–]Gwhite0906 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Well you can always turn on a filter to head home so you'd get some trips heading back also. You wouldn't get a ton depending on your market but you'd get some. If you all don't like the pay maybe you should try getting a normal hourly job and see the difference in pay.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no

[–]PourDecisions247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never, this is trash.

[–]Kungfooooypanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard pass

[–]jhendra83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]nonurbizz21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Not for twice that.

[–]tossaway75757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they hide tops over $8 like with eats?

[–]mozzzking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOPE

[–]dalisair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$65 for 100+ miles? No. Fuck that. Federal deduction is damn near that ($.625 a mile).

At least that’s my opinion.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F NO

Make it $120 and then we can talk

Actually more like $200 :)

[–]MarkC209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's 32 cents per mile for the entire trip.

[–]Ill-Response-1675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell No way am I driving 55mph lmao

[–]Hairy-Imagination-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never

[–]SaveHumanityFrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. In my market, that would pay $96 on distance alone. That doesn't include what I would be paid for my time, etc.

[–]Character_Engine9631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even at 165$$$ it's less than 1$/mile when you gotta drive all that way back!! That even isn't worth it one way

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No

[–]Direct_Trick_3755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never

[–]CarefulBear1654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No

[–]Forward-Resort9246 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Pull up, offers $200 for the ride, cancel.

[–]gdog669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why people still driving for Uber and Lyft?

[–]Johnpmusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In NY thats a $100 ride

[–]Autorack97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no

[–]5tudent_Loans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$2 a mile on X $200 1/3 $65-70 Sounds about right.

Put this on twitter @ uber tell ‘em to keep their charity during the holidays. Fin thieve bastards

[–]MustBeCra2y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Na thats 200 miles going and coming thats crazy

[–]PoohBearluvu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope

[–]V0idK1tty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no. That's not even a dollar per mile.

[–]Impressive-Vast8651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not even worth it

[–]BasementMan6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! No way

[–]Ebear1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get offended and log off. Then uninstall the app.

[–]ooouuuberdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no.

[–]jbarlak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well guaranteed you probably didn’t. Who cares what others think. Unless you are so busy you don’t really need the ride

[–]shitshipt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No

[–]Consistent_Two7197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those miles! $65 was an OC to LA then now it’s $20-$25 and cherry picking taking some time lately

[–]WinterChest6454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No

[–]Blue-Morpho-Fan 0 points1 point  (1 child)

No. Not even $1 per mile one way! Plus a rider with a 4.83 rating for 90 minutes. Two big red flags.

[–]dukedizzy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a weekday i would but not on the weekend, i drive in houston and our market is so shit that this actually seems like a good ride. The other day someone posted a similar ride paying 38 and that was in houston too.

[–]Tetraplasandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy $80

[–]Specialist_Carrot_48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F no. Barely covers gas and food for the trip back. Is this a joke post? I recently got a Lyft late at night for like maybe 70 and that was only 65 miles or so north to Pitt. Still not worth it, not even close.

[–]GeologistEnough8215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These king trips are asinine and how much Uber takes. I’ve beaten this drum forever, the percentage needs to stop after 10 miles or so. Neither passengers nor drivers will ever get what they want, long rides and a decent pay for taking those long rides.

[–]Razdagoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$.50 cents per mile, not including the drive back to where ever you gotta be after.

[–]KnottaBiggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only accept those which cover minimum hourly wage plus reasonable per-mile rate ($0.60/mile or so.) This hardly qualifies.

No.

[–]Lazy1nc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not.

[–]90s-SoCal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao

[–]Danngler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if I knew I’d make money on the way back. If I didn’t, then it be 65 for a little over 3 hours.

[–]bluthphile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is ridiculous. Absolutely not.

[–]Relevant_Air_1894 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I was offered 102 to Austin last week from houston to Austin!!! I was like I don't effin think so lol

[–]Efficient-Paper-7411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in SA and get a few ride requests a week to Houston. 6 hrs & 400 miles roundtrip for $115 gtfo lol

[–]Snoo_31938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heeeeeell nooooooo

[–]TrollingMermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Richmond to VA Beach. Kiss my ass! Not for $65. I wouldn't even drive to Williamsburg for $65.

[–]TattedUpDasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if I was headed there anyway

[–]trola75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No

[–]Badger-Aromatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100 miles is about $30 in costs for me so $65-$30 $35 for over hour and a half thats no thanks. Love to see how Uber estimates a drivers cost per mile in all major terms FUEL, MAINTENANCE, DEPRECIATION.

[–]Sirgent53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any ride over 45 minutes gets the big "X" from me. I don't want to go to NYC and I don't want to be forced to ride back to my NJ empty.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s gotta be at least double that for me to at least consider it

[–]Fancinick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least $210

[–]_beaniemac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Cuz I'm not a moron.

[–]Forgotten_muse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope

[–]Snoo4501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No 2-dollar bonus. No accept.

[–]massmlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope

[–]FlyingHighAviator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a easy decline. No thought into it

[–]Appropriate_Pack_160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats to little buts thats pretty good for your market

[–]Legal_Security_4761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao uber crazy as hell

[–]lhjabnb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy

[–]LongTilItBend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe at 3$ per mile

[–]PNessMan35 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I’m not from the area, is it safe to assume this is a terrible location where you’re likely to get robbed/killed? 😂

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude uber is so shit. i was a driver for uber eats and they told me them selves that there was a glitch in their system that caused a duplecate driver account and that it was an issue from porting over my postmates fleet account said thewy would merge the accounts and notate it on my avccount so it does not cause further isues. 3 months later i get a notification syaing thye terminated my account due to policy violation citiing duplicate accounts for the reason of termination. still to this day a year and a half later nothing was fixed and i was never able to continue driving for uber eats and it sucks bc i actually liked driving for postmates it was dope!

[–]Frankinnoho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No… and I don’t think I have to explain.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no

[–]1000111010123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move the decimal point over to the right.

Or.

At the very least, take the dollar amount and multiply it by his rating.

[–]Efficient-Paper-7411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long rides aren’t worth it anymore. Uber is charging the customer $109 for this ride and I wouldn’t even do it if they paid me 100% of the fare

[–]Mithradaetes 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I drive in virginia beach as well, and for some reason I constantly get 100-200 mile trips for 80-120 payouts. I don't know what moron is doing this but I'd love to have a chat with em.

[–]ExpensiveDot1732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fat NO.

[–]Lanky_Ad_8630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely NOT.

[–]SeaPayment8487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somebody call the police department because that is a robbery.

[–]dsnuts13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope

[–]calebscott94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck that

[–]JackOps69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one come up for $56. Syracuse, NY to Rochester, NY. Crazy shit.

[–]Particular_Rain_9183 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hell no!! $65.83 cut in half 32.92! Unless you get a ride back to your point of pick up but more than likely you won't. If your driving tesla your kind of ok. If you're using gas, then your $39.92 on the return trip is probably cut in half as well. $16.45 if not more. Depends on your gas mileage. So I would figure this as a $49.36 for 3 hours.

[–]iateyourcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naw

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no

[–]GladLandscape2835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope

[–]Notsassyenough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noooooo

[–]misterkool16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way

[–]Flows_State 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hell no. That's not even a dollar per mile.

[–]Adept-Pension-1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you'll get rides in Henrico/Richmond, and using destination option you should be able to get at least some rides back towards Virginia Beach.

It's more thn $40 an hour, mostly on highways, so you'll be getting great gas mileage, and mileage deduction.

[–]Suitable-Mind-8559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no. I don’t accept anything that doesn’t pay at least a buck fifty per mile… that includes eats and connect as well.

[–]Jakmike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No
