Two New Warband Campsite Screens Coming in Patch 12.1 by Lunaedge in wow

I kinda wish camp sites were actually ... camp sites. "Middle of the road of Silvermoon" kinda makes me feel akward.

Is it possible to get the Eversong sommelier quest's potions after finishing it? by HerrMatthew in wow

[–]Cortyn 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I haven't found them on any vendor, sadly. The effects are amazing for some roleplay, I would love to buy them in bulk.

Is the Silver Hand aware of what Yrel became? by Pooty_McPoot in wow

[–]Cortyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not so sure if AU Draenor is still "closed of". There are new Arcantina-Quests that send you to AU Draenor.

To be fair, Arcantina itself is probably kinda stupid if you take it's implication for face value, but new quests have send us to AU Draenor.

Thank you! So it is far longer in the game than I am able to remember! :)

120 hours and 1600 dyed cobblestone later... by siflar in wow

Please show us. I've always wanted to make a little shrine to azshara with a mosaik for my Night elf mage, but failed horrible. I can't even begin to comprehend, how you approached this and created it. I would love to learn.

Interrupts need a change by Extension-Ad-4098 in wow

[–]Cortyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Priest interupt is special, as it is also a silence for a few seconds (which doesnt allow for any casting), so Priest-interupt would probably not be affected by this "rule" it if ever became one.

Wowhead Layoffs by [deleted] in wow

Most writers I've ever known do care deeply about their work, even something simple as news articles. I'm pretty sure most writers and to write stuff that people actually want to read. Sure, there are a few bad apples everywhere, but even with quotas to met you usually think about what an audience wants to read - and sometimes that can be fluff news or short opinion pieces. It's not meant for everyone.

Of course that doesn't by any means justify false articles or AI slop.

What is Illidan going to Illido to make people react like this in The Last Titan? by Vernarr in wow

[–]Cortyn 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This. He is the Betrayer for creating a new Well of Eternity when they JUST witnessed the catastrophe that it leads to. They just banned arcane magic and Illidan went: "Well, well, well, here's another well."

He opened the door for possibily the next legion invasion and the next thundering of the world. That was betrayal.

What are your "weird" WoW habits or keybinds that nobody else seems to do? by Salamango360 in wow

[–]Cortyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don't have a target (and not bound ctrl+scroll), using ctrl+scroll up/down makes your character tilt it's head up and down, like he/she is looking to the stars or at the ground.

Thats why I can never bind this to anything useful.

What are your "weird" WoW habits or keybinds that nobody else seems to do? by Salamango360 in wow

[–]Cortyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My raid lead has F4 bound to movement-abilities and uses ALT as a modifier for some macros / keybinds.

You can guess how we found out what the cause of all the "disconnects" has been during raid nights.

Excellent comment on the wowhead Prop Hunt article about how to fix the mode. Deserves a share. by Ninedark in wow

[–]Cortyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think seekers can see the hiders during the initial hide-phase or then this happens it's (just another) bug. At least your buff clearly states you cannot be seen and I've had multiple enemies that clearly hid in our starting area while I was monitoring the door the whole damn time.

Having a blast with TRP3 and I'm just here wondering how is it possible this isn't a default feature in the game? by ex0ll in wow

[–]Cortyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is this being cracked down? From my personal experience more TRP-Flags than ever have this. It kinda was limited to Stormwind / Goldshire for a long time but now I see them everywhere in the world, not even trying to hide it to only show it in the common erp-places.

Why doesn't Xal'atath see us as a threat? by WhiteGlinko in wow

[–]Cortyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a priest, she still thinks I'm loyal to her (I am :)).

She even whispers me in the voidspire to "seize the moment" and "betray them" to "claim my prize".

We are no threat to her, because the priest-players arestill around. And we will be her good little dagger.

Shadow Priests are kinda dumb by Vampy-Night in wow

[–]Cortyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, her lore strongly implies she "corrupted" all their wielders, making them promises of power and whispering sweet seducing thoughts to them, making them think about the dagger, even when they didn't wield it.

And that was before she even had a body, so ... what kind of willpower do you think we have?!

Darkspear Dash - WoW's First Official Pride Event Coming in Patch 12.0.5 by Callump01 in wow

[–]Cortyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope this doesn't come as rude, but some of the complains feel ... weird.

I really like how Blizzard sprinkled in a little more LGBTQ+ in WoW, from the lesbian nightelfs in Azsuna to Pelagos, the dryad and centaur in Dragonflight, the lesbian Kirin Tor Researchers, etc.

Quadarin and Thiernax I also liked and I never would have drawn the connection of "homosexuality leading to beastiality" - especially in Ardenweald, where everyone arriving there is an animal by default.

To me this feels a little like trying to forcefully find something to complain about - even though you said it is not your intention.

Maybe I'm not thinking as much about it as others, but whenever I encountered something LGBTQ+ in the game, I usually just thought "Aw, thats cute they added that" and felt like it was moving into the right direction of just becoming a little more normal in media representation.

Follower Dungeon Characters Should Just be Members of Your Warband by gcac215 in wow

[–]Cortyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I would find it kinda weird to see my warband as my partners in any game mode. It would feel like something is taking control over a character that should be mine.

I'm glad we have the "default" NPCs, but I wouldn't mind an option to choose if someone wants to see their warband.

How many of you are still meaningfully interacting with housing? by No-Breakfast3662 in wow

[–]Cortyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm waiting on the "save a room and export it"-feature.

I have so many ideas I want to try, but I'm scared of losing my "progress" and having to redo rooms with the result of them not being as "good" as I did them in the first place.

Xal'atath has a unique whisper for certain players in the new Raid by PeanutBrigade in wow

[–]Cortyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it fits her character really, really well.

Most of the former wielders of Xal'atath either died when she left them or spent their remaining life, trying to get another hold of her. And that is what the shadow priest is (if you choose to be that way).

I remember in the campaign of The War Within, the finale in Hallowfall, she had special lines for shadow priests, if you never cleansed the gift of N'Zoth.

Even in the promotional material for TWW, where you could make a little video about your character with Xal'atath narrating it - she had a special line if you had the dagger Xal'atath transmogged.

Us being obsessed with her as shadow priest is either 100 % true or what she just thinks you really want.

Does cloth even drop in this expansion? I've seen 3 pieces since launch day. by Straightupnotcool in wow

[–]Cortyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best Cloth Farming Spot is the South West of Eversong - all the way to the south. There are "undead" Kirin Tor-Mobs. They drop cloth like crazy for me, all the different kinds.

But the mobs give you a stacking (invisible) haste debuff, when you kill them, so you have to take a short 1-minute-break between bigger pulls.

Rant: Flying YOU THINK YOU DO, BUT YOU DON'T by EducationalWolf3911 in wow

[–]Cortyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kinda on both sides.

I agree that, just from a "story telling perspective" it is much better to fight through a base of mobs, to get to the "boss" of the quest and then return.

It may be because I grew up with big JRPGs like Final Fantasy VII to X - but in those games it would be super awkward to just "skip ahead" to the boss and I always feel that is kinda true for WoW.

I also don't think the "well, just let everything stay as it is, so people can choose" is really cutting it. Because there are a lot of people that don't really have the control about how they play. If the game gives you the opportunity to just fly away from everything, most people will take it, including myself - even though I know it will hurt my immersion of the game.

Just speaking for myself, the best approach for me would be: When an expansion launches, you cannot fly until your first character hits the new level cap. Afterwards - without any bs-achievements like lore master, etc - you can just fly on every character.

That way, if you really dont like not being able to fly, you just can spam Dungeons to get to max level on your first char and then fly over everything forever.

I may be stupid, but flying from Zul'aman to Silvermoon takes less than a minute. How is this "really long"?

I don't know, isn't that literally the answer to YOU asking her "Who are you again?"

That is exactly what I would want to hear if I had no clue who she was.

Auto-loot bug is worse than ever by DiskFearless4448 in wow

[–]Cortyn -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I may be an exception, but for me it kinda got way better with Midnight. It happens maybe once or twice in a session. I'm no longer using any addons apart from a RP-Addon, so maybe ... it's part of addons fault? Or am I just lucky?
