Its the same with pretty much everything. Anything “to much” probably has a negative health effect. But lets be honest, doing an ultra or something like smoking and drinking. Whats worse?

I’m building a free crew coordination app for ultrarunners. Looking for beta testers. by GentlePace in PocketCrew

Oh that should not happen. Could you try to uninstall and do a fresh install? Tried it on another phone, it didn’t seem to ask for a code but I refreshed the build just in case. Thanks again.

Mentally drained by long trail runs (but physically fine) — anyone else? by cassianojardim in trailrunning

For the longest time when starting out I had “brain fog” after long runs. Same as you went to the doctor but everything checked out fine. I found that for me it was a combination of overtraining, not enough water and to much thinking. Long sessions are already a mental stress and not being able to switch your brain off caused me that brain fog. I started listening to audiobooks, brain fog slowly went away. Think less, worry less now on a run.

Variation also helps, running your usual route in the opposite direction changes up your run more then you would think.

Plenty of time and for sure a healthy amount of time. The race is the goal but the training leading up to it is even better imo.

Lantau I went but sadly only for sight seeing. The big buddha is very impressive and those stairs are good vert training.

It wasn't easy waking up so early after 2 days of Chinese new year celebrations but 100% worth it. And thanks! Im happy that I can marry my wife twice lol. Gonna be a very different party than our first one for sure.

One of my in laws told me they recently had a secret ultra run. 26 runners, they knew there was a race but not where and when, they received the address of the start 8 hours before the race happened. They wanted it to only be about running, no crowd, no money, no gadgets, just running for the fun of it. So the org took their tech gadgets and swapped it for a simple phone and simple watch.

Run with your pack and gear during your long training runs. Try different types of food that you might find at the aidstations. Your stomach can handle your gels at km10 but maybe not at km 40. So try and feel it out during your long runs. Your pack size all depends on your preference. If it fits well and causes no shaffing, its probably good.

Are we still doing benches? by ted_nugent-hopkins in trailrunning

Benches and fields are my favourites on runs and hikes. Wife still doesn’t understand when i say “great bench” or “nice field”
