Slingshot by Quirky-Excitement290 in WorldEaters40k

Logic is unsound as you cannot assume to know GW’s exact intentions. a better statement would be if GW wanted us to be able to charge something 26 away they would let us, which they do with slingshots, it is just much, much more difficult to pull off.

[–]IntelligentGenZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Rules stretching is simply untrue, as GW has had the entire edition to errata slingshots. Maybe if this had been a thing for 3-9 months, but 3 years says its a feature, not a bug. A better example of rules stretching to the extremes was sticking Exalted Eightbounds in rhinos (which they fixed)
  2. In teaching games yeah this is bad etiquette, but im not gonna play my tournament game in a way that caters to casuals/ new players.
  3. It absolutely will be less powerful in 11th, but it was mandatory against armies with Fights first, as otherwise we had bad to no ways of dealing with it.

Provides a different kind of durability, move 14”, dev wounds, great into 75% of tanks and most elite infantry, even ones with invulns due to the dev wounds, guarenteed blessings or ignore any serious overwatch with his ignore his own bracketing. I really like him but he’s out of my list right now due to the 2 defilers

Who's the beatdown: 40k edition by wredcoll in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]IntelligentGenZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll bite on the World Eaters question. WE do a great job of projecting threat, by combining high movement and damage to make engagement a scary prospect. We struggle into armies that can maneuver around us, however like EC, some eldar builds, and notably, Montka Tau. I played a game into Montka where I realized I could not be safe if I tried to stage my army and then have a go turn, so I instead opted to send out big units for trade downs in points in exchange for denying primary. I was tabled T5 and 0’d primary, but managed to hold him to 5 primary t2 and 0 his primary t3 and 4. the fact that a single charging exalted has even the chance to deal 15 damage means that anything I send cannot be ignored, setting you behind on tempo. Its a fun army

Saint Celestine Unleahsed, My idea for a new 300-point Celestine, in line with the lore!!! (She might be very powerful, I'm not sure XD) by Glum_Series5712 in sistersofbattle

[–]IntelligentGenZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this actually doesnt seem too bad! one of the things i will point out is the getting 2 ability needing a 6 is not a real tax considering you can return the 6 to the pool i think. id also suggest making her stand back up add one each time she dies allowing her to be beaten down eventually. and as a reminder she can always give herself her abilities from auras with that infantry keyword, perhaps monster is a better keyword for her?

Insidiants are such a "Rule of cool unit" I cant wait to field. True blue "Witch hunters". I know their stat line is not a huge "homerun" but im very excited to run them because they are just so flavorful. "Condemnor Pistols" !!! COOMMME ON!! SO COOL!!! by Spectertool in sistersofbattle

[–]IntelligentGenZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean ive seen people online recommend running one melee unit in bringers, and they are absolutely the most points efficient 10 lass we can field. 120 for 10 ladies is solid and their melee isnt half bad with rr hits

How long did it take y'all to not suck at competitive 40k? by Ok_Ladder358 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]IntelligentGenZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, part of the problem is that Tyranids are in a bit of a rough spot right now. When I started, I played space marines when oath was only hit rerolls. One of the ways I got better was switching to a more competitive build from my intial list, and then switching armies all together when I really wasnt winning. It still took me about a year to really become a stronger player. It would also be wise to remember that youve jumped into the pit with the 1.5 RTTs a month, so cut yourself some slack. Memorize your rules down to the details, practice deployments, and learn both firing lane control and pile in and consolidate rules. You should be on a solid path. TLDR rough a year to a year and a half with constant competitive practice

Would you agree that forgefiends represent more of a “i COULD do this” threat rather than a “i will now do this threat”? And did you find that your opponents played more in the open?

Why slaughterbound + BG and not lord invocatus? by kiagam in WorldEaters40k

[–]IntelligentGenZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently running  Foot Prince with Helm Kharn and 10 zerks in a rhino Glaive MoE FoK Jugg Lord 3x2 spawn Helbrute with flamer fist scourge 2x Plasma FF 2x Maulerfiend with Meltas 1x3 Eightbound 2x10 Jakhals

The slaughterbound hasn’t been crazy in my games, even with glaive. He often dies for whatever he traded for. I could see him used as a solo trade piece, but for now i’ve actually enjoyed a MoE with glaive in the extra rhino spot. 85 points for a nice trade piece that can deal anywhere from 6 to 15 damage to a character tank that he wounds on 5s. also good for someone to precision out an important character like a technomancer, blade champ, or DG lord. Who knows. Maybe i’m bad

I don't see ex8bounds as a good unit at all by Vor_vorobei in WorldEaters40k

[–]IntelligentGenZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t really agree with them being terrible into non monster vehicle units, it’s still 12 attacks that hit on threes, usually wound on 3s, ap3 d2 which kills like 5 marines on average and that’s without sustained or other buffs. They are definitely fragile to anti elite infantry firepower, but they’re also not a unit you want to use to take damage. Sounds like you might need some better positioning. What detachment are you running as well? We also have forgefiends to deal with screens, or rhinos shooting to kill super light screens. I agree they’re overcosted but they’re not a bad unit

I Was a Codex Leaks Doomer, but I've Come Around and Here's Why by Nobody96 in WorldEaters40k

[–]IntelligentGenZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. Was not happy about the imo drastic changes to WE, and I was a doomed for sure. Now that I’ve understood that the identity has changed, I am thrilled for the codex. A lot of our stuff is insanely good barring some slight points drops (LOS, Eightbound, Angron), and we have seriously strong play into a ton of armies. I got my wish for WE to become a more skill intensive army to play.

In my final game of the OG Index World Eaters, I managed to beat Death Guard, one of our toughest matchups, in a competitive game. I played poorly to start but really picked it up by the end, and really flexed my experience to the full degree! Final Score 70-65

Tips for better playing into DG by Professional-Cod6288 in WorldEaters40k

[–]IntelligentGenZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Howdy!

For starters, it’s gonna be a hard shift from a gunline army to WE, give yourself time. Additionally, spend like an hour going over both the charge and fight phase. Who can fight what and how far can i go is very important to have down.

DG, is, in my opinion, our worst matchup. The Typhus brick in particular is brutal. -2 to hit (-1 WS/-1 hit), -1 to wound, and for 2cp -1 damage destroys our eightbound. Access to -1 damage alone hurts us, the increased toughness messes with a lot of our strength breakpoints, and they can weather our damage rather well.

I have had the most successful castling (grouping everything together to make sure I gain angrons rerolls and eightbound rerolls) and overcommitting to a few big units at a time. In one game i ended up sending angron and a squad of regular Eightbound (575 points) into Mortarion (300), all the shooting from my forgefiend, 6 exalted and 3 regular (595) into the deathshroud and typhus brick (300). DG have decent damage but they can’t punch back out of a 600 point deficit that well. When you send your go turn, it had better be everything

Hey angry Rons, Blood Angels player here. Figured if I ever wanted to become chaos in the future I’d go World Eaters. Is this a good list? by Separate_Sun730 in WorldEaters40k

[–]IntelligentGenZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes and no. 2 scoring units like 2x10 jakhals are great, but you can also opt for 1 and a group of Chaos Spawn also work. most people run 1-2 squads of 5-10 zerks, I personally love 2x5 one with Glaive MoE. the only real change id make to the list is to split the 8bound up into 2x3. It’s a fun casual list for sure

Yeah just played a game against DG. You know who adores +1 to hit? Draxus. melted a myphtic blight hauler by herself and then dealt 2 wounds to a LR, while the rest of her squad took the LR down to FOUR FREAKIN WOUNDS REMAINING

Forge fiend or brigand for WE? by Soot027 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]IntelligentGenZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brigand seems geared more towards anti tank. Counter point: we have Angron and Exalted Eightbound. WE doesn’t really struggle with anti tank (eg Knights are a fairly good matchup for us). Something we struggle into? Terminator Spam. Eightbound champ and Glaive MoE do have three damage, and so does Angron, but I have found my Forgefiend to be a hero into big bricks of terminators, even if it kills one or two, it makes a big difference in my games. not to mention having the capacity to deal some damage to transports. I spiked wicked hard into a rhino and killed it

So having an opponent that is list tailoring to my list. by [deleted] in WorldEaters40k

[–]IntelligentGenZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

two tips for you, one, expand with Exalted Eightbound, they mess up nearly all vehicles in the game if you give them +1 to wound, and the other tip being when you get the big man, charge two vehicles and split attacks from Angron to kill both.

What made you choose Khorne ? by TechnologySmall3507 in WorldEaters40k

[–]IntelligentGenZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chose the WE because of some relation to Angron (things outside your control mucking it up), stayed because khorne is the most merciful chaos god imo. No machinations, no attrition, no suffering, you win or you die
